Carly Rowena is sharing some relationship tips in her workout gear. In a new social media post the fitness influencer gets real about sex, sharing some insider tips on how to spice up your sex life. “Great advice,” commented one of her followers. “Thank you for this information,” adds another. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here are her top tips for staying in shape.


1. Prep Your Meals Ahead of Time

Carly recommends meal prepping in order to “eat healthily” on a budget. She explains that “it comes down to thought and preparation. My top tip is to pick one day in the week where you can take an hour out and meal prep,” she told The Sun. “My go-to recipe is a one tray bake; pop your fish, meat or tofu into one corner and your veggies in the other, leave in the oven for 30 - 40 minutes and then serve into Tupperware boxes to keep you going through the week. If you hate the thought of having the same thing every day, over cook in the evenings to give yourself leftovers for lunch OR team up with a work colleague or friend and take it in turns to create lunch, meaning you can do it in bulk, change it up and share the cost.”

2. Create a “Gym Kit”

“No-one ever wants to leave the comfort of their bed in the morning. The best way to make sure it happens is to have your gym kit (including pants and socks!) set out ready, or even against the radiator to make it extra inviting to pop on during colder mornings,” Carly recommends. “Also include a post-workout snack like a banana, smoothie or peanut butter sachet and have your proposed workout written down. If you know what you’re going to do, you’re less likely to talk yourself out of it and feel even more smug at the thought that you’ve worked out while everyone else is still asleep.”

3. Minimize Sugar Intake

Cutting back on sugar “will have huge health benefits,” according to Carly. However “cutting it out completely and aiming to go cold turkey will leave most of us craving and crashing,” she says. “Top tip, instead of thinking about everything you have to cut out, start looking at what you can add in. I find the easiest way to make food changes is to focus on adding new ingredients and trying new recipes or snacks. That way over time the more processed or sugar based foods start to phase out and the good stuff stays in. For those of you who can’t figure how to make a start, write a list of your three favorite foods or sugar based treats, then schedule in a weekly treat but also do research to find ways of making your own healthier alternative.”

4. Ride Horses

During a recent “girls trip,” Carly went horseback riding. According to the American Heart Association, riding horses is great for your health. Not only does it boost cardiovascular health, but builds core strength, burns calories, and lowers blood pressure. It is also great for your mental health as it helps relax you.

5. Do Yoga

Carly is really into yoga and recently introduced classes on her app. Why should you consider taking a yoga class? “Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years, gained less weight during middle adulthood,” says Harvard Health. “People who were overweight actually lost weight. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness. Mindful eating can lead to a more positive relationship with food and eating.”
