Confidence In Herself
Cülcüloğlu's approach to fitness is to support her confidence as well as her wellbeing. "It's never going to be like, a six pack, because I'm not doing a competition," she says of her abs. "Yeah, I know that I need to train in order to stay healthy – mentally and physically – to maintain myself. And I feel like that's what gives me confidence."
Working Out For Mental Health
Cülcüloğlu never skips a workout, no matter how late it is. "If I don't get the workout [done] my mental health will go; mental health is why I work out – and to look good," she says. "It's almost like a drug! After I do cardio I feel like I can rule the world…even if it's 3am I have to fit [exercise] in because otherwise, the next day, I will feel [bad]."
Scrambled Eggs and Avocado
Cülcüloğlu says her favorite breakfast is scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and avocado, which is full of nutrients, protein, and healthy fats. "I mean, I like cooking," she says. "So [I'll cook the eggs] probably with butter, and a bit of milk. I won't make them in the microwave – I use a pan every time. I'll maybe add some salt. Maybe chives. And then smoked salmon. And some brown bread on the side to keep me going."
Yes To Carbs
Cülcüloğlu refuses to restrict entire food groups. "Carbs are fine! Chocolate is fine! Having a drink is fine. It's all about moderation," she says. "I think you are what you eat, and you are what you put in your mind. I want to feed myself with protein. I want to feed myself with green leafy vegetables and drink plenty of water. When you eat well, you feel well…but I also want to have my chocolate."
Lifting Weights
Cülcüloğlu lifts weight to build strength. "I love to lift weights as it makes me feel strong," she says. "I love the gym, but appreciate not everyone has access to one. So, I always encourage people who are starting out with fitness to just get their body moving – you could even just go for a walk! The benefits of fitness are huge. My mother always tries to encourage her clients to do some form of fitness, as it can prove so powerful in helping your brain to stop over thinking."
