Disha Patani is enjoying her time in the tropics. The 29-year-old Bollywood star looks gorgeously serene in her latest Instagram post, lounging in a pool wearing a swimsuit. She also revealed her sense of humor, comparing her slick look to a seal. (Her caption was a simply hi—🙋♀️—emoji.) How does the actress keep herself in such fantastic physical form? 1. Exercise Daily
Disha is totally committed to fitness. “I work out everyday and my routine usually involves cardio in the mornings, like dancing, kick boxing or gymnastics, and weight training in the evenings,” she told Vogue India. Harvard Health endorses her daily commitment, suggesting “at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise or 15 minutes of intense exercise a day,” to maintain health.
2. Prioritize Hydration

Disha sets herself up for hydration success. She even told Vogue that her water bottle “is the most important part of any workout.” Harvard Health encourages drinking at least four-to-six cups of water daily and avoiding overhydration. “It's possible to take in too much water if you have certain health conditions, such as thyroid disease or kidney, liver, or heart problems; or if you're taking medications that make you retain water, such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), opiate pain medications, and some antidepressants,” they add.
3. Do Strength Training

Disha is all about strength training instead of cardio. She told Vogue that the biggest misconception “is that women working out involves cardio, not weight training,” adding that “we all work out and do heavy weights; I come across so many girls in the gym training really hard. At the end of the day, it isn't about the gender, but about working on your body and becoming your fittest self.”
4. Eat Healtyh

Disha views food as fuel, supplementing her exercise regimen with a “protein-carbs” diet, she explained to Vogue. “I have fallen into this bad habit where I don't eat anything in the mornings before working out, because I feel very full while exercising if I do. But, it is definitely advisable to cram in a small meal before a work out, consisting of some protein, like eggs. After exercising, it is good to add protein again, either through chicken, eggs or paneer.”
5. Cheat
Disha is all about the occasional cheat meal. “I absolutely love them; in fact, I wait for cheat days the whole week. Depending on the diet I am following and my shoot schedule, I sit down once a week and eat everything I can fit into my stomach,” she confessed to Vogue.
6. Fight
Fight your way to a hot body, a la Disha! The actress regularly kickboxes, showing off her moves on Instagram, like in this recent video she shared. Fighting forms of fitness, including traditional boxing, can benefit your health in a variety of ways. “There's no proof that fitness boxing is superior to any other types of exercise, but it does have many health benefits. One is strength,” says Harvard Health. "You're swinging your arms, moving the muscles of your arms and shoulders, increasing your upper-body strength. And when you're in the boxer crouch with a wide stance, with your knees slightly bent, you're strengthening your core muscles, back, and legs," adds physical therapist Linda Arslanian, director of rehabilitation services at Harvard-affiliated Brigham and Women's hospital.
