Helena Christensen is a Danish supermodel. She’s known for her time as a Victoria’s Secret Angel, and for her role in Chris Isaak’s video for “Wicked Game.” Christensen is in her 50’s, yet still looks incredible, and has the same body from her modeling days. Read on to see 6 ways Helena Christensen stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bikini Photos!

1. She Tries A Lot of Different Workouts

Christensen revealed to Allure that she’s tried a lot of different workouts throughout her life. Some are pretty unexpected and unique. She says, "I used to wake up in the morning and sprint, which is a great way to spark your metabolism and get your brain tuned up. And in my mid-30s, I started boxing. My newest exercise is pole dancing, and it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done. The upper-body strength you need to carry out any of the moves is mind-blowing."

2. She Eats What She Wants

Despite being a supermodel, Christensen says she’s never been on a stereotypical “model diet.” In fact, she tells Allure that she eats what she wants. "I’m not the kind of person who will limit myself to any kind of food. I could not live without bread and pasta. I eat real butter and drink whole milk. And I’m obsessed with Japanese food and Moroccan stews. So when I think about working out, yes, it’s good for the mind — but it’s also because I eat a hell of a lot of food."

3. She Takes Vitamins

Variety,Of,Vitamin,Pills,In,Wooden,Spoon,On,White,BackgroundShutterstock

One of Christensen’s health secrets is taking vitamins daily. In fact, she’s had this ritual for a long time. "I was always the one carrying around the plastic pillbox with the days of the week on it, spilling vitamins in my bag,” she says to Allure. “When I was approached by Lumity, I tried [the supplements] for a few months and saw that I could eliminate a lot of the other pills I was taking. They all contain vitamin D, zinc, flaxseed oil. I’m taking care of my insides and my outsides, and that’s the best I can do."

4. She Meditates, In Her Own Way

Christensen tells Allure that she’s a big fan of meditation. However, she says that she doesn’t meditate in the traditional way. She says, "I can’t just sit still and think of a mantra or repeat a thought or a word. But there are other ways of finding your stillness. Sometimes I do it by organizing or cleaning. I recently took up piano again, and that is a very good way of being in a calm zone by myself and using my mind differently. That’s my form of meditation. The key is to find what works for you."

5. She Gets Her Beauty Sleep In

Celebrity Sightings In New York City - April 08, 2021James Devaney/GC Images

When revealing her wellness secrets to Harper’s Bazaar, Christensen said one of her most important tricks is getting enough sleep. "I feel absolutely the best when I have had good sleep. That’s my number one priority. I actually think it is the number one priority for most people. It just changes your entire day - when you haven't had enough sleep and also when you have."

6. She Never Holds Herself Back

While sexism and double standard are rampant through society, Christensen says that she tries to not feel held back by her gender. She encourages others to do the same, saying to Harper’s Bazaar, "I've never looked at myself and thought, you can't do this because you're a woman. Over and over, it’s been proven that women can do the same physical activities as men. Don't hold yourself back, especially if you feel like you can't because of your gender. That shouldn't be the reason stopping you from doing anything."

The horror genre is renowned for its spine-chilling narratives and tense atmospheres, but it's also a showcase for the talents and physiques of its stars. From mastering demanding roles, to sharing skincare routines, diet secrets, and workout regimens, these actors remain icons both on and off screen. Dive deep into the lives of these horror mavens like Amandla Stenberg, who's breaking boundaries with authentic LGBTQ+ representations, to Bella Thorne, who advocates for body positivity and personal confidence. Whether it’s challenging conventional beauty norms or embracing an all-natural skincare routine, these stars prove they are just as intriguing off screen. Dive in and get inspired by their stories and lifestyles.

1. Amandla Stenberg

Los,Angeles-,Oct,21:,Amandla,Stenberg,Arrives,For,5th,AnnualShutterstock

Amandla Stenberg talked about playing a queer character in Bodies, Bodies, Bodies to them. “It’s such a relief to be able to express that part of my identity authentically through a character and not have to conform to a different expression that is not authentic to me. What was so fun as an actor, and also as a producer, was being able to explore all the nuances of queer relationships through these characters — and being able to use my own experience and my understanding. The minutiae that I feel like we have experienced as queer people could be hilarious or meaningful. It was such a joy.”

