While Collins seems like a confident person, she admits on the Secure The Insecure podcast that she has days where she feels low. She says, “Some days you have an off day. You know, you're just like, 'Oh, I look really ugly today, I don't feel myself.' Just this strange stuff, like, ‘my life seems really good, is it suddenly going to go wrong? Am I good enough to do this job? Am I confident?’ You know, everyone has it, so when people see me, like performing on TV and stuff, before that, you do sometimes doubt yourself a little bit.” Collins says that she has a way to get herself away from that feeling. “I just take a deep breath and I go, 'I've got nothing to lose. I've just got to do this.' But you know, I wouldn't be human if you didn't have the down days, you know?”

If you can find steps whether it’s in your home or at a park, you can just do things with it."

5. She Stays Motivated

1. Carrie Underwood: Count Macros Instead of Calories

2021 CMT Music Awards - Red CarpetGetty Images

Country darling Carrie Underwood ditched calorie counting and instead started keeping track of macros. “I would ‘fall off the wagon,’ then feel terrible and repeat the cycle,” she explained to Women’s Health about her struggles with trying to stay slim in her younger years, sometimes eating as few as 800 calories per day. “Your body is screaming ‘I need more calories. I need more carbs!’" The “wannabe vegan” works with nutritionist Cara Clark, focusing on maintaining a healthy balance of 25 percent protein, 45 percent carbs and 30 percent fat. "I love rules," she admitted to Women’s Health.

2. Jennifer Lopez: Work Out “Harder and Smarter”

Jennifer Lopez has adapted her fitness regiment over the years. However, instead of working out more, she is smarter about her workouts. "In my 20s and 30s I used to work out but not like I do now. It's not that I work out more; I just work out harder and smarter,” she told InStyle. “And it doesn't take me as long as it did in the past. I do it more for my health than I do for looks, which is funny. When you do things for the right reasons, you actually look better!"

3. Vanessa Hudgens: Work Out with Others

Vanessa Hudgens can afford to pay a personal trainer for one-on-one workouts, but opts for group fitness and workout buddies instead. "I'm the type of person that needs to be in a class," Vanessa told Popsugar. "I need someone telling me what to do, and I love being in a group environment because I'm very competitive, so it pushes me to work harder than I would if I was by myself." The 32-year-old is a devotee of The Dogpound, a hardcore boot camp style studio The Dogpound she regularly visits with her friends. "HOT GIRL SUMMER IN FULL EFFECT," the gym recently wrote on Instagram, sharing a video of sweating alongside GG Magree in an intense HIIT workout.

4. Rebel Wilson: Approach Weight Loss From All Sides...Including Emotional

2020 AACTA Awards Presented by Foxtel | Television Ceremony

Working out and eating right are only part of the equation to weight loss, per actress Rebel Wilson, who lost a whopping 60 pounds in less than a year. While she majorly revamped her diet and embarked on a fitness routine, it was the work she did on the instead that helped her achieve her goals. "I think because I approached it from all areas ... the biggest thing that I haven't ever worked on was the emotional side, what I suffered from, I guess, as classical emotional eating … so I really worked on that side," she told Extra.

5. Rita Ora: Focus On Strength, Not Weight Loss

Coin Cloud Cocktail Party Hosted by Artist and Actor CommonGetty Images

Instead of trying to lose weight or get to a certain clothing size, Rita Ora suggests putting your focus on getting stronger. "I didn't start working out to get skinnier—I started working out to feel better. And I think it's important for women to know that,” she told Shape. “Don't be obsessed with being thin. You just have to be fit, healthy, and strong," she said. "I love my shape because it's curvy. I have thighs. I'm a size 28 in jeans. And that's an average, normal size. I'm proud that I'm normal."

