Her Weight Has Fluctuated

Jenelle's weight has been scrutinized by online trolls over the years. In 2021, she addressed comments asking if she was pregnant. "Back in 2015 I started gaining weight and also I was being cheated on," she revealed in a TikTok, including some throwback photos. "And this is when I was feeling totally insecure and feeling like I needed to something about my body or I wouldn't be loved." She then shared photos of herself exercising. "So I started going to the gym. Like damn, I looked good… but was I happy? No. Was I trying to impress people? Yeah." She then posted photos of herself looking skinny in a swimsuit.  "Acting like I was living my best life, but I wasn't happy. Trying to be conceited once again but you know what? When you start living for yourself, this is when you'll be happy." She then shared photos of herself with more swerve to her curves.  "Happy wife, happy life. Strut your stuff. Happier is better, and no, I'm not pregnant – just happy," she concluded.

She Started Eating Healthier

After the body shaming incident, she decided to make some healthy changes. "Eating healthier lately!" she wrote on Instagram. "Cut out a lot of fast food, soda, and bread. I haven't been trying, but I am losing weight without working out!" ​​

She Started Focusing More On Her Mental Health

"Feeling great lately," she added in the same post. "Focusing more on my mental health and body has been more than amazing and very rewarding in my opinion."

She Dabbles in Intermittent Fasting

In 2021 Jenelle revealed in a TikTok that she was on an intermittent fasting plan, the 16:8, which involves eating food during an eight hour window. In it, she said she drank a cup of coffee in the morning, followed by a can of water a few hours later. At noon, she ate avocado with lemon juice. And then at 7:00pm, a real meal consisting of turkey and dumplings.

She Was Recently Diagnosed with Fibromyalgia

In March 2022, Jenelle was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. "For as long as I can remember, I would get extremely bad tension headaches and full body aches—like I had the flu, but was not sick," she told E! News, adding that sinus problems and neck and back pain were also symptoms she had experienced. "My entire body gets in so much pain and sometimes I lay in bed and cry. [For] a long time, no one believed my symptoms until I got a second opinion from a new neurologist recently," she continued. "I now know why my body is acting the way it does and it explains a lot. I never knew what fibromyalgia was until my doctor diagnosed me." Per the Mayo Clinic, fibromyalgia is "a disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues."
