Slater revealed on Witney Carson’s website that she likes to do workouts that help with cardio and leg exercises. She says that walking is one of her favorite workouts for this reason. “Uphill walking and hiking I do a fair bit of.” Both of these workouts have a lot of health benefits. And the latest research confirms that walking can reduce cravings and intake of a variety of sugary snacks.”

5. She Eats Healthy

Slater broke down her typical diet in her interview on Witney Carson’s website. She says that she makes sure to eat healthy. “I’m a salad and fish person. Almond milk, banana, kale, spirtulina, Apple and plant based protein.”

Just two and a half hours per week of aerobic physical activity, such as swimming, bicycling, or running, can decrease the risk of chronic illnesses.”

3. She Stays Positive

Olivia Dunne is enjoying a little pool time as her Fall semester at LSU kicks in. The 19-year-old gymnast posted a photo of herself wearing a two-piece black swimsuit, captioning the shot, “Shell yea! @vuoriclothing.” How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Dunne stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. She Works Hard

“First, I wake up and go to the class, where I’m usually with my teammates. I study [at the communications center] and get schoolwork done,” Dunne tells the New York Post. “[After class] I come home, eat lunch and go right to the gym, where I train for hours. I have conditioning before or after practice, which takes place at football operations. Then, I go straight to the dining hall to eat dinner. After that, I come home [to my dorm] and do my work stuff at night. Making content is definitely time consuming. There’s 100s of takes and then you choose that perfect one for Instagram and TikTok. I probably take an hour or two to create content after practice. But some days I’m so busy, I can't do it all.”

2. She Loves To Surf

Dunne loves the water, and frequently posts pictures of herself surfing. “Surfing can definitely be considered a form of interval training which combines short, high intensity bursts of speed with a recovery phase, repeated during exercise training,” says CSUSM professor Dr. Sean Newcomer, who researches the health benefits of surfing. “Many surfers believe that while surfing is fun, it’s not necessarily a viable form of exercise on its own. This information has so far shown that surfing is very beneficial to the cardiovascular system and is a great part of a healthy lifestyle.”

3. She Scuba Dives

Dunne is fearless—the gymnast loves to scuba dive, sometimes even with sharks. "Seawater contains minerals such as magnesium, sodium, calcium, chloride, and sulfate that have natural benefits for the body," says Abe Malkin, MD. "Magnesium helps moisturize the skin and reduces inflammation. People with skin [issues] like eczema or dryness are recommended to take regular baths in salted solutions or swim in the sea."

4. She Enjoys Swimming

Dunne loves to swim, especially in the ocean. ”Swimming is the fourth most popular sports activity in the United States and a good way to get regular aerobic physical activity,” says the CDC. “Just two and a half hours per week of aerobic physical activity, such as swimming, bicycling, or running, can decrease the risk of chronic illnesses. This can also lead to improved health for people with diabetes and heart disease. Swimmers have about half the risk of death compared with inactive people. People report enjoying water-based exercise more than exercising on land. They can also exercise longer in water than on land without increased effort or joint or muscle pain.”

5. She Loves Meeting New People

2022 ESPYs - ArrivalsAxelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic

Dunne enjoys making new friends, and subverting their expectations of her. “I feel like people can look at me and be like, ‘Oh, she always posts pictures of herself. She’s that gymnast.’ But, whenever I meet new people, they’re always surprised, like, ‘Oh, I didn’t think you talk that much,’ or, ‘I didn’t know you were this friendly.’ I love meeting new people, I really do,” she says.

British professional snowboarder Jenny Jones just had a magical trip to Wales, UK, where she enjoyed one of her favorite non-snow water activities. Jones, 43, shared pictures from her vacation, including ones of her paddleboarding in the ocean, wearing a black bikini and big smile. “🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Wales ❤️ Beautiful #nefyn What a trip to finish off the summer holidays. Sun, wind, rain and wobbles… still building back the core muscles… slow and steady on the paddle-board… It's been great fun although I definitely still need to improve 😂. Not long until back on a surfboard AND the winter snowboard workshops are around the corner !!! What trip are you all finishing your summer holidays with? Surf, skate, SUP, beach, mountain, camping?? #SUP,” she captioned the post. Jones is Great Britain’s first ever Winter Olympic medalist on snow—here’s how she trains like the champion she is.

1. Lunges and Squats

Jones recommends working on lunges and squats on anyone who wants to become an exceptional snowboarder. “It’s a great idea to do some pre-trip snow-specific training to get your body ready for the slopes,” she says. “Try exercises such as single leg lunges, squats and hamstring strengthening to build up power in your legs, as well as dynamic and explosive body weight jumping routines and core exercises, including rotational movements. It’s always great to get some lessons if you’re an intermediate or advanced rider who wants to improve. Check out the two snowboard specific workshops I am running in the French Alps this year, alongside a group of handpicked experts who will share the training technique that led to my successful snowboarding career.”