6. Kate Hudson: Move a Little Every Day

Kate Hudson has always been devoted to fitness. One of her stay-fit secrets? She moves every day. "Now that Rani is getting a little bit older and her nap schedule is longer, I've been able to work out at least 30 minutes a day, maybe five times a week,” she told InStyle. “I make sure that I don't go a day without doing something for 30 minutes. I've been doing that since April and I've noticed enormous changes in my body."

7. Jessica Simpson: Get Your Steps In

Create & Cultivate Los AngelesGetty Images

After tipping the scales at 240 pounds during her pregnancy with third child, Birdie Mae, Jessica Simpson started walking her way to a 100-pound weight loss with the help of trainer Harley Pasternak. He started off by setting her goal at 6,000 steps and then eventually upping it to 14,000. "It had to be more than just getting back from her baby weight, but how do I keep whatever I am doing now forever. That's why we are not a big fan of doing any extreme diet or radical forms of exercise,” he told E! about the weight loss strategy he developed for the star, which also included healthy eating, sleep, and full body workouts. “Woke up before all 3 kiddos to get my steps in and spend time with me, myself, and I. Move move move for your own mental health,” she captioned a 2020 Instagram post.

8. Halle Berry: You Have to Commit

Halle Berry, 54, looks half her age. According to the star, her biggest secret to staying in shape is her commitment to healthy living, including workouts with her trainer, Peter Lee Thomas, diet tips, and healthy living mantras. “You just have to have the will and the desire,” she told Harper’s Bazaar about what it takes to stay fit. “And you have to make up your mind that it's important. That's the hard work that people have to do."

9. Nicole Scherzinger: Everything in Moderation

FOX's The Masked Singer - Season FiveGetty Images

"Don't deprive yourself of anything because eventually you'll crave it and then you might binge on it. Everything in moderation," Nicole Scherzinger told Women's Health UK about her dietary rule. "For breakfast I love eggs and toast and smoked salmon or bacon, or porridge. For lunch I like maybe some soup or some sushi. For dinner, anything from pasta to rice, and meats and veggies, to sushi. When I'm going to indulge, I love pasta, pizza, I love Mexican with lots of cheese. I love French fries, or crisps – salt and vinegar crisps. In terms of snacks: almonds, coconut water, bits of coconut, baby carrots."

10. Gabrielle Union: Don’t Commit to One Workout Only

2021 Billboard Music Awards - BackstageGetty Images

Gabrielle Union allows her workout routine to evolve. "As the workout phases come and go, I'll try everything," she previously told Women's Health. "Nothing, not one thing, has stuck. I've tried kickboxing, cardio barre, I've tried a SoulCycle class...I'm not a class person." In a 2019 Instagram post, she also revealed that her motivations for exercise are also evolving. “There are times I workout for a job or specific athletic goals but usually I workout to maintain my peace. Sometimes i grunt, grimace, scream...many times I've cried while training. I've cried due to frustration. I've cried from physical pain. Many times I've cried as my fears and anxiety leave my body. For me, I'm always working out my spirit and exercising my soul. This morning felt like the end of a week of taking Ls, but today I got up and reminded myself that even when I lose, I win because I'm committed to learning and evolving,” she wrote.

Valerie Bertinelli is revealing the secret to winning her weight gain battle. The 61-year-old star and Food Network host has famously struggled with her weight for most of her life, losing weight and then gaining it back again. But two years ago, the self-proclaimed “most famous dieter in America,” came to realize her self-worth and made a single sacrifice that completely changed her life and ended her weight war. Read on to find out Valerie Bertinelli’s secret to winning her weight gain wars and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. She Had Been Trying to Lose the Same 10 Pounds for Forty Years

In a new interview with People and an excerpt from her upcoming memoir, Enough Already, Bertinelli reveals that she started 2020 off on a mission: to lose 10 lbs., "the same 10 lbs. I had been trying to lose for the past forty years," she said. She walked over her scale and had a revelation: "No. I can't be doing this again." It was then she realized tying her self-worth to numbers on the scale was making her fail.

