1. They Accept Themself

Halsey is all about self-acceptance. They advised their fans to do the same in an interview with Byrdie. “You have to accept your face. That’s one thing I’ve learned from being in front of the camera, being on red carpets, and being in pictures all the time. Sometimes you see pictures of yourself, and it’s not the way you see yourself in your brain, but you have to realize that’s just what you look like, and you need to learn to love it. If your nose is shaped a certain way, don’t wish your nose was shaped a different way.”

Halsey revealed to Byrdie that they like to use a lot of natural products on their skin. “The older I’m getting, the more sensitive my skin is starting to get,” they explained. Halsey says that their favorite products include, “A lot of coconut oil, tea tree oil. I love activated charcoal, coffee as an exfoliator—apple cider vinegar is an awesome toner as well.”

Another natural product Halsey likes to use on their face are tea bags. They explained their use for them to Byrdie. “My new lifesaver is such a no-brainer, but I didn’t think of it sooner for some reason: It’s green tea bags for getting rid of redness because I am starting to get stress-activated redness on my face.”

Halsey revealed some of their biggest beauty secrets in a video with Allure. One thing that is extremely important to their routine is using sunscreen on a regular basis. “The first thing I do is use a sunscreen,” they said. “It’s SPF 50, so I can go about and enjoy lots of sun, get lots of vitamin D, and fresh air without having to worry about my skin in the long run.”

5. They Do Sit-Ups

To prepare for the 2018 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, Halsey did some ab workouts. “I definitely did a lot of sit-ups,” Halsey said to Sirius XM. Reinhart says she was inspired by Gal Gadot to get fit and build muscle. “I wanted to feel really strong, physically strong,” she says. “I was inspired by Gal Gadot. I was like, I want to be like you. I want to be strong so, you know, I didn’t feel like, ‘Oh I needed to be skinny or thin’. It totally wasn’t like that.” Reinhart started working out with a personal trainer, “which has been kind of life changing,” she says. “I just know what I’m doing now when I’m at the gym, because I used to totally not.”

Reinhart is trying to maintain new, healthy habits. "I'm trying to take care of myself more than I was before," she says. "I'm a fast food addict and junk food addict. So trying to change my diet actually. And I'm actually working with a new holistic doctor to kind of find out the cause of my chronic fatigue. It's a struggle. I like to set aside the time at night, if I can, to meditate. It helps me fall asleep. But I also work with a channeler. I meet with her weekly, and she's helped me in a very spiritual, beautiful way."

3. Walking Her Dog

Reinhart credits her dog with forcing her to be active every day. “My dog, luckily, encourages me to get out of the house and go for a walk,” she says. “I think I probably would be a lot more physically unhealthy if I didn’t have Milo encouraging me to go for walks. So just finding things that are fulfilling, whether it’s reading or painting or writing, just making sure I’m not sitting around watching TV for 12 hours, basically, because it’s hard to sleep when you do that, because you’re not actually doing anything.”

Reinhart is determined to focus on self-love and health over appearance. “It’s hard because I've totally been on the receiving end of the mirror and thinking that's not what I want to look like,” she says. “But if you're doing things that make you happy and you think you are treating your body well by nourishing it with good food and exercise then you should just accept yourself.”

5. Lots of Sleep

Reinhart gets at least eight hours of sleep every night and plenty of naps. The actress focused on supporting her mental health during the pandemic lockdowns, and sees it as self-love. “I take as many naps as I can,” she says. “I’ve been kinda selfish—necessarily selfish—throughout this pandemic. Maybe that sounds worse than it is, but what I mean by that is just putting myself as a priority when it comes to my mental health and taking care of myself, whatever that means, whatever that looks like.”

Emily appreciates a zen form of fitness. “I don’t have a trainer, and I don’t really go to the gym,” she told The New York Times. “I’m just not a crazy fitness person. I’m definitely an outlier in the industry,” she added. “And doing yoga a couple of times a week is a really big part of my regimen.” There is a laundry list of reasons to do yoga, explains Harvard Health. “Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years, gained less weight during middle adulthood,” they said. “People who were overweight actually lost weight. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness.

Emily makes sure to get a good night’s sleep "For me, the way I sleep afterwards is one of the main reasons to work out. I am always on my phone working and I think that's affected my sleep. I'm also really light-sensitive. When I work out, it's better than taking a melatonin. Because my body has worked hard, my brain finally rests and I think that is so valuable in this day and age — not to sound like an old geezer, but truly I feel that way," she told InStyle.
