Jessica does everything from calming, strengthening yoga to hiking Mt. Kilimanjaro to bring attention to the global water crisis. Regardless of what exercise she’s prioritizing at the moment, the actress puts her athleticism first according to her interview with the Los Angeles Times. “I did a lot of walking with a 30-pound backpack on an incline. I also tried to spend as much time in altitude as I possibly could, which was really key. Altitude really affects you in weird ways.”

2. Healthy Habits Were Ingrained at a Young Age

Celebrities Visit Broadway - January 21, 2020Bruce Glikas/WireImage

Her love of sports came as she was growing up when she did gymnastics, soccer, dance, and more. She even partially owes her relaxed demeanor in front of the camera to being comfortable in her own skin and gaining confidence through sports as a child. “I’m aware of how my muscles feel, what it feels like when anything changes. Playing sports and being physical helps me maintain that sort of relationship with my own body. So when I’m doing something or performing in a physical role, I understand that,” Jessica explained to ESPN.

3. A Body in Motion Stays in Motion

Jessica is always in motion, from her workouts, to floor exercises like headstands and squats, to hiking in Hollywood with her family. The Fitness Reaper broke down her routine, and if she’s not working out, she’s doing fun, but active, activities with friends or family, running to appointments, and outside moving around. She’s training using different cardio techniques involving high intensity interval training, squats, jumps, and more drills to chisel her body.

4. She Focuses on a Wide Variety of Workouts

“Yoga’s not about competition,”Jessica said. “And I think so many of these fitness routines that we love, like classes, whether it’s on a bike or it’s a circuit thing, or whatever it is, I feel like you’re always kind of being compared to your neighbor, like ‘Come on! Let’s do it!’ and everyone’s yelling at you or screaming at you, and that’s great, and that’s fun sometimes. But when you’re on your mat, it’s you, and that’s it.” With yoga, she also adds in some resistance training to build up strength and balance.

5. She Lives an Active Lifestyle

More times than not when you read about the stars and their fitness habits, it’s a grueling process. For Jessica, it is really a way of life that she actually enjoys doing. 1. She Cooks With Veggies From Her Garden

Starting a garden is a good idea all around. It not only gives you a hobby and a reason to be outside in the sun, getting that oh so important vitamin D, but it also provides you with fresh seasonal ingredients to use at your leisure year round. “We have a beautiful garden and go out all of the time, every couple of days, pick spinach and pick radishes and things and throw them together in a salad and it’s wonderful,” Jessica explains. “That’s probably one of the coolest things I think about living in California is that we can really grow all year long.” She likes to throw veggies in some quinoa or serve them with a grilled veggie burger, too.

2. Kind of Paleo, Kind of Not

Photo Call For Facebook Watch's "Limetown"Frazer Harrison/Getty Images

She doesn’t seem to take anything too strict, giving herself a little room to be flexible, but also seeking out foods most of the time that taste good and are healthy.. “So recently my family has been making this pancake mix we like, it’s a Paleo pancake mix, it has a lot of coconut, no gluten, no wheat, no dairy... delicious,” Jessica explains. “So we’ll start off with Paleo pancakes with some cashew or almond butter on top with some local honey, and we like chicken-apple sausage, and then maybe a fresh juice from the Juicero machine, which we love, we have some green tea with honey -- that’s a pretty normal morning for me.” she told the Los Angeles Times.

3. She’s Not An All Or All-Or-Nothing Person

70th Emmy Awards - ArrivalsAxelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic

Even though she makes some paleo, gluten-free, and dairy free choices for the most part, she doesn’t restrict herself too much. “Just creating a balance if possible… but honestly I just feel better when I don’t have gluten or wheat or dairy, Jessica said. “My digestion is better, I feel better, I have more energy… I just try to eat really healthy. I mean, of course I have cheat-days and will go out and have, like, cookies and pizza. If I’m training maybe I up the protein intake…. I don’t do so much eating for training unless I’m really training for something specific.” Jessica doesn’t believe in completely kicking out certain foods from her diet all together. "I'm not all-out anything," as she put it in a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times.

