She Includes a Lot of Protein in Her Diet
The model is a huge advocate for getting plenty of protein. She loves eating scrambled eggs and toast, and has even gotten into breakfast beans. Her go-to protein packed snacks include "salami, chips, hummus, carrots and fruit," she said. "Beans and legumes — meaning all types of dried beans, split peas and lentils — are fair game for increasing your protein intake," says the Cleveland Clinic. "Beans and legumes also keep you fuller, longer because they are so rich in fiber. Animal sources of protein, in contrast, have no fiber at all. Beans and legumes are also much higher in antioxidants."
She Loves Dance, Especially Ballet
She really enjoys working with her trainer to incorporate "ballet-inspired floor exercises" into the models workout routine. Not only does her routine include these moves, but she'll even go for classes occasionally. Ballet is incredible for flexibility and a full body workout.
She's A Runner
Gigi enjoys running because it gives her the flexibility to do it anywhere like when she's traveling for work. When a gym is not available, running is a great option in addition to some useful floor exercises like bicycle crunches. "What we can see if that you don't have to run to have the health benefits. Even with a small amount of exercise, there were improvements with overall cardiovascular health and vessel stiffness. So if your knees won't let you run or your back won't let you run, if you just start to walk on a regular basis at a brisk pace, you can reap the health benefits," says the Mayo Clinic.
She Practices Yoga
Gigi really enjoys yoga. Honestly, it seems like every single celebrity in Hollywood and beyond likes yoga. Practicing yoga is great for relieving stress in general, not to mention it keeps the core muscles tight and your body strong. "Yoga has a great reputation for helping with relaxation, flexibility and stress management, but certain poses work wonders to refresh and invigorate your body and stimulate your brain. Plus, you don't need a lot of time or space to do them," says ACE Fitness.
She Loves Arugula
Normally when people talk about greens, they're talking about spinach or kale, but Gigi loves peppery arugula in her salads. She loves making arugula salads loaded with plenty of salty, protein packed cheese. "Believe it or not, eating more cruciferous veggies like arugula may help lengthen your life. One 2017 meta-analysis linked eating more vegetables with a reduced risk of developing cancer. This is likely because cruciferous veggies such as arugula contain phytonutrients or plant-based compounds that have been shown to decrease inflammation levels in the body. Researchers also found that cruciferous vegetables may reduce your chances of death from any cause," says our sister site Eat This, Not That!.
