Welch is open about her struggles with unhealthy eating habits, especially binging on treats. However, she tells Express that her new diet has helped her learn about moderation. She syas the diet, "taught me how to enjoy treats, in moderation, without slipping into bad habits of comfort eating again."
She Avoids Falling Into Unhealthy Eating Patterns
Welch tells Express that she has methods that help her avoid falling into unhealthy eating habits. She says that she thinks a lot before eating something. "I now stop and think before I eat. I find it helps to ask myself, 'Are you really hungry, or are you just fed up, tired or stressed?' This helps me catch myself from falling into unhelpful eating patterns."
She Works Out Outside
When Welch wants to workout, she doesn't always go to a gym, or use official equipment. In 2018, Welch posted this video on Twitter of herself doing leg workouts outside with a bike rack. She wrote, "Outdoor gym life!!!"
She Follows The LighterLife Diet Method
Welch uses the LighterLife Diet plan when it comes to eating healthy, and is open about how helpful it has been for her. She tells Express, "Being on the LighterLife journey doesn't mean I can't have fish and chips, I can't have a dessert, it doesn't mean I can't have these things."

Welch tells Express that she uses the 5:2 concept when it comes to her diet, and that it works really well for her.
