Dua Lipa in Bathing Suit Has a "Reset"

Here's how she stays fit.

Dua Lipa is back in a swimsuit! "Reset," she titled a collection of photos and videos of her in Inamorata Woman beachwear (that's the brand founded by Emily Ratajkowski), her first such break in some time, since she's been on the road with the Future Nostalgia tour. In the images, she's on a boat surrounded by a cavernous rock structure, the sun baking her underneath a blue sky. In another set of images, she does some yoga in an olive ensemble. How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 6 ways Dua Lipa stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

Dancing is Her Cardio

Lipa has been praised for her evolution and growth as a performer. Lipa's choreography has gotten a lot harder and more intense, and she's been performing at a lot more events and shows recently. Lipa told Refinery29 that, "I like to leave my cardio workout to dancing." "Almost any form of exercise or movement can increase your fitness level while decreasing your stress. The most important thing is to pick an activity that you enjoy. Examples include walking, stair climbing, jogging, dancing, bicycling, yoga, tai chi, gardening, weightlifting and swimming," says the Mayo Clinic. "And remember, you don't need to join a gym to get moving. Take a walk with the dog, try body-weight exercises or do a yoga video at home."

She Uses Weights

In Lipa's recent Instagram post, she was seen exercising at the gym with a friend. In her photo, she is seen using a two-pound hand weight, and lifting it above her head. Muscle burns calories at a resting state. How cool is it to think that you can turn your body into a calorie-burning furnace just by adding resistance training to your program? "Research shows that a single set of 12 to 15 repetitions with the proper weight can build muscle efficiently in most people and can be as effective as three sets of the same exercise. As long as you take the muscle you are working to fatigue — meaning you can't lift another repetition — you are doing the work necessary to make the muscle stronger. And fatiguing at a higher number of repetitions means you likely are using a lighter weight, which will make it easier for you to control and maintain correct form," says the Mayo Clinic.

She Takes Care Of Her Skin

Lipa tells Refinery29 that skin care is very important to her. Lipa says, "I am religious about washing my face and doing my nighttime skincare routine every evening. Even when it's a rehearsal day and I'm not wearing makeup, it is so important to wash the day off."

She Practices Self-Care

Lipa says to Refinery29 that she makes sure to prioritize self-care, even with her busy schedule. Lipa says that she has a self-care routine at the end of the day. "I also use this time to check in with myself and practice gratitude. The past year has been one for the history books, and I'm just so lucky to have fans who have been so supportive of me from the beginning."

She Meditates

Another part of Lipa's self-care nighttime routine is meditation. She says to Refinery29, "I also like to take 30 minutes to meditate before bed for that added wind-down." "Meditation provides a quietness for the mind, which allows me to focus. We spend a lot of our time doing this upper chest breathing, which meditation pulls the breath down into the lower body. And so it decreases anxiety," says Kathy Barringer, LISW, to the Cleveland Clinic. "So just that increase in oxygen provides more energy, it provides focus and relaxation. It allows my mind to be quieter so that I can…be more fully present in whatever I'm doing and grounded in the moment, instead of rushing to the next thing that I have to do."

She Works Out With Friends

Lipa says to Refinery29 that she usually works out in the mornings, and that she prefers to workout with a buddy. She says, "Whether it's on Zoom, doing a workout with my friend Ella in L.A. who leads a kickass workout class called Sculpt With Ella, or with my best friend Bunny who comes over to train me on days when I'm feeling super lazy and need someone to get me motivated, getting physical really starts my day off right."
