Singer Ellie Goulding is enjoying the summertime. One thing she’s doing is spending time by the beach. Goulding just posted a new photo to her Instagram story. In it, she wore a blue and white floral bathing suit, looking gorgeous. She captioned the photo with an animation saying “Beach day.” How does she stay so fit? 1. She Makes Smoothies

Goulding spilled her wellness secrets to The Cut. She says that she likes to make smoothies, especially in the mornings. “I’m not really a massive breakfast person but if I do it, I’ll go for something like fruit or a smoothie. I’ll shove a bunch of things in a NutriBullet — kale, cucumber, water. I try and have a smoothie every day, it’s really filling with protein powder. I love using Vega, because it is vegan and tastes fantastic, and maca powder. Spirulina doesn’t taste great but can easily be masked by a banana and some almond butter."
2. She’s Vegetarian

Goulding is open about being a vegetarian. She says that this doesn’t only help her eat healthy, but has expanded her approaches to wellness overall. “Being vegetarian opens you up to so much more,” she told The Cut. “As you think more about wellness and better ways to get your protein other than meat.”
3. She Keeps Her Energy Up

Goulding has a busy schedule, which means she has to do things to keep her energy up. She tells The Cut that she turns to juices and natural sugars to do so. “In the studio, I’ll have juices occasionally in the morning and try to stay healthy because you’re pretty much sitting down all day. The sugar content in juice is high, but I still think it is important to drink juices [rather than] eating refined sugar. The goodness is worth the sugar bloat!"
4. She’s More Comfortable With Herself

"I used to be harder on myself. As I’ve gotten more secure in my own skin and become better educated on wellness, my lifestyle has gradually changed. I’m definitely more confident than ever now, which is an amazing feeling," she has said.
5. She Avoids Heavy Carbs

Goulding isn’t the biggest fan of heavy carbs like pasta. She revealed on the Table Manners Podcast that she tries to avoid them for wellness reasons, not just for weight-loss reasons. "When I eat carbs - it's not just a vanity thing - I genuinely don't feel great when I have them. I feel like I'm someone who's naturally quite active. When I have big bowls of pasta and things like that I do feel like I've eaten a blanket or something really heavy."
