1. She Works Her Core

She’s over the crunches. "My average workout these days doesn't involve a single situp or crunch," Halle said to Women's Health. Although there is one ab move that she refuses to let go of because it’s so effective. "One abs move I do incorporate into my workouts pretty often is planks,” admits Halle. “I never did planks back in the day, but they've made a huge difference for my core strength and definition.”

2. She Changes Up Her Workouts

Change is so clutch to continue challenging your muscles in different ways. Halle tries everything from MMA style cardio workouts, plyometric training, running, resistance training, and high intensity workouts with her trainer, Peter Lee Thomas.

3. She Tries Intermittent Fasting and Keto

It’s hard to know where to start with all of these fad diets, but intermittent fasting seems to be a big one with the stars. Berry generally will stick to fasting and blends that with a keto diet, focusing on high fats and protein to help control her type two diabetes. Thomas, Berry's trainer said "a lot of the time she will have a steak with a big green salad and not butter lettuce, it has to be dark greens like spinach and kale," he said. "Or she will have shredded chicken over a dark green leafy salad. Or she might have two or three eggs, not egg whites, she eats the whole egg because the yolk is very important."

4. Greens, Coffee, and Supplements Help Her in Her Journey

47th Annual People's Choice Awards - ArrivalsAmy Sussman/Getty Images

Posting often on her Instagram about it, she talks about what she does for meals including breakfast. Berry says, "a green drink or I do my bullet coffee,” referring to her morning routine. Bullet coffee involves adding oil or unsalted butter to coffee. It’s not too clear yet if this is good for you, but it works for Halle. She also relies on her amino acids to aid in building your muscles.

5. She Puts Self Care First

93rd Annual Academy Awards - ArrivalsMatt Petit/Getty Images

The emphasis that she puts on self-care is so important and should be seen more in this industry. Berry prioritizes meditation, practicing calming breaths and being mindful. In a Marie Claire article, Berry reveals that she learned the practice after working with a yogi master in India. "The experience not only profoundly changed me, but it inspired me to never go a day without some sort of meditation," she said.

1. She Does Circuit Training

In a January 2021 Instagram Story, Halle gave fans a glimpse of her intense circuit training workout. Weighted squats, box jumps, weighted side planks, and rotating hollow holds were all part of her routine.

2. She Loves Hot Yoga

Hot yoga is another one of Halley’s favorite workouts. "Hot yoga kicked my" behind, she captioned a photo of herself in July post-sweat session. "Hot yoga is not for everyone. The intensity of the workout and the hot temperatures have the potential to cause heat-related illness. Be sure you check with your doctor before trying hot yoga, especially if you have any health concerns or if you are pregnant," says the Mayo Clinic.

3. She Is Vegan

Both Halle and her sister Chloe are vegan. During BuzzFeed's Sister Test, the girls revealed a few of their favorite meat-free dishes, including avocado toast, rice, and bread and sweets such as vegan cheesecake, donuts, and pancakes. They also revealed the recipe for their favorite smoothie, which includes raspberries, almond milk, blueberries, apple, agave nectar, and ice.

During a Teen Vogue interview in 2017, Halle and Chloe revealed that walking is part of their stay-fit routine. “Every morning we walk our little brother to school. That helps us start our day off nice and refreshed,” they said. When traveling for work, they also walk instead of hop in cars.

They also revealed to Teen Vogue that they “love to go running, around three times a week.” "A study out of the United Kingdom showed first-time marathon runners significantly improved their cardiovascular health during training for a 26.2-mile race," says the Mayo Clinic. "Specifically, this study showed participants had improvements in overall cardiovascular health but particularly related to the stiffness of the aortic vessel. This is important because as people age, the body's vessels become stiffer. This can be detrimental to your health since with stiff vessels your body has to work harder to pump blood."

6. She Doesn’t Want to Be “Too Small”

Halle is more concerned with building muscle than losing weight. “I’ve always felt i was too small but honestly proud of my progress..😇getting somewhere 💪🏽💜” she captioned a recent Instagram photo of herself in the gym.

She opened up about working with him on Instagram. “With his help, I have learned so much about fitness and nutrition," she said in her caption. "I'm excited to share it with all of you. He's taught me boxing, self defense, and much more. Not only am I in the best shape of my life, but I can actually defend myself and most importantly . . . my children! As a woman there is nothing more empowering."

