Bailey opened up about her acting career to Variety. She says that she has taken things from each role she has played. “I find myself learning things from these characters and trying to adopt them and keep them with me as I go about my life,” Bailey says. “It’s like the universe is trying to give these themes to me, like ‘Here, do it! We’re putting it in through the characters.’”

Bailey wants to inspire a lot of people, especially young girls. She says to Variety that she hopes her role in The Little Mermaid will do that. “I want the little girl in me and the little girls just like me who are watching to know that they’re special, and that they should be a princess in every single way,” Bailey says. “There’s no reason that they shouldn’t be. That reassurance was something that I needed.”

3. She’s Consistent With Skincare

Bailey and her sister are all about skincare. They opened up about their process and favorite products to People. Bailey says that she has learned to be consistent when it comes to skincare. "I think around four or five years ago I was like, 'OK, I have to be consistent with my skin always in order for it to behave and be nice to me.” Bailey says that she loves Neutrogena products for this reason.

4. She Uses Sunscreen

Bailey opened up about her favorite skincare products and approaches to Harper’s Bazaar. She says that sunscreen is one of her go-to products. “I have learned that we do need protection from the sun. For years, I was in denial about it.” Bailey says that she likes to use an invisible sunscreen, so no one can see any streaks of it on her. “What I love about that one is that it disappears right into my skin, I don’t have to worry about a white cast, and I can put makeup over it.”

5. She Keeps Her Skincare Simple

Bailey tells Harper’s Bazaar that she has learned to keep her skincare simple. “When I was younger and we were on tour, I would do way too much on my skin especially when I would have breakouts,” she says. “I would get anxious like, ‘I need to get this off my face now! Let me do a mask here, let me do a scrub here.’... My skin is being nicer to me, and I keep it simple and I’m good.”

She says that she didn’t want the actress to burn out from exercise. "It was really important for me not to overload Halle too much, if she had a full day on the rigs/wires and in a harness, as she would get a lot of work through being on the equipment naturally.”

2. She Worked Out Regularly

When filming The Little Mermaid, Bailey had to learn to do some of her own stunts. She also worked out on a regular basis. She says that she learned that she has combination skin, and has to take care of it. “When I was younger, I always thought it would just remain clear because my family has really good skin; Chloë has super clear skin, as does most of my family, but my little brother and I deal with acne from time to time. So when it came to my skin care regimen, I realized that I really need to just treat my skin nice and do a really good job. And less is more when it comes to my skin — I just need a few products to target the issues. That's when I notice my skin thriving.”

2. She Loves Hot Yoga

Hot yoga is another one of Halley’s favorite workouts. "Hot yoga kicked my" behind, she captioned a photo of herself in July post-sweat session. "Hot yoga is not for everyone. The intensity of the workout and the hot temperatures have the potential to cause heat-related illness. This is important because as people age, the body's vessels become stiffer. This can be detrimental to your health since with stiff vessels your body has to work harder to pump blood."

"I can't sit here and lie and say, 'Oh, I'm bulletproof, nothing hurt me,' because it honestly did," Bailey said. "And I think what hurt me the most was when I would see some post saying how I'm doing this for male attention, or I'm just trying to sell sex to get attention for myself. At first I was really getting sad about it, but then I told myself, 'Why would I let that control my thoughts and feelings when I know it's a lie?' I kind of had to not give it so much power. I'm not doing anything crazy, I'm just appreciating and loving my body, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that."

Shirvani shared the actress’ workout routine with Women’s Health. “Core strength is very different to a visible set of abs. It was important for the cast to look the part, but also be able to film for hours on a rig. As the Mermaids have no legs, they are heavily relying on their core and back strength to hold them up. This required a huge amount of abdominal strength as well as a huge amount of strength through their back extensors.”

5. She Goes Outside

Bailey makes time for herself, no matter how busy she gets. She shared her favorite self-care pastimes with Harper’s Bazaar. “Being outside, being in the sun—those are always my safe places and when I feel the most grounded.” The National Foundation For Cancer Research states that going outside has a lot of benefits. “Walking among the trees can lower blood pressure and reduce the stress-related hormones cortisol and adrenaline.
