She Lost a Lot of Weight After Her Pregnancy

Dalljiet famously slimmed down after becoming a mom, achieving her best body ever. "I take life one day at a time. I thought now was the time to get back in shape and I started working towards it," Dalljiet told TOI, per India Today. "I am feeling much more confident now after the weight loss. I didn't want to give any excuses to my fans that I have gained weight because I delivered a baby. Earlier, I couldn't do it as I needed money to join a gym and work on myself. But after I started working again, I could afford it. I have really worked hard to lose 25 kg. In fact, I weigh less than I did before my marriage."

She Follows a "Strict" Diet

"I have been following a strict diet since last one year. I have had no roti or rice in this last one year," Dalljiet told TOI. What is her secret to diet success? "Creating a calorie deficit, and identifying nutrition values of anything you eat is the most important aspect of weight loss. Plus, I observed a change when I overhauled my diet (consumed less sugar, replaced chapatis and parathas with lentil rotis), walked for 15000 steps every day and indulged in light workouts," she added to Times of India

She Works Out, No Excuses

Dalljiet also puts in the work at the gym. "I exercise regularly without fail," she said. "I sometimes end up shooting for 18 hours a day, but I make sure I give time to my son and exercise. Sometimes, I even go to gym late in the night when my son is asleep. I won't be modest. It has been very tough and requires a lot of will power," she said.

She Does YouTube Workouts and Walks

Dalljiet told Times of India what her routine consists of. "I followed a lot of workout gurus on Youtube and started my fitness journey. On a regular basis, I would do 20 minutes of bodyweight workout at home (without any equipment) and later, started adding 15000 steps daily. To be honest, walking or finishing up the step-count wasn't easy, because of the COVID pandemic, but I had to think outside the box and started walking inside my house- I stopped laying down on the couch, walked frequently, never sat for long and again, got up for a stroll post my meals. This way, I managed to keep the step count up," she said.

She Eats Mindfully

Dalljiet has a trick for eating healthy."Rather than giving into my hunger pangs, I eat more mindfully. I value a food's nutrition count and content rather than just the taste. This way, I am more conscious of what goes into my mouth and this keeps me super focussed. Even my cheat day meals are moderated and not heavy. I have made it a goal to stay healthy for life, and plan to continue to do so, while enjoying my life," she told Times of India. "My message is, one need to not cut out on your indulgences- just moderate, and eat 1/4th portion to satisfy the craving."
