Yoga and Zumba

Banik says she wouldn't describe herself as a "fitness freak", preferring gentle exercise. "I love doing yoga or zumba at home," she says. "I don't follow any strict diet, and I usually avoid junk food. It's always homemade food for me, with daal bhaat (rice and pulses) being my comfort food."

2

No Sugar

Banik feels much better since removing sugar from her diet. "I think having sweets or refined sugar is more harmful than fried foods," she says. "With sugar detox, I have noticed positive changes. I have acne-prone and oily skin. The skin texture seems much better now. Also, my hair fall problems have stopped. At times, during festivities, when I badly crave sweets, I just take a small bite."

3

Healthy Snacks

Banik's everyday diet is based on fresh fruit and vegetables, plus staying hydrated. The actress makes sure even her snacks are healthy and nutritious. "My daily diet comprises a healthy dose of fresh fruits and nuts apart from plenty of water including coconut water," she says.

4

Home Cooking

Banik cooks at home as much as possible. "I always eat light-spiced, homemade food and avoid junk items totally," she says. "My day begins with oats or a healthy, wholesome South Indian breakfast. For lunch, it can be chicken stew, rice, daal and some salad. I love sipping lemon water throughout the day."

5

Simple Beauty Routine

Banik follows a simple yet effective beauty routine. "Left to myself, I am just a lip balm and sunscreen person, and I don't wear make-up at all, if I am not shooting," she says. "I always prefer the fresh, dewy look. To take care of my skin, I religiously follow cleansing, toning and moisturizing. Also, once a week, I scrub my body with a homemade paste of almonds, turmeric, neem, orange peels and olive oil."
