She Works Her Abs
Martínez has amazing abs. And she does a lot of ab workouts to stay in shape. In the previous Instagram video, she is seen doing opposite elbow to knee crunches. Having a strong core is very important. The Mayo Clinic states, "Your core is the central part of your body. It includes your pelvis, lower back, hips and stomach. The stomach muscles sometimes are called abs. Core exercises train the muscles in your core to work in harmony. This leads to better balance and steadiness, also called stability. Stability is important whether you're on the playing field or doing regular activities. In fact, most sports and other physical activities depend on stable core muscles."
She Weight Trains
Another type of workout that Martínez likes to do is weight and strength training. In the previous Instagram video, she is seen doing squats with hand dumbbells. The Mayo Clinic states that strength training has a lot of health benefits. "Strength training may enhance your quality of life and improve your ability to do everyday activities. Strength training can also protect your joints from injury. Building muscle also can contribute to better balance and may reduce your risk of falls. This can help you maintain independence as you age."
She Surfs
As you can see from her most recent Instagram post, Martínez loves to go to the beach. One activity she likes to do when she's there is go surfing. Martínez shared this set of photos on Instagram of a beach trip she took. In them, she is seen with a board. She captioned the post, "Some of my best moments of these last days. Your favorite?"
She Snowboards
Martínez loves to spend time in the snow. One thing she likes to do in particular is go snowboarding. She shared this video on Instagram of herself going down a mountain, before falling backwards. Martínez captioned the post, "I screwed up my shoulder, don't fall like that…" The University of Rochester reports that snowboarding has a lot of benefits. "Skiing and snowboarding are thrilling activities and great workouts. Both sports are excellent cardiovascular exercises that strengthen the heart. Because they are also weight-bearing exercises, they strengthen your bones as they tone your muscles. Cardiovascular or aerobic exercises also work to reduce your risk for chronic diseases, and lower blood pressure. They also help you maintain a healthy body weight. Through regular aerobic exercise like skiing and snowboarding, you lower your risk of developing conditions like diabetes and heart disease, having a stroke, and perhaps even getting cancer."
