Talk About Your Self-Esteem Issues
Doja encourages speaking up about insecurities. "Growing up, I definitely had body dysmorphia. Without a doubt. And I've had it since," she told Cosmopolitan Middle East. "It started in my teens, which I think is where it starts for a lot of people. I started really growing and I never really thought I looked good in a lot of the stuff I wore." However, she tries to keep herself healthy. "Now, I just try to focus on eating well, but I definitely still struggle with body dysmorphia a bit now. But I think that's to be completely expected when there's all these phones in your face, right?"
In an Instagram Live session, Doja admitted she wasn't always into exercise. "It used to be rehearsals for award shows," she said. Now she prioritizes exercise, even when she is traveling. "It's hard to get a hotel that has a proper gym," she added. How much exercise should you aim for weekly? Adults need 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity and 2 days of muscle strengthening activity, according to the current Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans
Doja believes that being authentic is crucial to mental health. "I don't need to be like anyone else but myself," she told Crack. "That sounds so corny, but there were times where I felt like a baby duck, just doing what the momma duck did. I took my own leap of faith. When I'm natural, people really [mess] with me."
Split Up Your Workouts By Body Parts
Doja splits up her workouts by body parts, she revealed during her Instagram Live. On arm days, she does a lot of weight lifting, including four sets of shoulder presses and bicep curls. "I've just always had noodle arms, my whole life," she revealed. On lower body day exercises she does jump squats and kettlebell exercises. "I love doing squats," she said. "Don't know why, but my bottom half responds to a lot, and you can see it immediately."
Doja makes sure to get enough sleep, maintaining that it helps boost her brainpower and her sex life. "I also have an IQ of 560 because of it," she wrote. According to the Sleep Foundation, getting enough z's is also a mood booster, promotes heart health, regulates blood sugar, restores your immune system, helps relieve stress, and aids in weight loss.
