Brittany Mahomes is the supportive wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes. However, she’s a lot more than that. She’s a fitness expert with her own website. Recently, Mahomes was announced as one of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’s 2024 Rookie class. In the magazine’s announcement on Instagram, they shared footage from Mahomes’ shoot. How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Brittany Mahomes stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

1. She Hikes

Brittany.Mahomes.2Brittany Mahomes/Instagram

Mahomes shares a lot of her favorite workouts on Instagram. One thing she enjoys doing is going on hikes. She shared these photos of a trip she took to Montana. In some of them, Mahomes and her husband are seen hiking on a mountain. Piedmont Healthcare states that hiking has a lot of benefits. “Going up and down hills gets the heart pumping, creating a great cardio workout. Like most cardio exercises, hiking helps reduce your risk of heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and even some cancers. Hiking is a weight-bearing exercise, which builds muscle mass and helps prevent osteoporosis.”

2. She Trains With Her Husband

Brittany.Mahomes.1Brittany Mahomes/Instagram

Mahomes used to play professional soccer. And she and her pro athlete husband like to train together. She talked about this in an interview with Men’s Health. “I still consider myself an athlete, but current athletes, you know, train differently. But when we train together, you know, we just kind of push each other and like. I obviously never win, if we are training or racing or anything, but I feel like me pushing hard makes him push harder.”

3. She Prioritizes Fitness

Brittany.Mahomes.3Brittany Mahomes/Instagram

For Mahomes, fitness is a huge priority. She talked about this in an interview with EatingWell. “If you know me or follow me on Instagram, you know that staying active and being in the gym has been a huge part of my life. I played soccer in college and professionally, but found that as my career was coming to an end, being in the gym was something that I remained super passionate about. I enjoy strength training and lifting weights mostly, but also walks with the kids and the dogs. Staying active is a huge priority for me as a mom because I believe that it helps me to be the best version of myself for my kids, both physically and mentally. Being able to run around with them and teach them to play sports as they grow is so important to me!”

4. She Keeps Healthy, Allergy Friendly Snacks In The Game Day Fridge

Freshly,Baked,Soft,Pretzel,With,Generous,Sprinkling,Of,Coarse,SaltShutterstock

Mahomes’ two children have severe food allergies. She tells EatingWell what healthy snacks she keeps in the VIP fridge that are safe for her family. “We keep the suite nut-free but stock it with lots of good food and drinks! We keep protein shakes in the fridge with lots of water and energy drinks (and a few adult beverages for the 21-plus crowd). They always have chicken tenders, soft pretzels, sweet treats and fruit and veggie trays. Game days are meant to be enjoyed, so I try to make sure there is lots of fun food and drinks for our friends and family while still keeping the food safe for my kids!”

5. She Horseback Rides

While in Montana, Mahomes did some horseback riding. In one of the photos she posted on Instagram, she is seen riding in a field. The American Heart Association states that riding and spending time with horses has benefits. “Riding a horse for 45 minutes at a walk, trot and canter can burn up to 200 calories,” Dr. Dennis Sigler, a Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service horse specialist and professor in the department of animal science at Texas A&M University in College Station explained. “If you do something a bit more strenuous such as cutting or reining, that can come out to nearly seven calories per minute for the entire length of the riding period.”

The primary type of soluble fiber in oats is beta-glucan, which has been researched to help slow digestion, increase satiety, and suppress appetite. Beta-glucan can bind with cholesterol-rich bile acids in the intestine and transport them through the digestive tract and eventually out of the body. Whole oats also contain plant chemicals called phenolic compounds and phytoestrogens that act as antioxidants to reduce the damaging effects of chronic inflammation that is associated with various diseases like cardiovascular disease and diabetes.”

2023 Kelce JamBarry Brecheisen/Getty Images

Gracie maintains a healthy diet, starting with fat-burning breakfast. “I am breakfast obsessed!” she said in one of her blogs. “The first meal of the day kick starts your metabolism and helps to provide the energy and focus needed to work efficiently throughout the day. One of my favorites is this delicious and vitamin-packed berry smoothie bowl and a vegan matcha latte. She follows it with a “nutritious lunch” that helps “reduce stress and provides the fuel your body needs to take on the afternoon work grind,” she added. “I like to keep my energy up with a sweet potato & quinoa salad with turmeric-coated cauliflower on the side,” she writes. As for snacks she slices up some tomatoes and pairs them with light mozzarella, and “just a splash” of balsamic vinegar and olive oil. “Don’t underestimate the power of snacks,” she says. At the end of the day she enjoys a replenishing meal. “Dinner is an important part of the day, it makes up for the nutrients that may have been missed during the day. That’s why I eat something that is packed with protein, like a salad with shrimp and lentils,” she writes. And no, she doesn’t skip dessert. “ Since I do have a sweet tooth, I love a dessert that is delicious and satisfies my craving but is also somewhat healthy. I love making this simple one-ingredient banana ice cream. Plus, no ice cream maker needed for this rich and silky delight!”

2. She Does Yoga

Gracie is seriously into yoga. “Yoga is a great way to put your body through active recovery and stretching which helps with injury prevention while also being active and getting a good workout in. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness. Mindful eating can lead to a more positive relationship with food and eating.”

HIIT workouts are one of Gracie’s “favorite” workouts. “They burn more calories, target multiple muscle groups at a time, and can also lower blood sugar and blood pressure. Just remember: HIIT & don’t quit!”

In addition to her impressive acting ability, the star is a total bombshell and has one of the fittest figures in Hollywood. Here are the top 5 habits that help her stay fit at 27.

Water Skiing

Sydney Sweeney arrives to "The Road to the Golden Globes Party"

Sydney has been water skiing since she was a toddler. “The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what’s called a U-board to learn how to ski,” she told Women’s Health. “I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma’s or my cousin’s house, I’d wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Morning Workouts

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Self-Care

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

She Walks and Hikes

One of the ways she treats her anxiety is by spending time outdoors with her dog, Tank. She takes him on walks or hikes. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.