2. Maika Monroe

Los,Angeles,-,Jan,21:,Maika,Monroe,At,The,24thShutterstock

Maika Monroe has starred in several horror movies, notably, It Follows and The Guest. She talked about how she handles those roles in an interview with IndieWire. “I’ve learned that for me, for my mental health, I have to be able to let go of it at the end of the day. A lot of the movies that I do are very dark and very intense, and it doesn’t do me any good to live in that space for longer than I needed to. For these movies, I want the characters to be grounded as possible, so to do that, [I have] to pull from my own traumas and my own experiences and that obviously is very overwhelming. But, for me, it is very important to be able to let go.”

3. Elizabeth Lail

Los,Angeles,-,Sep,10:,Elizabeth,Lail,At,The,2018Shutterstock

Elizabeth Lail has starred in Countdown and You. She shared some of her skincare secrets with Byrdie. “I’m trying to introduce more clean beauty into my routine. But more than anything I want something that works. So I also really love Murad. Their eye cream is amazing. As far as makeup, I feel like a clown when I have too much on so I like to keep it simple. I just spot correct with Clé de Peau concealer. And then I use a lot of Beautycounter because it’s a clean beauty brand. I have their mascara, brow gel, and sunscreen stick, which is great on the go. I’m just constantly on Instagram buying the next thing I see… for better or for worse.”

4. Florence Pugh

Los,Angeles,-,Jan,12:,Florence,Pugh,Arrives,For,TheShutterstock

Florence Pugh is known for roles in horror films like Midsommar and Don’t Worry Darling. She tells ELLE that she doesn’t believe in losing weight for roles. "I'm never losing weight to look fantastic for a role," she said. "It's more like: How would this character have lived? What would she be eating?"

5. Jessica Rothe

Jessica,Roth,Attends,The,World,Premiere,Of,"poms",At,RegalShutterstock

Jessica Rothe is known for her role in the Happy Death Day series. She tells The Hollywood Reporter that she loves to cook. “One of my favorite recipes that I made a million times during quarantine is Instant Pot zucchini bolognese. It’s a spin on the one that Meghan Markle made famous, but it has Italian sausage in it. I think it’s Italian sausage, zucchini, onion and garlic. It’s so easy and it’s so delicious. But I get it. It’s a weird, very moist, squishy vegetable. I think you just have to make sure you prepare it right.”

6. Tessa Thompson

Santa,Monica,,Ca,-,June,16,,2018:,Tessa,Thompson,AtShutterstock

Tessa Thompson has starred in films like Annihilation. She also starred in the Thor film series, and did her own stunts for them. She talked about this in an interview with Comic Book Resources. "It felt great! Yeah, it felt great. Particularly for the five months that I was there, and I was working on the stage where did all the stunt choreography and the likes of folks like Chris Hemsworth. It felt good to be able to be on par with everyone around me."

7. Bailee Madison

New,York,,Ny,-,February,5,,2020:,Bailee,Madison,WearingShutterstock

Don’t Be Afraid of The Dark star Bailee Madison opened up about her skincare to Byrdie. “I am a big believer in no makeup as much as I can. Set makeup is the worst because you're caked in as much powder as possible. My hair is the longest it's ever been because it's usually so damaged, but it hasn't had that much heat on it these days, and I do hair masks. And for my skin, I try to give it skin breathers. I'm old school like that from my mom. It's not that fancy, y'all! But I do love a good jade roller, though."

8. Emma Roberts

Los,Angeles,-,Nov,12:,Emma,Roberts,Arrives,For,Baby2babyShutterstock

Emma Roberts is one of the stars of the horror series, American Horror Story. She talked about her workout routine to InStyle. “I started working out regularly when I was living in New Orleans shooting American Horror Story: Coven several years ago,” she said. “I really fell in love with the food there. To counter all I was eating, I worked out more. It was a great balance: I'd have fried-chicken sliders at night and then go to my yoga class the next morning."