2. Mindfulness For Success

Jones focuses on the mental as well as physical aspect of training and competing. “I think there has been a huge link in all areas of my snowboarding, in freestyle, backcountry riding and in competition,” she says. “How you mentally approach a new trick or a steep, off-piste mountain descent can greatly affect the outcome. In some areas, I have naturally found I enjoy the challenges and at other times I have struggled, for example dealing with fear after injury. I also found it really helpful to understand what motivates me and why, as this, in turn, helps with goal setting. If your approach to something is mentally or physically in line then it is more likely to have positive results. I think I really use visualization techniques I have learnt for snowboarding with surfing, although I also think surfing lends itself to calming the mind and giving you focus as you’re usually surrounded by beautiful scenery, ocean settings and you’re away from all the distractions of technology.”

3. Surfing Queen

Jones says regular surfing has only improved her snowboarding. “[Surfing taught me] the importance of core stability and how your core strength works, and the difference that weight distribution makes,” she says. “In my case it's about how your core helps you to make the movements you want to make on a board, and about how to distribute your weight – what difference does it make if I move back here or if I stay centered. That sort of thing.”

4. Japanese Onsen

Jones highly recommends the hot springs in Japan as the ultimate way to relax and rejuvenate tired muscles. “There are few pleasures in life greater than slipping into an onsen,” she says. “These natural hot spring water pools may be indoor or outdoor, and are the perfect antidote to tired muscles and after a hard day on the hill, this is the fastest route to a state of zen-like calm and bliss. Most onsen are single sex and many don’t allow people with tattoos, but the Niseko Grand Hotel has a wonderful rotenburo – an outdoor hot spring – that welcomes boys, girls and ink. But no cameras!”

5. She’s a Role Model

Jones is proud of representing women in her sport. “I never liked that whole argument of men and women this that and the other, I like the fact our sport is for men and women and we ride together all the time and get involved in checking out the course and doing jumps together in that respect it’s good,” she says. “But as a woman showing that I could ride this big slopestyle course and be technical and land on my feet and show that I’m doing well in a sport that’s an action sport I think the reaction is…well what I was shocked at was the reaction from so many girls that’s probably because it was all in the papers and on all these front covers, how often do you get snowboarding and a girl on the front cover of a newspaper, how cool is that?”

Sophie Piper is embracing island life – in her swimsuit. In a new social media post, the Love Island beauty shows off her fantastic figure in a swimsuit during a tropical vacation at Kandima Maldives with Josh Ritchie. “Island life,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps taken at the picturesque resort. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

She Doesn't Go Under the Knife

Sophie claims she hasn’t gone under the knife. “It’s your own body, you can do what you want to,” she told Grazia, weighing in on the show’s reputation for girls getting work done. “I wouldn’t have surgery myself; I don’t want it. I’ve got such a low pain tolerance as well; I’d be squirming around.”

She Gets Her Steps In

Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Sophie loves paddle boarding. The American Council on Exercise (ACE) agrees that paddle boarding is great for the core and cardio. Water sports can burn an average of 385 calories for a 140-pound male and 436 calories for a female of the same size, per a study conducted by Arizona State University.

She Skis

When Sophie hits the mountains, she throws on a pair of skis. “Ski club,” she captioned a photo. Research has linked downhill skiing to several health benefits. In addition to promoting physical fitness, it may decrease the risk of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Studies have also found that the more frequently a person skis, the prevalence of known hypercholesterolemia, systemic hypertension, diabetes, the frequency of mental stress, and the occurrence of memory deficits decline.

She Loves Group Fitness

“You’ve got to be body confident,” Sophie told Grazia. One of her favorite sweat methods? Group fitness. “A few gym classes can’t hurt,” she said.

She Goes Snorkeling

On her recent Maldives vacation, Sophie and Josh snorkeled in the crystal clear water. Surprisingly, putting on a snorkel and fins and swimming through the water is a great workout. In addition to being a great aerobic exercise and burning calories, other health benefits may include improved cardiovascular function, stress reduction, mood enhancement, and muscular toning.

Tammy Hembrow is a fitness influencer and expert. She has her own app, called Tammy Fit. Hembrow has a lot of challenges on her app. Recently, she advertised a challenge with a workout video on Instagram. Hembrow captioned the post, “We are 3 days into our first @tammyfitapp challenge of the year & I am more motivated than everrrrr. (Sign ups are still open if you haven’t joined yet - there’s still time to catch up!! - link in bio). Soooo happy seeing so many of my girlies (and guys) in this challenge doing it with me!! And I CANNOT wait to see everyone’s results at the end of the 8 weeks. We got thissss 💪🏼”

She Does Pulldowns

Hembrow is seen doing pulldowns in her Instagram video. Piedmont reports that pulldowns have a lot of benefits. “The lat pulldown is a fantastic exercise for strengthening the latissimus dorsi muscle, the broadest muscle in your back. This muscle promotes good posture and spinal stability. Form is crucial when performing a lat pulldown to prevent injury and reap the best results.”

