She Tries A Lot of Different Workouts

Christensen revealed to Allure that she's tried a lot of different workouts throughout her life. Some are pretty unexpected and unique. She says, "I used to wake up in the morning and sprint, which is a great way to spark your metabolism and get your brain tuned up. And in my mid-30s, I started boxing. My newest exercise is pole dancing, and it's the hardest thing I've ever done. The upper-body strength you need to carry out any of the moves is mind-blowing."

She Eats What She Wants

Despite being a supermodel, Christensen says she's never been on a stereotypical "model diet." In fact, she tells Allure that she eats what she wants. "I'm not the kind of person who will limit myself to any kind of food. I could not live without bread and pasta. I eat real butter and drink whole milk. And I'm obsessed with Japanese food and Moroccan stews. So when I think about working out, yes, it's good for the mind — but it's also because I eat a hell of a lot of food."

She Takes Vitamins

One of Christensen's health secrets is taking vitamins daily. In fact, she's had this ritual for a long time. "I was always the one carrying around the plastic pillbox with the days of the week on it, spilling vitamins in my bag," she says to Allure. "When I was approached by Lumity, I tried [the supplements] for a few months and saw that I could eliminate a lot of the other pills I was taking. They all contain vitamin D, zinc, flaxseed oil. I'm taking care of my insides and my outsides, and that's the best I can do."

4

She Meditates, In Her Own Way

Christensen tells Allure that she's a big fan of meditation. However, she says that she doesn't meditate in the traditional way. She says, "I can't just sit still and think of a mantra or repeat a thought or a word. But there are other ways of finding your stillness. Sometimes I do it by organizing or cleaning. I recently took up piano again, and that is a very good way of being in a calm zone by myself and using my mind differently. That's my form of meditation. The key is to find what works for you."

When revealing her wellness secrets to Harper's Bazaar, Christensen said one of her most important tricks is getting enough sleep. "I feel absolutely the best when I have had good sleep. That's my number one priority. I actually think it is the number one priority for most people. It just changes your entire day – when you haven't had enough sleep and also when you have."

She Never Holds Herself Back

While sexism and double standard are rampant through society, Christensen says that she tries to not feel held back by her gender. She encourages others to do the same, saying to Harper's Bazaar, "I've never looked at myself and thought, you can't do this because you're a woman. Over and over, it's been proven that women can do the same physical activities as men. Don't hold yourself back, especially if you feel like you can't because of your gender. That shouldn't be the reason stopping you from doing anything."