4. She Focuses on a Wide Variety of Workouts

The actress has always maintained an active lifestyle, working sports into her routine in addition to yoga and other cardio workouts. “I’m aware of how my muscles feel, what it feels like when anything changes. Playing sports and being physical helps me maintain that sort of relationship with my own body. So when I’m doing something or performing in a physical role, I understand that,” Jessica told ESPN.

5. She Lives an Active Lifestyle

Ingrained at a young age, Jessica spent a big part of her life playing sports like soccer and gymnastics and going on hikes with her friends. She’s always prioritized being outside, enjoying activities like snowboarding in the winter or golfing or volleyball in the summer, according to Fitness Reaper

Jessica Biel can do everything her husband, Justin Timberlake can do – in the gym. In a new social media post, the actress shows off her amazing body and impressive strength while pulling herself up while holding onto rings. “Ok now ladies…” Timberlake captioned the Instagram video. “This is basically the black belt version of working out 💪” commented the couple’s trainer, Ben Bruno. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

1. She Is a Fan of the Workout Buddy System

As can be evidence in her latest post, Jessica’s husband is her workout buddy. “Please excuse the photobomb from @justintimberlake while @jessicabiel casually knocks out a super-impressive set of single leg squats,” Bruno captioned a video of the two exercising together. “We’ll give Justin a pass since he’s doing sled rows with four plates on the sled and making it look easy. They’ve definitely gotta be one of the fittest couples around, and they always work hard in the gym while also making sure to keep it fun. Very cool.”

2. She Does Yoga

Jessica has been doing yoga for many years. She initially got into it “through a close friend who was an instructor. At first I felt like, ‘I can’t do all those crazy poses,’ and I still can’t, but I’m not competing with anyone. I want to demystify yoga and bring it out to more women and men in the community, where it doesn’t have to be intimidating,” Jessica told Gaiam. Here is why you should try yoga, says Harvard Health. “Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years, gained less weight during middle adulthood,” they said. “People who were overweight actually lost weight. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness. Mindful eating can lead to a more positive relationship with food and eating.”

3. She Hikes

Jessica is all about hiking and mountain climbing.. She once climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. "I've learned that I can push forward, which was exciting for me,” she told Glamour about the experience. “When you get out into the wilderness and strip [away] all of the stuff in your everyday life, you really gain a great respect for your own life, simply as it is. Needing things starts to feel like, Oh, I kind of have everything, don't I? It's pretty great.” The National Parks Service explains that the physical benefits of hiking include building stronger muscles and bones, improving your sense of balance, improving your heart health, and decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems.

4. No Gluten, Wheat, Dairy

Jessica is “not all-out anything" with her diet, but she does avoid a few things. "Honestly, I just feel better when I don't have gluten or wheat or dairy," she told Los Angeles Times. "My digestion is better, I feel better, I have more energy."

5. Paleo Pancakes and Protein

Jessica starts her day with Paleo pancakes “with some cashew or almond butter on top with some local honey,” and some protein. “We like chicken-apple sausage, and then maybe a fresh juice from the Juicero machine, which we love, we have some green tea with honey—that’s a pretty normal morning for me,” she said.

1. She Doesn’t Focus on Weight Loss

After Jessica lost a significant amount of weight post-baby number three, her trainer, Harley Pasternak, explained to People that she didn’t focus on the numbers on the scale. “I never work with scales. My work with her is more about the habits she’s created and kept up. And as a byproduct of doing these habits, she lost 100 pounds.” During a recent appearance on Today, she admitted she doesn’t even weigh herself. "I have no idea how much I weigh," Simpson explained. "I just want to feel good and be able to zip my pants up. If I don't, I have another size. I have every size."

2. She Keeps Track of Her Activity

Jessica may not focus on the numbers on the scale, but she does keep track of another measurement: Steps. When she first started working out again, her goal was 6,000 steps per day. However, eventually she built up to 14,000, per E News. “It’s a social thing that she can do with her kids," Pasternak said about walking off the weight.

