She's All About HIIT Workouts

Dua doesn't like to spend long hours at the gym, so she opts for hardcore HIIT workouts. "It's high-intensity interval training, but it's so quick, it's over before it's even started," she told Vogue. Each session runs 15 minutes and consists of jumping jacks, mountain climbers, and burpees. The Mayo Clinic confirms "you'll burn more calories," with these types of workouts. "The more vigorously you exercise, the more calories you'll burn — even if you increase intensity for just a few minutes at a time," they say.

8:30 am workouts are Dua's jam. "This is normally the time I give myself to work out," she wrote for Refinery29. "Whether it's on Zoom, doing a workout with my friend Ella in L.A. who leads a kickass workout class called Sculpt With Ella, or with my best friend Bunny who comes over to train me on days when I'm feeling super lazy and need someone to get me motivated, getting physical really starts my day off right."

She Does a Lot of Ab Work

Dua told Urban List that the secret to her flat abs is unsurprisingly, lots of ab work. "I think different variations of crunches like bicycle crunches are good. Leg raises are also great unless my back hurts. Planks are good although almost certainly my least favourite!" she said.

In addition to her HIIT workouts, she mixes in lots of variety including yoga, Pilates, and boxing. "Whatever it is, I try to change it up every day to keep things interesting," she told Urban List. "I like that it's definitely a full body workout. Since starting boxing, I've probably been in the best shape ever. It's also a great stress reliever."

She Is a Fan of the Workout Buddy System

In addition to having bikini buddies, Dua is a big fan of the workout buddy system. "I would always be that person who made a new year's resolution, get a gym membership and then show up twice in the first week of January and then never go again," she told Urban List. "Now I love workout classes or working with a trainer. I feel like I'm pretty useless on my own, so I prefer being around other people working out with me."
