Start By Making Up Your Mind

According to Berry, getting into shape starts with a decision. "You just have to have the will and the desire," she explained to Harper's Bazaar. "And you have to make up your mind that it's important. That's the hard work that people have to do."

2

Adapt Your Program to Your Age

Berry might look just as amazing as she did in her twenties, but it's not because her approach to fitness has remained the same. "I've always been fit, and have always thought about fitness and taking care of my body. It's only changed in terms of how I've been adding to my fitness regimen," she told Harper's Bazaar. "It used to just be working out with weights, and then I got into Pilates, and then I got into yoga, and now I'm into martial arts."

3

Try Keto with Intermittent Fasting

Berry started the keto diet to help manage her diabetes. "Nothing white. No sugar, no carbs," she explained during an appearance on Live With Kelly and Ryan about her dietary restrictions. Instead she loads up on healthy fats like "avocado, coconut oil, butter," and avoids sugar. "That's the secret!" In an August 2018 Instagram story she discussed intermittent fasting, revealing that she eats two meals a day, normally skipping breakfast and doing a "sort of fast." Her trainer, Peter Lee Thomas, also told Hollywood Life that she eats her first meal post-workout, which is "basically her breakfast and lunch combined."

Drink Bone Broth, Green Juice, and Bulletproof Coffee

Halle avoids sugary beverages and instead sips on water and a few other healthy drinks. Thomas revealed that Berry is a big fan of bone broth, which she sips throughout the day or right before bed. Green drinks, and "bullet coffee"—aka Bulletproof coffee, a concoction of black coffee, MCT oil, and grass-fed, unsalted butter— are also her favorites, she revealed in an Instagram Story.

5

Try Boxing

Boxing and martial arts are two of Halle's favorite workouts. (She directed the awesome MMA drama Bruised, on Netflix.) "Boxing is still considered one of the best full-body workouts," she wrote in an Instagram post. "You'll sculpt every muscle and burn major calories and fat. It dramatically decreases stress levels, develops hand-eye coordination, and builds confidence and discipline. But most importantly… you'll never stop learning. I've been boxing for the past 10 years and regularly for the past three and I love that I always learn a new way to challenge myself and work new muscles."

6

Prioritize Self-Care

Berry is all about taking care of herself. Her Instagram feed is filled with self-care photos. "I love Self-Care Sundays, and finding time to read or meditate, do yoga, things that you can easily do at home," she told Harper's Bazaar. "Finding time to destress has been very important for me, because a few times I've had to stay calm and be positive for my children when they're falling apart."
