Florence Pugh in Bathing Suit is "Not Coming Back"

Here’s how the actress stays fit.

Florence Pugh is having a blast in Ibiza and she's not alone. "Not coming back," read the caption of a photo she reshared, from actor Archie Madekwe. Madekwe co-starred in Pugh in the horror classic Midsommar, as did another pal, Will Poulter, also hanging with her on vacay. (We hope they don't hit an ancestral commune in Hälsingland next.) How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Florence Pugh stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

She Controls the Narrative When It Comes to Her Body

Florence explained to Elle UK that she likes to call the shots when it comes to her body. After being cast in Black Widow, she explained to Elle UK that she had questions about the physical aspect of the role. "When I got the job, I wanted to know what the regime was," she explained. "I wanted to know whether it was them or me calling the shots. That was a big deal for me. I didn't want to be part of something where I was constantly checked on. And people making sure I was in the 'right' shape. That's not me at all."

She Cooks Her Own Food

Florence makes her own meals, versus having a chef prepare them for her. "Scarlett [Johansson] had this amazing guy who cooked beautiful things for her and her team," she told Elle UK. "I thought that was clever because you're doing fitness all the time and you need to have someone who's on top of what you're eating and the nutrients you're getting. I remember her asking: 'Why are you cooking for yourself? Just let us feed you!' And I was like, 'Nope.'" "Genuinely, my therapeutic thing is chopping and cooking and stirring and tasting."

She Works Out Al Fresco

Florence has revealed that she does a variety of workouts to stay in shape, including kettlebells. One way she eases the pain of exercise? Bringing her workout session outdoors. "Kettlebells give people more variety in their workouts and offer different variations of body mechanics that allow muscle groups that haven't been previously targeted to be isolated and challenged," says physical therapist Tyler Hewett to the Cleveland Clinic.

She Hikes

Florence makes sure to enjoy herself, even while exercising. "Finding the little things that keep me smiling. It's so important," she wrote in a recent Instagram post. Discovering adventures in the trees and the leaves is my HEAVEN.Go biking, go swimming, go to the beach, go to the woods, eat that Gyros with extra tsatziki, climb a mountain, watch Bojack Horseman, have a long bath, cook a Sunday Roast, make some toast at 10pm..DO IT. Allow the smiles."

She Kickboxes

To prepare for her role in Black Widow, Florence decided to get in fighting form. She did so by engaging in two hour long kickboxing session with her trainer, James Shields, Florence shared on an episode of Sue Perkins' podcast, per Insider. To do a front kick, "start with fists by the chin and feet positioned hip-distance apart. Lift the right knee toward the chest and extend the knee to kick to the front, aiming with the ball of the foot. Return the leg quickly by bending the knee and placing the foot on the floor. Repeat on the other side," says ACE Fitness.
