Jamie Lee Curtis Dresses Like Her Mom From Psycho at Halloween Kills Premiere
The newest installment of the Halloween film series, Halloween Kills, just held its film premiere, right on time for the Halloween season. Star Jamie Lee Curtis decided to channel her mother, actress Janet Leigh, at the premiere. (the movie is out this Friday in theaters and on Peacock.) She's Sober
Curtis revealed to People that she previously suffered from opioid addiction, and has been sober since 1999. "I'm breaking the cycle that has basically destroyed the lives of generations in my family," said Curtis. "Getting sober remains my single greatest accomplishment … bigger than my husband, bigger than both of my children, and bigger than any work, success, failure. Anything."
She Doesn't Read Comments On Social Media
Being in the public eye can be difficult, especially when it comes to comments on social media. However, Curtis tells Fast Company that she completely avoids comments. "I use social media to sell things and amplify things I care about. Period. The rest is cancer," said Curtis. "I never read one comment. I believe I can do my job and have a private life. I believe in the separation of church and state. I believe that I do not owe anybody anything once I've done my work. I am by nature a super-friendly person, but I also have a very clear boundary of what is appropriate and inappropriate for me to share."
She Eats Healthy
Curtis tells EverydayHealth.com that she makes sure to eat healthy everyday. She says, "I eat a lot of raw veggies as well as protein, and I avoid lots of carbs." Curtis says that this diet helps with her digestive health.
She Stays Active
Curtis makes sure to stay active, and she has some go-to favorite workouts. "I do Pilates, I do yoga, I exercise, I eat very carefully," she said to More. Curtis also makes sure to maintain a sense of humor about her workouts, joking, "I have a name for my middle here. Her name is Midge. When I do Pilates, we talk about Midge. 'Pull in Midge.'"
She Follows A 10-Step Health Plan
Curtis tells Everyday Health that she has a ten step plan to stay healthy. She lists her steps saying, "Eat frequent small meals. Increase your fiber intake, by eating fruits, vegetables, and legumes.Try to eat three to five servings of fish a week.Avoid fried and fatty foods. That's obvious. Consume fermented foods like yogurt. Consume meats that are lower in fat – try chicken, turkey, and pork. Fluids are key. Drink lots of water! Slow down when you're eating and chew food properly, to encourage a "full" feeling. Stay fit, exercise regularly. Maintain a fighting weight."
