She Starts Her Day Off with Lemon Water
Drew starts her day with a big glass of lemon water, explaining to Grubstreet that it is "a great way to jump-start your body for the day." "Acid helps break down food. That's why there's so much of it in our stomachs. The acid in lemons may be especially helpful in supplementing stomach acid levels, which tend to decline as we age," says the Mayo Clinic. "Most of us don't drink enough water. A daily lemon water habit is an easy way to get your day off on the right foot."
She Tries to Be As Healthy As Possible
Drew maintains a healthy diet, eating lots of veggies and as plant-based as possible. "I eat pretty clean for the most part, which is hard for me to say about other areas of my life. I'm getting better as I get older. I did not [always] take care of myself. I didn't workout or eat healthy, I didn't take care of myself, I probably drank too much. I worked too hard and was an extremist. I resented it when people told me to find the balance. It's different now and I feel like I'm in a much better place. I feel better and I like it. I know when it doesn't feel in balance. I am quick to notice it and get it back on track. I eat a lot of vegetarian and pescatarian food. I eat meat here and there," she told Eating Well.
She Allows Herself to Cheat
Drew also allows herself to indulge. "I love my 'cheat meals', too, for sure," she revealed to Eating Well. "I love tacos and enchiladas and refried beans. The other day I had the best ravioli I've ever eaten in my life. I don't eat like that all the time, but having it be a celebratory meal that feels special."
She Does Yoga and Exercises
Drew is a longtime yogi. In one Instagram video she explained that the practice is about finding what works for your body and taking time for self-care. She is also a fan of The Class workouts. "Some of my mom friends and I try to do this class together once a week. It's a tough one, but a great way to get Friday going," she told Grubstreet.
Her Weight Fluctuates
"I go up and I go down. The rollercoaster of my body is a challenging, but beautiful ride," she wrote in a recent Instagram caption. "That said, there have been times I have stood in my closet and just cried. Hated getting dressed. Didn't feel good! It takes so much for me to look decent. I have to eat just right and work my a— off!"
