Aasen avoids meat and sticks to other sources of protein such as chickpeas. “Chickpeas are also an excellent source of non-animal protein,” says Patricia Bridget Lane, RDN, LD/N. “They’re great for vegetarians and vegans.”
5. Independent Spirit
Aasen says her career as a model (she was discovered at age 14) helped her get over self-consciousness as a young girl. “It has given me a lot of independence from a young age,” she says. “Shown me how to connect socially and on a business level with people from all backgrounds/ages etc. I think it’s been such a blessing especially to be able to be young and travel the world and experience so many different cultures and people.”