2. She Decided to Live in the Moment Instead of According to the Scale

"The goal is to live in the moment, and not according to the scale," she continued. In October 2020 she lost her ex-husband Eddie Van Halen, and realized losing weight wouldn’t help with grief either. "There is no magic number that will make me feel good about myself," she said.

3. She Is Prioritizing Self-Love

Bertinelli explains in her book that she is prioritizing self-love. "I'm done judging myself," she writes. "I want to be kinder and more accepting of myself."

4. She Has a History of Disordered Eating

Discovery Upfront 2018 - NYCDimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images

Valerie explains that when she became a spokesperson for Jenny Craig at the age of 47, it wasn’t for the right reasons. "I wasn't trying to get healthy or deal with the reasons I had gained weight over the years. I had split from Ed and I refused to take money from him. As a single working mom I needed to make money. Jenny Craig was a good job,” she writes. She lost a whopping 50 pounds in two years, and in 2009, posed in a bikini for the cover of People. "I started to gain weight as soon as the photo shoot ended,” she continues. "I was starving myself and doing twice a day workouts. Some people can look like that without doing that but not me. And there is shame for being part of the problem to make other people think they could do it. I bought into it hook, line and sinker, but I didn't take care of my head and my heart and I think it really starts with that.”

5. We Need to “Dismantle” Diet Culture

An,Empty,Blue,Plate,With,A,Fork,And,A,Knife.Shutterstock

"I have a lot of decades of thinking I have to look a certain way for people to accept me and to like me,” she writes. "We're all part of this diet culture that isn't actually helping us, our mental or emotional health. I'm trying to dismantle all of the things I learned that are ingrained in me. And I've learned there are many people that feel the same exact way that I do. Some of us were taught the wrong things."

6. She Gave Up the Scale

Celebrities Visit Build - August 21, 2019Dominik Bindl/Getty Images

Ultimately, her secret to winning her weight gain wars was simple. "I gave up the damn scale," she says. "I haven't weighed myself since I finished writing the book and all I know is every time I put on my jeans, they fit. I don't have to lay back and put them on! Every time I want to get on the scale, I think, 'Why would you do that Valerie?' Because it's not about the number. There's not going to be before and after photos. Whatever happens happens," she continued. "This is what I am. Right now. Today."

Emily Simpson has been documenting her fitness journey and recently shared she's lost 40 pounds. The Real Housewives of Orange star posted a compilation video showing off her progress throughout the last few months and wrote, “Around age 42 I gained 40 pounds and it wasn’t until now (age 47) that I was able to finally get it off and feel like my old self again…,” She added “Just to be clear though… I rocked a bathing suit on TV for 5 years and never felt ugly or not confident in myself or my body. Not once.” Simpson contributes the weight gain to hormones and has worked hard to shed the unwanted pounds. Here's how the TV personality dropped the weight. Read on.

1. She Was Ready to Make a Change

In an interview with Us Weekly, Simpson shared that the reason for wanting to lose weight was that she didn't recognize herself. “We finished filming in November [2022] and I remember we filmed the title cards and our showrunner sent a photo of me that he took with his cell phone. And honestly, I didn’t even recognize myself,” she explained. “I was like, ‘Who is that?’ And then I was like, ‘Oh, that’s me.’ I really neglected myself those four months that we were filming. I ate too much, drank too much, didn’t go to the gym, didn’t work out and I felt really down, really depressed, really dark when we finished filming.”

2. She Hit the Gym

Simpson ditched some of her unhealthy habits and started working out more. “I cut out a lot of things and I go to the gym seven days a week and work out," she told the outlet. "I work out like I’m training for a fitness competition. … That’s kind of the whole story.”

3. She Took Ozempic

Ozempic,Insulin,Injection,Pen,Or,Insulin,Cartridge,Pen,For,Diabetics.Shutterstock

The 47-year-old admits to taking Ozempic to "jumpstart" her goals but said she didn't take it for long. “The thing that bothers me the most is that when people comment on the way that I look, they constantly say, ‘Ozempic, Ozempic,’ she told Us Weekly. "And it’s like, yes, I did use that nine months ago or however many months ago it was, but I don’t like that it discounts all the hard work I put in."

