Legendary comedian and TV host Chelsea Handler is celebrating her birthday in a unique way. Handler decided to do some skiing and shared a highlight video on Instagram. In it, she is seen wearing a strapless bathing suit top with the Canadian flag and a black bottom while going down the slopes. She captioned the post, “48! Salud!” How does she stay so fit? 1. She Keeps Her Blood Sugar Under Control

Handler opened up about her diet and approach to eating in an interview with Women’s Health. She says that while she eats a late breakfast, she also eats consistently for the rest of the day. "I eat every three to four hours," she says. "I always make sure I have something every three to four hours because a nutritionist once taught me it's the best way to control your blood sugar levels."
2. She Doesn’t Eat Heavy Food

Handler is all about eating light meals, especially with the meal schedule she is on. "I think when you consistently feed your body, you have less of an inclination to [pig out]," she explains to Women’s Health. "I like to eat light and I don't overdo it now. When I'm eating, I take my time and pay attention to when I'm full." Handler says that she limits certain foods, like pasta, creamy things, and rice for this reason.
3. She Makes Water Enjoyable

Handler admits to Women’s Health that she wants to stay hydrated and drink a lot of water. However, she says that she has to spice it up in order to do this. "I have water in my fridge that has lemon, lime, and cucumber," she says. "I'm not a fan of water, so in order to drink it I have to doctor it up. I have to add stuff to make it palatable and it has to be ice-cold; everything I drink has to be ice-cold."
4. She Loves Blueberries

Handler talked about her favorite foods in her Women’s Health interview. She says that blueberries are a favorite of hers. "I usually like to late-night snack," she says. "For me, it's usually blueberries. I'm obsessed with blueberries and, when they're out of season, I'm bummed."
5. She Works Her Abs
Handler works with personal trainer, Ben Bruno, to keep herself in shape. One thing they like to work on is Handler’s abs. Bruno opened up about Handler’s progress in this video on his Instagram. He captioned it, “For the last 8 years, @chelseahandler has told me ‘I don’t know how to ‘do abs’,’ but I beg to differ. After seeing her do a 2-minute hollow body hold in her latest Netflix special (check it out, it’s really funny) while cracking jokes, I feel vindicated in my approach to core training.”