2. She Makes Wellness A Priority

Berry opened up about her wellness in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar. She says that she makes her health a priority. "Being diagnosed with diabetes—that was an aha moment that just changed my whole life. That's when I got really committed to making fitness and exercise and diet a real part of my life."

3. She Takes Care Of Her Gut

Berry said in her Harper’s Bazaar interview that taking care of her gut is extremely important. “Everything stems from your gut. As I've said, all of your other organs become healthier when your gut is healthy and your microbiome is balanced. And when your gut's healthy, you also metabolize food better, especially sugar. We all need to metabolize sugar better to get it in and out of our bodies as quickly as we can, because we all know some of the unhealthy effects of sugar.”

4. She Does A Variety Of Workouts

Halle.BerryHalle Berry/Instagram

When it comes to fitness, Berry believes in doing a variety of things. She shared her workout routine with InStyle. “Over the past few years, I went from training for John Wick 3 to my upcoming film and directorial debut BRUISED. Some days I'd work on strength and cardio and others I'd do yoga and stretching, all while I did a few hours of martial arts training each day. For me, it's been important not to overstress my body. Taking cold hot showers has been a good recovery ritual.”

5. She Takes Care Of Her Mental Health

Berry makes sure to take care of her mental health, and shared her favorite ways to do so with InStyle. “I've also found that taking care of my mental health has been crucial during these odd times. Also reading self-help books on ways to stay grounded and centered during this time has been widely helpful and inspirational.”

1. She Manages Her Diabetes

While this might not be known to many people, Berry has diabetes, and was diagnosed when she was 19 years old. Berry tells the L.A. Times that having diabetes has made her conscious of food and what she puts in her body, and has made her make a lot of changes. “It took a couple of years, and some scary situations, to accept that it was a lifestyle change and not a diet I could stop in six months.” Berry tells the DailyMail some of her favorite healthy meals. "I started to eat loads of wonderful fresh vegetables, chicken, fresh fish and pasta. I cut out red meat and cut back on fruit because it can contain quite a lot of sugar," Berry said.

2. She’s Has Done Keto

The Annual espnW: Women + Sports SummitLeon Bennett/Getty Images

Berry is on the popular keto diet. She says on an Instagram post, “Being diabetic most of my life, I have always had to take food very seriously. So for years, I have been following the keto or ketogenic diet. I hate the word ‘diet’ so while you’ll see the word diet, just know I encourage you to think of it as a lifestyle change NOT A DIET! Keto is a very low-carb food plan which actually forces your body to burn fat like crazy.”

3. She’s A Fan of Protein Shakes

The Annual espnW: Women + Sports Summitby Leon Bennett/Getty Images

Berry says to the L.A. Times that she tries to avoid napping during the day. “I am not a napper,” she says. However, Berry says that she has a trick to keep her energy up. “Adding vegetable protein to a shake sustains my energy throughout the day.”

4. She Eats Small Meals

The Annual espnW: Women + Sports SummitLeon Bennett/Getty Images

Berry says that she tends to eat smaller meals to help manage her diabetes. "My diet is geared towards managing my diabetes, so I try to eat four small meals a day. I like to feel strong and healthy," Berry says to Women & Home South Africa.

5. She Starts Her Day With Water & Amino Acids

The Annual espnW: Women + Sports SummitLeon Bennett/Getty Images

Berry’s personal trainer, Peter Lee Thomas, reveals to HollywoodLife that the actress does not eat breakfast, and prefers to drink water and amino acids in the morning. He says, “She starts her day with a big glass of water, about 8-12 oz., usually with a little lemon squeezed into it for flavor. And then directly after that, she will take her amino acids. She takes something called Master Amino Pattern by a company called Purium.” Thomas continues, “Essentially it is the actual amino acids that build muscle, not the actual food source, because the food first needs to be converted into amino acids to create the muscle. If you imagine your body as a freeway system, these amino acids go straight onto the freeway. It’s the quickest way possible for your body to get these nutrients because nothing has to be digested.”

6. She Works Out 30 Minutes A Day

The Annual espnW: Women + Sports SummitLeon Bennett/Getty Images

With Berry’s busy schedule, it can be difficult to exercise regularly. However, she tells the L.A. Times that she tries to get in a workout every day. “No matter what, every day I exercise for at least 30 minutes,” she says.