9. Jane Levy

Los,Angeles,-,Feb,06:,Jane,Levy,Jane,Levy,ArrivesShutterstock

Jane Levy’s horror credits include Evil Dead and Don’t Breathe. She shared her skincare secrets in an interview with Glamour. “At night I wash my face with oil first to get rid of the makeup. There is an oil I use as face wash from Living Libations, the frankincense smell. And then after, I use the Weleda cleansing milk, which you can get at a natural food store. If I’m not wearing makeup, I usually only wash it with one or the other, but if I’m wearing makeup, I use the oil first to break down the makeup, and then the Weleda.”

10. Samara Weaving

Shutterstock

Samara Weaving is best known for her roles in Ready or Not and The Babysitter. She shared her diet secrets with Marie Claire. “As cliché as it sounds, you’ve got to listen to your body. If I go for three days of just having fruit and vegetables, I’ll make a salad and a rice bowl for dinner and have lighter meals. The next three days I’ll have pasta and more carbs and eggs benedict for breakfast. I listen to my body and what am I really craving? As soon as you go, ‘I’m going to diet for two weeks,’ what you’re craving is what you set out not to have.”

11. Olivia Cooke

London,,United,Kingdom,-,March,19,,2018:,Olivia,Cooke,AttendsShutterstock

Ouija and The Quiet Ones star Olivia Cooke talked about her fitness routine to Byrdie. “I wish it wasn’t the case, but exercise feels like I’m shoveling serotonin and dopamine directly into my brain. It’s just a pain in the arse to force myself to do it. I can be slobbish and put it off for a few days or a week if I’m working, but then I really start to feel the effects of that mentally. Sometimes I'll do a half-hour to 45-minute blast, either following a video from Madfit on YouTube or a guided yoga class on Glo. Or, if I’m not in the mood to be told what to do, I’ll make it up as I go along listening to the radio.”

12. Joey King

Los,Angeles,-,Jan,31:,Joey,King,Arrives,For,TheShutterstock

The Conjuring star, Joey King, talked about her morning routine to Byrdie. “I wake up, I pack my Gatorade and many liters of water. I eat a big breakfast: a bowl of oats with lots of fruit and some toast. I head to training, where I fuckin' go for it for a few hours. Then I have meetings to prepare for the rest of the film. Then I take a shower, shove myself in an ice bath, and then I am miserable while I'm doing that. But then I get out and sleep like a goddamn baby."

13. Haley Lu Richardson

Los,Angeles,-,Mar,4:,Haley,Lu,Richardson,At,TheShutterstock

Haley Lu Richardson is known for her role in the film Split. She talked about her skincare routine to Byrdie. “I'm very into my skincare routine and use products that are as natural as possible. I love Eminence Organics and use a face wash and exfoliator from the brand. I also use Derma-E's hyaluronic acid serum ($30). I love Starface pimple patches ($15), and then there's this brand called Squish that makes these gorgeous little floral patches with rhinestones at the center ($14). Fun pimple stickers are the best invention since sliced bread. I wish they existed when I was a teen because they make having acne fun.”

14. Sofia Boutella

Los,Angeles,-,Oct,20:,Sofia,Boutella,At,The,GoShutterstock

One of Sofia Boutella’s best known roles is for the horror film Climax. She shared her leg exercises in an interview with Coach Web. “The leg work I do is about performing one movement over and over again for long enough until the muscle goes numb – that’s when I know it’s working. It takes me around half an hour so I put on some music and repeat the exercise until I can’t feel myself doing it any more. It’s hardcore, but it’s worth it. The feeling of being able to kick with greater strength each day is empowering.”

