Golan opened up about her wellness approach in an interview with Women Fitness. “For me, it's all about eating healthy and being physically active,” she said. One of the ways Golan stays active is by walking as often as she can. “I love going for walks, I walk as often as I can. I try to walk between meetings and carry comfy shoes when I can.”

Golan says that she likes to do little things throughout her day to stay active, and to make sure that she gets her steps in. When it comes to her diet, Golan likes to eat as healthy and as naturally as she can, and she also likes to support her local food suppliers. “I try as often as possible to eat Organic locally grown food,” she says to Women Fitness. “I try as often as possible to avoid GMO food (genetically modified foods). There's a great company called Riverford Farms and they have a chain of Organic farms and they deliver locally grown organic food to your home. I love them.”

Golan tells Women Fitness that she follows the popular Blood Type Diet, which involves eating foods that are determined by what blood you have. “I also try to follow the blood type diet. There’s a book called Eat Right 4 Your Type that’s great.”

5. She Learned About Her Body’s Sensitivities

In addition to eating for her blood type, Golan also tells Women Fitness that she avoids food that her body is sensitive to. She says that she decided to take a test to see if she had any unknown allergies or sensitivities. “I also took a ‘hidden food allergy test’ that tells you the foods that your body may not like, but you wouldn’t have obvious allergic reactions too.”

I somehow shockingly got in with only my dance background. College was definitely where my love for acting started. Once I graduated, I slowly began to focus on film and TV and that really felt like home for me.”

Kohan wants to expand beyond acting. “I can see myself producing more, if I was to expand,” she says. “My boyfriend is interested in directing. In the summer we had TV allowance every day. We were encouraged to play, do homework, dance, etc. Anything, connecting to acting wise was dance based, which led me into acting.”

Kohan appreciates the slower pace of Sullivan’s Crossing. “Sullivan’s Crossing is a family drama that takes place in a small town with a super tight knit community, and because of that, you really learn to love each character and grow with them,” she says. “Not to mention it has a beautiful, slow burning love story at its heart. It’s the kind of show that I think everyone can see a part of themselves in and that’s what I believe really made those classic narrative dramas on CW thrive the way they did.‍”

4. Hiking With Her Dog

Kohan loves hiking with her pup. “You don’t have to go it alone next time you lace up your hiking boots. Grab a friend, neighbor, or family member for more fun on the trail,” according to the National Park Service. “Hiking with a partner, or even in a group, can improve the strength and health of your relationships. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.
