McGuinness told Women Fitness that her workout routine depends on her schedule and how she feels that day. “I don’t stick to a routine; I do whatever I’m in the mood for that day. On days that I feel like doing nothing I will pop the baby in the pram and go for a long walk so I am still doing some gentle exercise.”

McGuinness tells Women Fitness that she always tries to eat healthy. “Green and protein is what I aim for,” she says. “At the minute I’m eating avocado with almost everything! Avocado with egg, avocado with chicken, avocado smash bagel. It's healthy and filling, it does contain fats but good fats. I do have a sweet tooth; I allow myself treats in moderation, mainly weekends. When I’m craving sugar I reach for the fruit bowl or a mixed veg and fruit smoothie.”

McGuinness has been open about her struggles with her body image, particularly an eating disorder that affected her ability to conceive. However, she revealed on Instagram that she has a more positive outlook about her body, and is accepting herself at all sizes. “I do remain positive. It takes time, hard work, commitment and dedication but it will be one of the best things you can do for yourself.I believe exercise is great for your inner self more than your outer self. Each and every body is beautiful but if you ask me about exercise I will always encourage and support the idea. Go for it every time, do it for you! I only wish someone would have encouraged me sooner.”

McGuinness wrote on Instagram that she is constantly working to better her mental health, and that she is focusing on creating her own happiness and self-worth. “Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom to get back up and realize how strong you are. Everyone has good and bad times in life, focus on the good. Remember things do change so never make a permanent decision on temporary feelings. Create your own happiness. Build yourself and your future. ‘Be strong when you are weak, brave when you are scared and humble when you are victorious.’ Believe in yourself always.”
