She's Focusing on Getting in the Right Headspace
Like so many others, she recognizes that she needs therapy to get herself in a good healthy mindset, working on her overall happiness. "Like anybody, I struggle with insecurities and self-doubt," Chelsea said. "A lot of people tell me that I'm fearless. I don't feel fearless." She's found therapy extremely helpful for her overall health. Afterall, it starts with the mind.
She Cut Way Back On Drinking
Drinking can be fun, but it never really leads to anything better for your health. Chelsea admitted that she used to consume alcohol often. "I thought I could handle my alcohol, but I didn't realize how much your body and your life changes when it's not in your life every day," she said. Although she hasn't given it up, she admits that it is nice to wake up with a clear mind and no bloat.
She Works Out Daily
Chelsea prioritizes working out almost everyday. Again, she's only human and everybody needs a day off once in a while, but generally, she enjoys it. Chelsea told Health she aims to exercise "I just like to feel strong, and now it's part of my mental strength." According to the Mayo Clinic, exercise is so important for overall health, energy, and stress management.
She's Working Hard On Her Relationship With Food
Chelsea admits that her relationship with food has not always been a strong one, having experimented with eating disorders in previous years. "I've had a terrible relationship with food," she said. "I was all out of sorts when I moved to Los Angeles. I've basically experimented with every eating disorder there is." She even admits to taking water pills that drain fluids to make her look thinner. "It's tough being a woman," she said. "I try to set a good example, but sometimes I'm not being a good example." After a lot of hard work, Handler says she's the healthiest she's ever been.
She Relaxes and Clears Her Mind
Chelsea prioritizes getting her head in the right space and has been a strong advocate for marijuana use and meditation. "Weed has had such a positive impact on me," she said, adding that she "microdoses" with a THC gummy before bedtime and prior to workouts. She also meditates daily, and admits that it kind of annoyed her in the beginning. "I tried with my psychiatrist several times. He made me short recordings and long recordings, and then I'd meditate," she said. She wasn't sold at first, but over time it grew on her.
