1

Seafood Lover

Davis enjoys seafood, especially lobster dishes. "Lobster provides a significant amount of minerals, such as zinc, calcium, phosphorus, selenium, and potassium, as well as B vitamins," Faye L. Dong, Ph.D., professor emerita, department of food science and human nutrition, University of Illinois, tells Consumer Reports.

2

Self-Care

Davis prioritizes self-care. "Self-care is anything that we kind of deliberately do or refrain from doing with our own well-being in mind, anything that promotes our own physical, emotional, psychological or spiritual well-being. It doesn't really have to be more complicated than that," says Matthew Sacco, PsyD, psychologist for Cleveland Clinic.

3

Coffee Please

Davis is a big fan of iced coffee. "A study published in 2015 in the journal Circulation tracked more than 200,000 participants for 30 years," says Michael Daignault, MD. "Those who drank 3 to 5 cups of coffee a day were 15% less likely to die from all causes of mortality including cardiovascular disease, Parkinson's disease and suicide. A more recent study in 2018 tracked over 500,000 participants across 10 years. Compared to non-coffee drinkers, participants who downed 6 to 7 cups daily had a 16% lower risk of early death."

4

Charcuterie For One

Davis loves treating herself to a charcuterie board with plenty of cheese. "Cheese provides a slew of beneficial nutrients," says Samantha Cassetty, RD. "Cheese contains protein, fat and saturated fat, sodium, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, and vitamin B12, among other nutrients. However, amounts vary, depending on the type of cheese you select. While many of these nutrients are necessary for optimal health, some, like saturated fat and sodium, are discouraged."

5

She Loves To Swim

Davis enjoys regular pool time. "If you struggle to exercise, remember that even a little exercise provides enormous benefits for both physical and mental health. You don't have to run a marathon or swim the English Channel," says Mark Lieber, MD. "And if you don't like to exercise, find a way to make it enjoyable. For most people, that means making it social. Exercising with friends will help you find the motivation to show up and keep going."