7. She’s A Fan Of Cardio

The Annual espnW: Women + Sports SummitLeon Bennett/Getty Images

Berry tells the L.A. Times that she’s a fan of cardio, and isn’t a fan of strength training. "I have never worked out with a lot of weights unless I had to for a film role. Left to my own devices, I just do cardio. I do exercises that involve my own body weight, because I never want to get too muscly," she says.

Actress Halle Berry has been considered one of the most stunning women in Hollywood since the beginning of her career. And she’d probably remain that way even after the moon came crashing to Earth. That’s the premise of her new movie—Moonfall—and this week, she hit the premiere in a little black dress, showing off legs for days. How does she stay so fit? 1. She Doesn’t Let Her Age Define Her

Los Angeles Premiere Of "Moonfall" - ArrivalsAmy Sussman/Getty Images

While Berry might look ageless, she says to WhoWhatWear.com that her age does not matter or define her. She also encourages other women to adapt this approach, especially because men don’t let their ages define them. "Age is just a number, and I have never felt defined by it," Berry says. "It is a bit frustrating that people want to place so much emphasis on the age of women. Somehow, it feels a bit degrading, like it puts us at a disadvantage. Men get older, and they get sexier, but women just get old. I think that the older we get, the better we become. We just have to convince ourselves of that fact because I absolutely believe it to be true!"

2. This is Why She is Committed to Wellness

"Moonfall" Premiere In Partnership With LexusJon Kopaloff/Getty Images for Lionsgate

"Being diagnosed with diabetes when I was 19—that was an aha moment that just changed my whole life," said Berry to BAZAAR.com. "When I realized that I had a disease that I could actually manage by my diet and exercise, and live longer and stay healthier? That's when I got really committed to making fitness and exercise and diet a real part of my life."

3. She Loves Martial Arts

"Moonfall" Premiere In Partnership With LexusJon Kopaloff/Getty Images for Lionsgate

For her Netflix movie Bruised, which she also directed, Berry told POPSUGAR that she did six different styles of martial arts, as well; as her usual yoga and Pilates “. . all of these disciplines I had to learn elements of in order to present myself, and to have one believe that I really was this world class fighter that had been doing it probably for most of my life. So I pushed myself harder than I think I've ever pushed myself. I know I trained more hours, probably six days a week, about four, five hours a day, for at least a good year in my life."

4. She Believes in the Power of Fitness at Home

Los Angeles Premiere Of "Moonfall" - Red CarpetKevin Winter/Getty Images

Berry founded the wellness site Rē•spin. "During this pandemic over at Rē•spin and also with my trainer, Peter Lee Thomas, with our Fitness Fridays [on Instagram], we've been really trying to inspire people to work out at home," Berry told BAZAAR.com. "We've been telling them that you don't have to have a big membership to stay healthy, and stay well, and stay fit and strong."

5. She is Trying to Dioversify the Wellness Space

Los Angeles Premiere Of "Moonfall" - ArrivalsFrazer Harrison/WireImage

"I don't know if we've always been provided ways that we can stay fit and be well within a means that's affordable. I think for so long people thought, 'You have to have a trainer. You have to have a gym membership. You have to have all this equipment. You have to eat certain meals. That costs a certain amount,'" said Berry to Harper’s. "I think we've talked ourselves out of being fit, sometimes, because we think it's something that's unobtainable or not affordable. I do like FitOn for that reason, because we are learning that it is affordable, it is manageable, and anybody can do it. You just have to have the will and the desire. And you have to make up your mind that it's important. That's the hard work that people have to do."

Leonie Hanne is living her best life in Thailand – in her swimsuit. In a new social media post, the German model flaunts her fantastic figure in a $750 Missoni bathing suit while enjoying a boating day in the tropics. “She dreamed of a tropical adventure 🦋,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. “Stunning,” commented one of her followers. ”So beautiful,” added another. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Coffee

Leonie enjoys the perks of caffeine. In one of her posts from Thailand, she drinks a cup of coffee at the poolside. According to the Cleveland Clinic, drinking coffee in moderation has several benefits. “It acts on your brain to improve memory, mood, reaction times, and mental function,” they say, citing a study finding that caffeine can improve endurance and performance during exercise. It is also antioxidant-rich, can ward off diabetes, prevent neurologic disease, lower cancer risk, and ward off depression, they point out.