15. Bella Thorne

Los,Angeles,,Ca,/,Usa,-,February,09,,2020:,BellaShutterstock

Bella Thorne has starred in Keep Watching and Amityville: The Awakening. On Twitter, she encouraged her followers to not weigh themselves. “Almost every day I have been to the gym in the last 6 weeks,” Thorne wrote. “Turns out I only lost one pound of fat and gained one pound of muscle.. throw away your scales ladies because they don’t mean s**t. As long as YOU feel better and u like the way u look that’s all that matters.”

Some of us work for the weekends. Some celebs seem to turn everyday into a weekend, judging by their Instagram posts from the beach, movie premieres or lavish backyards. From Paulina Porizkova to Lady Gaga, read on to see all the ways these celebs stay in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. Paulina Porizkova

The legendary supermodel posed in a white bikini while enjoying her beach vacation. She also revealed in the caption that she had come to some realizations about self-acceptance during her vacation, and credited Sarah Jessica Parker with helping her come to this realization. “I flash on Carmen Del’Orefice’s words regarding cosmetic interventions, 'If you had the ceiling falling down in your living room,' Dell'Orefice said, 'would you not go and have a repair?' She has a good point. If you CAN fix it, why wouldn’t you? I battle with this all the time. Because sometimes I DO want to fix it. But more often, I think CAN and SHOULD are two separate things. Or at least, they should be. To me, the alarming part is that the assumption here is that our aging faces are 'falling down ceilings', that there is something wrong with aging - for WOMEN. That there is something wrong with your face if it shows your age. If you’re a WOMAN.Certainly, part of it is biology. Women become invisible when no longer fertile. In the caveman days- that may have made sense. Men were pretty sure to be dead by the time their seed was of questionable quality - just picture an old dude hunting- and figure who’s gonna go down first if things go wrong. Meanwhile, the older woman, safe in a cave, and freed from being a baby maker , could still cook and heal and nurture. The problem is we no longer live in caves. The men that run our world today (big brains- small muscles) would have never made it past childhood in the olden days. It’s called evolution. So come on ladies, let’s not be left behind.”

2. Kesha

Singer Kesha has never been afraid to show off her body in her music videos and her social media. This week, she posted a photo on Instagram of herself climbing a tree naked, with the caption, “I’m not extra, you are.” Her trainer, Kit Rich, tells Shape that the singer loves to do Pilates. “My type of workout creates a long and lean looking athlete,” Rich says. “I want women to feel powerful, empowered, and energized. With Kesha, I've noticed such an improvement in strength. With Pilates, she has improved quickly. The moves are very intricate and specific, and she really loves it. She requests it every time she comes.”

3. Molly Sims

Model Molly Sims didn’t have to do carpooling this week, and she celebrated by looking stunning in an autumn outfit. Sims is known for her incredible figure, and she tells Women’s Health that she eats healthy to maintain her figure. One of Sims’ secrets is avoiding sugar in her diet. "I tend to stay away from anything super sugary, like orange juice grapefruit juice, because it really spikes me," she said. "I try to stay away from dried fruits; it's ultimately full of sugar."

4. Helena Christensen

Model Helena Christensen shared snaps from behind the scenes at one of her shoots on Instagram this week. The 52 year old stunner wore a tight black one-piece, showing off her figure and her long legs. Despite being a model, Christensen tells Allure that she’s never been on a stereotypical “model diet.” In fact, she says that she eats what she wants.

5. Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga celebrated the premiere of her new movie, House of Gucci, this week. The singer stunned in a purple flowy dress while walking the red carpet. According to The New York Times, Gaga loves to do yoga, specifically bikram yoga. She’s even posted photos on Instagram of herself practicing yoga.

6. Zendaya

Actress Zendaya received the prestigious Icon Award at this year’s CDFAs. And she proved why she deserved the award by wearing a stunning Vera Wang red gown that exposed her midriff. When it comes to her diet, Zendaya has been open about being a vegetarian. However, she revealed to UsWeekly that this choice isn’t always easy for her. “I am a vegetarian who doesn’t like vegetables too much - makes it challenging!”

