She Drinks Hot Water In The Mornings
Hurley is one of many people who subscribe to the idea of starting the day with drinking water, specifically hot water. She tells Healthy Living, "I always start the day with a couple of mugs of hot water." "So how much fluid does the average, healthy adult living in a temperate climate need? The U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine determined that an adequate daily fluid intake is," says the Mayo Clinic:
- "About 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day for men
- About 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women
These recommendations cover fluids from water, other beverages and food. About 20% of daily fluid intake usually comes from food and the rest from drinks."
She Doesn't Eat Late At Night
Hurley tells E! News that she tries to avoid eating her meals in the later hours and late night snacking. "I think that's one of the best diet tips you can have to eat your food earlier on in the day, so you've got more time to digest it and your body can rest in the sleep period," she says. "I think that's quite important. I always used to snack late at night because I was a little bit hungry before I went to bed. I stopped doing that now."
She Makes Time To Workout
Hurley tells E! News that she prioritizes staying active and working out. "I don't really lie around on the sofa much. I like running around, so I don't feel like I need to be skinny, but I feel the need to be athletic and fit. That to me is the most important thing for people to do."
She Gardens
Hurley tells Extra that she loves to garden, and that it is her primary way of staying active. "I do a lot of exercise, but it's really the gardening… cutting down a hedge, using my chainsaw to cut down a tree, logging, all of that stuff I do. So, I'm very active."
She Eats Organic Food, and Avoids Processed Food
Hurley says that she likes to eat organic foods and avoids processed ones. "I like simple, natural, easy food. I don't really like food with a lot of chemicals or additives," she told The Cut.
