Fitness Influencer Rachel Brathen in Two-Piece Workout Gear Shares "a Whole New Version of Me"
Fitness Influencer and yoga enthusiast, Rachel Brathen, works hard to keep herself on the right path. On Instagram, she said "yogagirl.com is still the yoga platform you know and love, and it's where my online courses and classes continue to live – but as that platform continues to evolve into something much bigger than just me, I realized I wanted my own little corner of the internet again. Something for my podcasts, for my retreats; and a place to share what's on my mind and my heart. An online home of my own. So there it is. A little website. A winter retreat. And a whole new version of me❤️❄️THANK YOU for being here as I change and grow." Here's how she continues to build healthy habits.
She gets outside with her child
On a video of her spending time outdoors, hiking with her baby, having a picnic and exploring, she recognizes that it's important to appreciate the moment. "The days are long, but the years are short. As a stay at home mom who tries to work from home (emphasis on *tries*) I often find myself getting stuck in the rut of doing the same thing every day. Whenever I'm having a hard day, or when I feel frustrated with the mess of it all, I remind myself that this season of my life is actually so short. So, so short. The days are long and the years are gone like THAT. I literally don't know where they all go," she said on Instagram.
She works on the farm
She stays active while working on the farm. "A realistic day of farm chores! For me, farm chores either look like one or two intense hours a day where I do everything all at once, or it's a casual day of fluttering between everything that needs to get done while enjoying our time outside. Bear tags along and is so helpful – he's in this beautiful age now where he loves to have his own tasks and wants to help with everything. His favorite thing is collecting the eggs every morning," she said on a video on Instagram of her doing farm chores.
She makes healthy choices
She enjoys cooking fun meals packed with protein. "BANANA EGGS! Or the most protein-rich porridge you've ever had. I know this sounds weird as hell but just trust me: if you make it right it's incredible. The key here is to slow cook the eggs so you get a creamy texture (like porridge or oatmeal!) and you eat it in a bowl with cold milk. If you scramble it hard it's just going to be scrambled eggs that taste like bananas (which is ok but not as good as this!) 🍌," she said on Instagram.
She has fresh honey
She takes care of her own bees. "Our first honey harvest!🍯🐻😍I thought tending to bees would be complicated and daunting but honestly, it's been an absolutely incredible experience. So far, not a single downside! Caring for the bees has taught me so much, and as I learn more and more I just get more and more excited. Our little farm has just come alive since the bees moved in and I think we will have a few more hives come next year☺️ and no one has been stung (yet)! We have a very peaceful queen and spending time with the hive feels like a form of meditation. For our midsummer harvest we got 10kg (22lbs) of fresh honey! With tons left in the hive, of course. I can't wait to continue this journey. If you've been thinking of tending to a hive this is your sign! 🐝❤️ #honey #honeybee #honeybees #beehive #homestead #nature," she said on Instagram. According to the Mayo Clinic, "honey contains mostly sugar, as well as a mix of amino acids, vitamins, minerals, iron, zinc and antioxidants. In addition to its use as a natural sweetener, honey is used as an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antibacterial agent. People commonly use honey orally to treat coughs and topically to treat burns and promote wound healing."
She's intentional
She sets her intentions each year. "An intention setting practice is simply turning your longing to live an intentional life into ritual. Sit down today, tomorrow, or anytime this week to feel into what you want to create in 2024 and find your intention, affirmation and word of the year," she said on Instagram.