7. Taylor Swift

This was a big week for Taylor Swift, as her re-recorded version of her critically acclaimed and fan-favorite album, Red, was released this week. When it comes to her daily diet, Swift admits that she doesn’t really stick to a plan. "I allow myself to eat what common sense tells me is bad for me. I like comfort foods,” she tells WebMD.

Helena Christensen is one of the most famous and successful supermodels of all time. She’s still looking the same way she did at the beginning of her career, at age 53, and her most recent set of photos prove it. In them, Christensen spent time in a cottage in the woods. She did a lot of activities, including going for a dip in the lake. In that photo, Christensen posed in a green one-piece. "City 👩🏻 country♥️ ~ Vintage/ secondhand up @staerkandchristensen #pawnshop," she captioned it. How does she stay so fit? 1. She Gets Enough Sleep

Christensen revealed some of her wellness secrets in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar. She says that getting enough sleep is the most important thing in her wellness routine. "I feel absolutely the best when I have had good sleep. That’s my number one priority. I actually think it is the number one priority for most people. It just changes your entire day - when you haven't had enough sleep and also when you have."

2. She Pole Dances

What Goes Around Comes Around 25th Anniversary Celebration At The Versace Mansion With a Retrospective Tribute To Gianni VersaceAstrid Stawiarz/Getty Images

In her Harper’s Bazaar interview, Christensen broke down her favorite exercises. One of her favorite things to do is pole dance. “It is the hardest physical activity I have ever done in my life,” she said. “I have so much awe and respect for pole dancers. It's like virtual ballet to me, so the perception of it as seedy doesn't even annoy me; it goes right over the top of my head. To people who think like that, I want to say, 'well, you just go try it.'"

3. She Boxes

Christensen tells Harper’s Bazaar that she likes to do workouts that give her results quickly. She says that boxing is one of her favorite workouts for that reason. “For me, working out is about instant gratification; I want to see changes if I’m going to put the effort in! My thing is boxing - I like to feel strong. Boxing might seem like a male-orientated sport but there are as many women where I go and that is a very authentic, sweaty club. It’s a little gym in New York, where they train a lot of the champions, and my trainer’s name is Jason Lee. I don't want to reveal its name, though, as then all the models will come and I'll be like, 'get out of my club!' I want to be there with the real gritty people."

4. She Sprints

Christensen tells Harper’s Bazaar that she is a runner, but she doesn’t make her runs super long. She explains that she prefers shorter sprints, as they are easier to do, and help her body. “Sprint, don't run, because that immediately sparks your metabolism and stuns your body by engaging your muscle groups in a very explosive way. I can't run for 40 minutes at the same pace, listening to music. I will do 20 minutes and then I'm dying.”

5. She Still Indulges

Christensen may be a supermodel, but don’t expect her to just eat salad all day. "I’m not the kind of person who will limit myself to any kind of food,” she tells Allure. “I could not live without bread and pasta. I eat real butter and drink whole milk. And I’m obsessed with Japanese food and Moroccan stews. So when I think about working out, yes, it’s good for the mind — but it’s also because I eat...a lot of food."

Especially when it comes to her workouts. “I've never looked at myself and thought, you can't do this because you're a woman. Over and over, it’s been proven that women can do the same physical activities as men. Don't hold yourself back, especially if you feel like you can't because of your gender. That shouldn't be the reason stopping you from doing anything."

3. She’s Inspired By Others

She Does Squats

Stankovic does squats to keep herself in shape, as you can see in her Instagram video. Piedmont says that this exercise has a lot of health benefits. “Whether you’re hoping to tone your muscles, strengthen your core or just improve overall health, squats are one of the best exercises you can do. Although the movements appear relatively simple, squats can take time to master. Joel Hardwick, ACSM EP-C, EIM2, an exercise physiologist at Piedmont Atlanta Fitness Center, says practice will pay off…Hardwick explains that squats are a compound, multi-joint movement, which means they exercise several muscle groups. When you perform a squat, you work your calves, quads, hamstrings, glutes, core and part of your back.”