4. She's Consistent

Since starting her wellness regime, Simpson has been dedicated and consistently going to the gym daily. "I don’t care if you say that all you want," she emphasized, referring to her taking Ozempic. "But at least gimme credit for seven days a week, getting up at 6 a.m. every morning and busting my butt in the gym every single day.”

5. She Got Lipo

While Simpson has been making healthier food choices and working out daily, she did admit to having cosmetic surgery done. "The liposuction [in my arms] was helpful,” she told Us.

Toni Breidinger is no stranger to pushing limits, whether she’s dominating the racetrack or powering through an intense workout. The NASCAR driver and social media star isn’t just about speed—she’s also serious about strength, endurance, and staying mentally sharp. In her latest update, Breidinger gave fans a glimpse of her exercise routine, proving that her fitness game is just as strong as her driving skills. From explosive box jumps to tracking her progress with fitness apps, she follows a well-rounded approach to training that keeps her in peak condition. But it’s not just about the physical—her mindset plays a huge role in her success. Here’s a look at the habits that keep her at the top of her game.

She Doesn’t Let Pressure Get To Her

Breidinger tells Marin Living that she doesn’t let the pressures of racing get to her, and that this has helped with her career. “I don’t really feel added pressure, more like a sense of responsibility to pave the way so other minorities have better opportunity to come up through motor sports,” she says on how she feels about her groundbreaking status. “I take a lot of pride to be able to represent in NASCAR and it’s amazing how much support I’ve received from Arab girls and women.”

She’s Motivated

Breidinger is extremely motivated when it comes to her career. She talked about where this comes from to The Modems. “I am very ambitious and stubborn so I feel like I naturally keep myself motivated to reach my goals, but I also have my bad days where motivation is just a struggle. I’m lucky because the people I surround myself with are always there to lift me up and keep me on a positive mindset.”

She’s Positive

Breidinger is a big believer in having a positive mindset. She tells The Modems that this is one of the reasons for her success. “I’ve gotten so much good career advice over the years but the best one was, ‘Mindset is what separates the best from the rest’. I always knew a positive mindset was important but I never really applied it to my life until this year and it really has changed my life for the better. It sounds cliché but I swear by it.”

She Tracks Her Fitness

Breidinger tells The Modems that she likes to use fitness apps to track her wellness. “I’ve used MyFitnessPal to track macros, which was helpful when I started to get serious about my nutrition. I also use MapMyRun to record all my runs so I can keep track of those as well. It’s so handy to be able to keep track of all my health goals easily all in my phone.”

She Does Box Jumps

According to NASM, plyometrics have a lot of benefits. “Of the many benefits of plyometric training, some of the more recognized are: increased vertical jump height, increased long jump distance, increased strength, improved running speed, agility, and quickness, injury reduction, improved throwing, hitting, striking velocity.”

De Bortoli recently changed her hair color. She explained why in the caption of this Instagram post. “The good thing about this color is that it does not require frequent touch-ups and it easily adapts to natural hair growth, it is versatile and can enhance any body and face shape 🧡for those who are tired of blonde or brown, bronde is the solution to change harmony without distortion 🤍for those who have a fair complexion, the most golden tone is recommended 🤎 for the dark complexion, on the other hand, more ash brown ❤️ 🔥what can I say... For me the bronde conquered, and what do you think?”

She Cooks

De Bortoli likes to cook, and she was taught to do so by her grandmother. She shared this video on Instagram of herself and her grandmother cooking together. De Bortoli captioned it, “Grandparents are wealth in society, my grandmother loves to cook and do it with her since I was a child. She has always inspired my creativity, patience, discipline and order but above all traditions, history, and the concreteness of nature's gifts. The greatest teaching my grandparents passed on to me is respect for people, the environment, animals and the kitchen... Today together we made Carnival Frittelle, an easy, quick dessert that adults and kids love. The ingredients are few and simple (but of high quality) and, trust me, the result is guaranteed: nice round but above all soft and tasty.”

