She Works Out At Home
Hurley tells The Cut that she likes to workout at home, and that she likes to keep her workout routine simple. "Mostly it's just self-exercise at home. I might do some stomach exercises or some bottom or arm exercises, but because I trained for a dancer when I was young, I sort of know all the exercises. I find it very hard for my schedule to regularly go anywhere else. It works very well for me."
She Works With Scientists
Hurley is passionate about breast cancer research. She tells Us Weekly that she has taken her wellness tips from working with the scientist involved with her campaign. "I think working with the wonderful research scientists that I've met through the breast cancer campaign, they've really always brought it into my head [to] eat well, don't eat too much, eat vegetables, eat healthily and move, just keep moving," she says.
She Incorporates Fruits & Veggies Into Each Meal
Hurley makes sure to eat healthy. She tells New Beauty that one of her secrets is incorporating a fruit or a vegetable into each meal. "If you have a slice of toast for breakfast, have an apple too," she explained. "Counteract everything with vegetables." "Apples are a good source of soluble fiber, which can lower blood cholesterol and glucose levels. Fresh apples are also a good source of vitamin C — an antioxidant that protects your body's cells from damage. Vitamin C also helps form the connective tissue collagen, keeps your capillaries and other blood vessels healthy, and aids in the absorption of iron," says the Mayo Clinic.
She Doesn't Snack
When it comes to her diet, Hurley is all about three meals each day. And nothing else. She tells Us Weekly that she avoids snacking and eating between meals. "So that's really my philosophy — and not eating between meals." "During a busy day, a healthy snack can calm hunger, provide energy and reduce the chances you'll eat less nutritious foods. But, before reaching for the next snack, ask yourself an important question. Do you really need a snack?" says the Mayo Clinic.
She Lives An Active Life
While Hurley doesn't always have time to do traditional exercises, she does stay active. She tells Us Weekly that she does a lot of small things that keep her blood flowing. "I do the dishes. I just do things like that. I don't do a lot of exercise per se, but I'm very active."