She Lifts Weights

Tammy Hebrew is seen using dumbbells.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen doing a lot of exercises with weights in her Instagram video. ACE Fitness states that using weights to workout has a lot of benefits. “Strength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle’s appearance.”

She Tracks Her Meals

Hembrow likes to track her meals on her app. She talked about the benefits of this in the caption of this “What I Eat In A Day” Instagram video. “Make sure to take advantage of the calorie/macro tracking features in the @tammyfitapp during this challenge guys. It can be really helpful in reaching specific goals quicker. And it also can help educate you on your food choices when it comes to nutrition, ratios, hidden calories, overeating or under eating etc. honestly I’d recommend any beginner try it out just to get a good feel for how you’re fuelling your body!! I feel like when people think of ‘meal tracking’ it can be seen as something that seems restrictive or something only bodybuilders do. When in reality it can be such a helpful tool and you can learn things that will actually encourage long term habits 🫶🏼🫶🏼”

She Loves Bananas

Tammy Hebrew has a banana snack.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen enjoying bananas in her “What I Eat In A Day” Instagram video. The Cleveland Clinic states that bananas have a lot of benefits. “A single medium-sized banana offers about 32 mg of the mineral magnesium, which fulfills around 8% to 10% of your daily magnesium requirement. Magnesium is involved in many processes in your body, including: Blood pressure. Blood sugar levels. Building proteins. Maintaining bone. Muscle function. Nerve function.”

She Loves Cottage Cheese

Tammy Hebrew's snack the contains banana and cottage cheese.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen enjoying her bananas with cottage cheese in the previous Instagram video. Cottage cheese is very healthy. UCLA Health reports, “Cottage cheese’s protein content and low calories make it an ideal food for weight management. Research shows that whether you are trying to lose weight or reduce your risk of overweight or obesity, eating a high-protein diet can help you feel full and satisfied for longer.”

It’s hard to believe that Jennifer Aniston is 55 and turning 56 in February! Since soaring to fame in 1994, the Friends star has hardly aged in the three decades that have passed – and she has never been secretive about her devotion to health and wellness. Her hard work over the years has paid off through her strong and lean body and ageless looks. Here is everything you need to know about Jennifer Aniston’s approach to longevity.

She Maintains a High Protein Diet

"My nutrition is very much the same. It's usually a lot of high protein, vegetables, salads, soups,” she tells People. “I do 80/20. I give myself days where I can have whatever I want. I don’t deprive myself,” she added to TODAY. Why should you consider amping up your protein intake? According to clinical trials, consuming more protein than the recommended dietary allowance not only reduces body weight (BW) but also enhances body composition by decreasing fat mass while preserving fat-free mass (FFM) in both low-calorie and standard-calorie diets.

She Cheats on Occasion

Jennifer allows herself to indulge in “everything I would possibly want on a weekend,” she told People. Her cheat meal “depends,” she says. “I mean, dare I sound repetitive, but Mexican food is a real favorite of mine. It's not even that much of a cheat, to be honest. Or a cheeseburger or pizza or pasta — all that stuff.”

“My bigger challenge is sleep. I think that’s all part of our nutritional hygiene — the amount of water we get as well as the amount of sleep we get. It’s the combination of all of those things that make your workouts the most effective," she told TODAY.

“I’ve become gentler with myself,” she says of her approach to fitness, which has “definitely evolved” over the years. “I find that I can be gentler on my body and still get the benefits of a great workout,” she told Prevention. She specifically loves P.Volve workouts, a functional fitness that helps you “function throughout the day” and “work out your essential muscle groups to keep your body strong,” she says. “So you can live a long, healthy, strong life.”

She Hydrates

Aniston prioritizes hydration, drinking a whopping 100 ounces of water per day. "But occasionally I just have to have a Diet Coke—there's nothing like it!" According to the Mayo Clinic, hydration is essential for various reasons. Water helps eliminate waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature regular, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues.

She Does Pilates, Spinning, Elliptical, and Running Workouts

“I had an injury last fall and I was only able to do Pilates, which I absolutely love. But I was missing that kind of sweat when you just go for it,” she recently told InStyle. “I'm going back to my 15-15-15, which is a 15-minute spin, elliptical, run. And then just old school: I can chase myself around a gym. I need some kind of movement, even if it's just 10 minutes a day on a trampoline.”