She Works Her Abs

De Bortoli shared this video of herself working out on Instagram. In it, she is seen doing core exercises like sit-ups. Core exercises are extremely important. The Mayo Clinic says, “Strong core muscles make it easier to do many activities. When your core muscles are strong, it's easier to swing a golf club, get a glass from the top shelf and bend down to tie your shoes. Strong core muscles help athletes, such as runners. That's because weak core muscles can lead to more fatigue, less endurance and injuries.”

She Works Out With Others

In the previous Instagram video, De Bortoli is seen working out with a friend. Better Health says that this has a lot of benefits. “You’re less likely to get bored when you have a workout buddy, especially a friend. While you’re catching up, having a laugh, encouraging each other, you’re also getting healthier. It’s a win-win. Chatting to a friend during exercise and breaks can help time pass quickly too. You’ll have more options as well, such as a game of tennis or squash.”

Kristin Cavallari is a reality TV and fashion icon. Since she debuted on Laguna Beach, people have clamoured for her fashion and beauty secrets. Cavallari recently shared her eye makeup secrets on Instagram, after several people asked for them. She captioned the post, “This is for the girlies in my DMs asking about this eye every time I do it. Sorry the lighting is awful. I also don’t know why the audio isn’t in sync for half of it 🫣 but here ya go 💗”

She's Less Strict With Her Diet

Cavallari has written several cookbooks, and they have changed as her diet has changed. While promoting her book, Truly Simple with EatingWell, she revealed that her diet is less strict. “I've gotten to a point in my life where not everything has to be so perfect anymore,” Cavallari said. “I used to be so strict about what I was putting in my body. I'm still very healthy and very conscious of it, but I've gotten a little bit more lax. True Roots and True Comfort had nothing ‘white’ in them: no white flour, no white sugar, no white salt. But in Truly Simple, I bend a little bit in a few of the recipes, which really reflects where I am in my life and my new way of eating. Everything is a little bit more relaxed around here now.’

She Loves Cauliflower

Cavallari tells EatingWell that she loves making foods with cauliflower. “I love cauliflower because I think it's very versatile, and there's actually a Sweet Harissa Cauliflower recipe in Truly Simple that's my absolute favorite cauliflower recipe on the planet. If you've ever been to True Food Kitchen, their cauliflower was the inspiration behind it. There's this sweet harissa dressing that's on it, and there's little chopped-up dates in it, so it has that nice balance between sweet and savory. It's the absolute best.”

She Loves Salad

Cavallari likes to make salads. She shared one of her favorite recipes with EatingWell. “This salad has a few of my favorite things: salmon (which has omega-3s and is so, so good for you), bacon (no explanation needed), avocado (healthy fats), and spicy tomatillo ranch dressing (just yum). Together, they create culinary heaven. If you aren't familiar with tomatillos, they're similar to tomatoes but are slightly less sweet and are perfect when drenched in ranch.”

She Works With A Trainer

Cavallari tells Us Weekly that a lot of her gym sessions are with her personal trainer. “He kicks my ass,” she says. “He pushes me really hard. He has me actually lifting really heavy weight, the heaviest weight I’ve ever lifted in my entire life. I feel the best I ever have. I feel like I’m the strongest I’ve ever been.”

She Shared Her Eye Makeup Trick

Cavallari shared some of her wellness secrets in an interview with Us Weekly. She says that consistency is one of her biggest priorities. “My goal is sort of, right now, just to maintain the muscle that I have,” she says. “I’m really petite. I have no hips. I’m just small. And so if I don’t work out for like a week or two, I feel like all my muscle goes away. So it is about consistency for me.”
