She Meditates

Ira is all about meditaiton. "One suggestion that I would like to give on women's day is to incorporate 5-10 minutes of meditation into their lives. Simply because women these days live such stressful lives. A lot of women are working but they are also still doing a lot of domestic work. Women are working out of the house but they are still expected to do everything in the house and that creates a double whammy. With men, the roles are still segregated. So, 5-10 minutes of mediation is crucial," she told Pink Villa.

She Does Yoga

It comes as no surprise that the main way Ira stays in shape is via yoga. "There is a sutra from the yoga sutras of Patanjali, that is yoga chitta vritti nirodha and what this means is that fluctuations of the mind, how our temper goes up and down, our mood swings, all of this can be controlled by the practice of yoga and this is the truth, I have experienced this in my own life. So, yoga helps in keeping those fluctuating emotions at bay. It helps give steadiness which doesn't happen often because our mind is like a roller coaster. So, doing yoga can really help with all of that," she told Pink Villa.

Ira encourages meal planning to make it easy to stick to a healthy diet. "Instead of just randomly deciding and eating out of the fridge and deciding at the last moment, plan your menu for the week. Every Sunday sit down and plan your menu, purchase your ingredients in advance. Make sure your fridge is stocked, make a menu and paste it in the kitchen so that you know what needs to be cooked on that particular day," she tells Pink VIlla.

No matter what type of trail you find yourself on, hiking is a great whole-body workout—from head to toe and everything in between," says the National Parks Service. Some of the physical benefits include building stronger muscles and bones, improving your sense of balance, improving your heart health, and decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems. It also offers many mental health benefits, according to a Stanford University study.
