1

Find Healthy Hobbies

Christen relies on healthy hobbies to stay in shape even when she isn't at the gym. One of her favorites is riding horses, which boasts both physical and mental health benefits. "Sunset ride to the Hollywood sign," she captioned this image of herself on a ride. According to the American Heart Association, it boosts cardiovascular health, builds core strength, burns calories, and lowers blood pressure.

2

Drink Green Juice

Christen also drinks her nutrients in the form of green juice. "Hoping this will cancel out all the damage I will do at brunch this weekend," she captioned this image of a bottle of green juice filled with spinach, romaine, kale, and cucumber.

3

Take a Hike

Another healthy habit of Christen's is going for regular hikes. Luckily, she has a canine companion to serve as her workout buddy. "Roxie and I have mixed feelings about hikes 🐶 anyone know any good hikes around LA?" she jokingly captioned this Instagram post panting at the top of a trail with her dog. "Hiking is one of the best ways to get exercise. No matter what type of trail you find yourself on, hiking is a great whole-body workout—from head to toe and everything in between," says the National Parks Service. Some of the physical benefits include building stronger muscles and bones, improving your sense of balance, improving your heart health, and decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems. It also offers many mental health benefits, according to a Stanford University study.

Set Fitness Goals

Christen also sets fitness goals for herself at the start of the new year, so she has a better chance of achieving them. "My goal for 2022 is to feel stronger than ever and let me tell you I'm already feeling amazing," she captioned a post. "Let me know what your fitness goals are this year!"

5

Give Your Body a Break

Christen listens to her body. She revealed that prior to making her debut in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition in 2021, she didn't starve herself. Instead, she was "preparing for the SI Swim Search photo shoot by just continuing to wake up everyday and do whatever feels best for my body," she said. "Whether that's working out or taking a night to eat pizza with friends, I'm going to enjoy this exciting time leading up to the shoot. I love that SI Swim encourages everyone to be themselves so that is exactly what I'm going to do!"
