"I have no magic thing that I do to stay fit," she added to Shape in 2019. "I eat really clean, do my shows, and work out. I always feel better when I'm in a routine even though I sometimes hate it. I play tennis, badly, with Blake. Then we go to the gym. I like to do squats and lunges and light weights. I don't go crazy like I used to. I do just enough to make my body feel good."

"Balance is the hardest thing, but it's also the most important," Gwen told Shape, adding that family time is her priority. "It seems like, with your career, you have to keep swimming, keep moving, or else you're going to look back and go, 'Shoot, it's over.' I don't like feeling like that. I want to do creative things when I want, and I want to stop chasing all the time. It's hard, but I'm really enjoying being in the moment."

Gwen regularly works out, but isn't against taking time out of her commitment to fitness when she needs it. "I kind of stopped working out," Gwen told Marie Claire in 2012. "I think my body just needed a break. And so I did that, and focused more on feeling good as opposed to beating myself up."

After Gwen and Gavin Rossdale split up in 2015, Gwen stepped up her spirituality. "I've been working on my spiritual exercising and like really trying to connect, and be grateful and considerate, and living in the present," she told US Weekly.