She Does Lunges

Stankovic is also seen doing lunges in her Instagram video. The Mayo Clinic reports that lunges are very beneficial to do. “The lunge is a body resistance exercise that works the leg muscles. Specifically, the lunge targets the quadriceps and the hamstring muscles in the thigh, the gluteal muscles in the buttock, and to a lesser extent, the lower leg muscles. The lunge is a great conditioning exercise for many sports, especially those that involve lunging movements, such as tennis, basketball or soccer.”

She Does Cardio

Stankovic likes to do cardio workouts to keep herself in shape. She shared this video of herself doing fast box jumps in different directions on Instagram. Stankovic captioned it, “Morning cardio challenge.” Cardio exercises have a lot of benefits. The Cleveland Clinic says, “When you work your heart and other muscles of your body during cardio exercise, this increases oxygen supply to your whole body, allowing all muscles to work harder and more efficiently. Over time, regular cardio exercise allows your muscles to adapt to an increased workload, making regular activities seem easier.”

She Does Pilates

Stankovic shares a lot of her favorite workouts in an Instagram story highlight. In some of the stories, she is seen doing Pilates exercises on a reformer. Pilates is very beneficial. The Cleveland Clinic says, “One of the reasons Pilates is such a good workout is that it specifically focuses on building core strength.”

She Strength Trains

Stankovic likes to strength train to keep herself in shape. She shared this Instagram story of herself using dumbbells. ACE Fitness says that strength training and using weights has a lot of health benefits. “Strength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle’s appearance.”

Kim French is more than just a personal trainer—she’s a fitness coach who empowers thousands through her Believe App and Instagram workouts. Known for her structured, effective home training plans, she proves that you don’t need a gym full of heavy weights to build serious strength.

In a recent Instagram post, French shared a glimpse of her at-home training, reminding followers that smart training delivers "REAL results." Rocking a sleek two-piece workout set, she showcased some of her go-to exercises, emphasizing that with the right strategy, anyone can see progress.

So what’s in her routine? From deadlifts to hip thrusts, here’s how French sculpts her powerhouse physique.

She Does Deadlifts

French is seen doing deadlifts in her Instagram post. This exercise has a lot of benefits. NASM says, “A Romanian deadlift is a hip-hinge pattern that works the hamstrings and glutes. It is a form of deadlift with noticeably less bend in the knee, leading to greater hamstring engagement than traditional deadlifts. The move was introduced to the masses in the 90s by Romanian weightlifter Nicu Vlad (an Olympic and World Weightlifting champion) and his coach Dragomir Cioroslan. The two invented the move to help Nicu strengthen his back for the clean and jerk. Today, RDLs are commonly used to strengthen the posterior chain, using the core muscles to stabilize and the hamstrings and glutes to drive the movement.”

She Does Lunges

Another exercise that French is seen doing in her Instagram post is lunges. NASM says that they are very beneficial. “The lunge is a versatile, simple and effective movement for lower body training. Various positions, planes of motion and speeds can all yield different training adaptations for the exerciser. Lunges are the gift that keeps on giving!”

She Does Squats

French is seen doing squats in her Instagram video. According to The Cleveland Clinic, squats are very beneficial. “Here’s a quick look at the many benefits of squats, also known as bodyweight squats or air squats: Works major muscle groups. Burns calories. Strengthens your core. Improves lower body strength. Enhances stability and balance. Betters your posture.”

She Does Hamstring Curls

According to The Mayo Clinic, hamstring curls are very beneficial. “The seated hamstring curl is an exercise you can do with a weight machine to work the muscles in the back of the thigh. As the name implies, the seated hamstring curl targets the hamstring muscles here in the back of the thigh. Strong hamstring muscles help to protect your ligaments in the knee.”

She Does Hip Thrusts

French shared this video on Instagram of herself doing hip thrusts. She captioned it, “Hip Thrusts are no doubt one of the best exercises for building your Glutes but of course with any exercise, the form has to be correct for you to see the maximum benefits…✖️ Feet too far forwards will engage your hamstrings more ✖️ Feet too close to you will engage your quads more ✔️ Feet placed so your calves are vertical will engage your glutes more.”