Pilates

Leonie does Pilates at the super exclusive London studio Pilates in the Clouds. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress, and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

At-Home Workouts

Leonie tries to get a workout in daily, preferably in the morning. I still try to get up early to maintain a sense of routine. I start every day with a quick at-home workout and a homemade acai bowl, before starting work on emails and content creation. I’ve been getting really into TikTok lately, it’s funny and keeps me feeling energised!” she told Arcadia.

Community

It takes a village, according to Leonie. “Community is key! The people you surround yourself with are more important than ever, as we are all trying to find ways to stay connected without being physically present. Speaking to people either on the phone or through social media can shift your mindset and motivation more than ever before,” she says.

Small, Healthy Habits

Leonie focuses on maintaining small, healthy habits. “Do something every day that brings you joy. Even if that means having something small to look forward to, like having your favourite snacks around the house or changing into an outfit that makes you feel good about yourself,” she says.

Sophie Piper is embracing island life – in her swimsuit. In a new social media post, the Love Island beauty shows off her fantastic figure in a swimsuit during a tropical vacation at Kandima Maldives with Josh Ritchie. “Island life,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps taken at the picturesque resort. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

She Doesn't Go Under the Knife

Sophie claims she hasn’t gone under the knife. “It’s your own body, you can do what you want to,” she told Grazia, weighing in on the show’s reputation for girls getting work done. “I wouldn’t have surgery myself; I don’t want it. I’ve got such a low pain tolerance as well; I’d be squirming around.”

She Gets Her Steps In

Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Sophie loves paddle boarding. The American Council on Exercise (ACE) agrees that paddle boarding is great for the core and cardio. Water sports can burn an average of 385 calories for a 140-pound male and 436 calories for a female of the same size, per a study conducted by Arizona State University.

She Skis

When Sophie hits the mountains, she throws on a pair of skis. “Ski club,” she captioned a photo. Research has linked downhill skiing to several health benefits. In addition to promoting physical fitness, it may decrease the risk of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Studies have also found that the more frequently a person skis, the prevalence of known hypercholesterolemia, systemic hypertension, diabetes, the frequency of mental stress, and the occurrence of memory deficits decline.

She Loves Group Fitness

“You’ve got to be body confident,” Sophie told Grazia. One of her favorite sweat methods? Group fitness. “A few gym classes can’t hurt,” she said.

She Goes Snorkeling

On her recent Maldives vacation, Sophie and Josh snorkeled in the crystal clear water. Surprisingly, putting on a snorkel and fins and swimming through the water is a great workout. In addition to being a great aerobic exercise and burning calories, other health benefits may include improved cardiovascular function, stress reduction, mood enhancement, and muscular toning.

Tammy Hembrow is a fitness influencer and expert. She has her own app, called Tammy Fit. Hembrow has a lot of challenges on her app. Recently, she advertised a challenge with a workout video on Instagram. Hembrow captioned the post, “We are 3 days into our first @tammyfitapp challenge of the year & I am more motivated than everrrrr. (Sign ups are still open if you haven’t joined yet - there’s still time to catch up!! - link in bio). Soooo happy seeing so many of my girlies (and guys) in this challenge doing it with me!! And I CANNOT wait to see everyone’s results at the end of the 8 weeks. We got thissss 💪🏼”

She Does Pulldowns

Hembrow is seen doing pulldowns in her Instagram video. Piedmont reports that pulldowns have a lot of benefits. “The lat pulldown is a fantastic exercise for strengthening the latissimus dorsi muscle, the broadest muscle in your back. This muscle promotes good posture and spinal stability. Form is crucial when performing a lat pulldown to prevent injury and reap the best results.”

She Lifts Weights

Tammy Hebrew is seen using dumbbells.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen doing a lot of exercises with weights in her Instagram video. ACE Fitness states that using weights to workout has a lot of benefits. “Strength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle’s appearance.”

She Tracks Her Meals

Hembrow likes to track her meals on her app. She talked about the benefits of this in the caption of this “What I Eat In A Day” Instagram video. “Make sure to take advantage of the calorie/macro tracking features in the @tammyfitapp during this challenge guys. It can be really helpful in reaching specific goals quicker.
