Ellen has been accused of being "too thin" nearly her entire career. “I used to get a lot of criticism for how thin I was, and I didn’t have a lot of confidence because of it. “But I was naturally thin,” she told People. “I always thought it was irresponsible of the media to portray me as someone with an eating disorder because if some girls look up to me and think that’s what you have to do to look like me, it’s a horrifying concept,” she added. “I listened to the criticism a little too much—and this was pre-social media. It’s even crazier to think what women have to deal with now.”

Ellen takes care of her skin, but doesn’t get Botox or fillers. “For me, personally, I don’t do Botox or anything like that. It can’t be what’s on the outside, it’s gotta be what’s on the inside,” she told People. “I think when you’re in your ’20s and ’30s, you’re super obsessed with your looks because you don’t have any other wisdom,” she says. “I have the wisdom to know that growing old is a privilege that not everyone is afforded. If my physical beauty is the only thing that leaves me and my health and my family stay, then that is what’s really important to me.”
3. She Hydrates

Ellen is big on hydration. “The first thing I do when I wake up is: Have a glass of lemon water,” she told Who What Wear. She also has a special beauty trick that involves water. "I feel like I’ve always looked younger than I am, and now I’ve started seeing my skin change," Ellen explained to ITG. "Now I do this thing where I fill up a bowl of ice and alkaline water, and I take it to my bathroom, and I splash my face like 10 times, until my face feels frozen. I do it after [cleansing] and I just feel like it tightens everything. Didn’t the old movie stars used to do it? I got this idea that my face feels puffy and it’s sagging, so I thought, ‘Let me just freeze it!’"
4. Her Diet Is Vegan

Ellen doesn’t consume any animal products. “I just went for my yearly appointment a couple of weeks ago and [Dr. Kristi Funk] told me about her book. Since then my whole family has gone completely vegan,” Pompeo told People. “[Dr. Funk] told me she turned her three kids completely vegan and I came home from my appointment with her where she basically gave me [the information] … and I said, ‘That’s it, we’re all vegan.’” Her go-to meal before work? Vegan coconut yogurt with seeds and fruit, she told WWW.