3. She Eats Healthy Foods

According to Pasternak, Jessica followed his Body Reset Diet, which involves eating three healthy meals a day consisting of protein, fiber, and fat and two snacks of protein and fiber or protein and fat. “She’ll have foods that are very flavorable that are healthier versions of things like a tortilla soup or Tex-Mex," he explained. The healthy eating plan also allows for indulgences. However, she is allowed to splurge on occasion. “It’s about balancing in a way that doesn’t make it painful or too much of a departure from your life before that.”

4. She Works Out...Hard

Jessica makes exercise a priority. When she was trying to get into shape post-baby she completed 45-minute sessions three days a week, consisting mostly of strength and weight training exercises.

5. She Regenerates With Sleep

Jessica allowed her body to regenerate by giving it ample recovery time. "So many people undervalue the importance of sleep in weight loss and weight management," Pasternak explained to People about why the star made sleep a priority.

Simpson was a longtime advocate of the Weight Watchers, or WW, program, even appearing in several of their commercials. Simpson first started using the program in 2012 after having her first child, and lost 60 pounds. “I saw the results really quickly,” she told USA Today.

2. She Works With A Personal Trainer

After having her third child in 2019, Simpson worked with celebrity trainer, Harley Pasternak, to shed the baby weight. Simpson revealed on Instagram that while working with Pasternak, she dropped 100 pounds, and weighed 240 pounds while she was pregnant. “6 months. 100 pounds down (Yes, I tipped the scales at 240),” Simpson captioned the photo showing off her weight loss. Pasternak toldE! News that he worked with Simpson to make sustainable changes to her lifestyle. “It had to be more than just getting back from her baby weight, but how do I keep whatever I am doing now forever,” he said. “That’s why we are not a big fan of doing any extreme diet or radical forms of exercise.” Pasternak praised Simpson’s drive and commitment in the same interview. “We were kind of just getting in shape between kids and now it was sort of OK, I want to look fierce again and look great, confident and energized and I want to do it in a sustainable way,” he said. “That was her main goal.”

3. She Worked With A Dietician

Simpson also works with nutritionist Liz Josefsburg, on her diet and meal plans. Josefsburg told HollywoodLife.com about her and Simpson’s process on developing her diet. “She spent well over 6 months working off weight from her first and second pregnancies. She ate regular meals throughout the day. Usually three times and a snack. The key for Jessica was moderation and learning to indulge intelligently.”

4. She Gets At Least 10,000 Steps In A Day

Simpson makes sure to get her steps in everyday. Simpson’s trainer, Harley Pasternak, told E! News that one of the changes he and Simpson made involved increasing her daily steps to 14,000 a day. Simpson’s nutritionist, Liz Josefsburg, agreed. "Jessica loves to walk. She gets out almost every day to hit at least 10,000 steps. She loves it because she can do it anywhere, she can do it with her family and it helped her lose weight after every baby," she said to HollywoodLife.com.

5. She Stays Hydrated

Jessica Simpson Celebrates Her Memoir "Open Book" At Macy's Herald SquareKevin Mazur/Getty Images

Simpson tries to stay hydrated throughout the day, as recommended by her nutritionist, Liz Josefsburg. Josefsburg told HollywoodLife.com, “Hydration is a secret weapon for weight loss. In my book Target 100 I urge people to get in at least 100 ounces per day. Which might seem like a lot, but it is right for our bodies. Staying fully hydrated while losing weight is critical. Much of the overeating we do is mistaking thirst for hunger. If we can keep our bodies, which are made up of over 60% water, hydrated, they burn calories and metabolize food at an optimal rate!”

Water Skiing

Sydney Sweeney arrives to "The Road to the Golden Globes Party"

Sydney has been water skiing since she was a toddler. “The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what’s called a U-board to learn how to ski,” she told Women’s Health. “I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma’s or my cousin’s house, I’d wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Morning Workouts

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Self-Care

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

She Walks and Hikes

One of the ways she treats her anxiety is by spending time outdoors with her dog, Tank. She takes him on walks or hikes. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

Mariana relies on old-school strength training to keep her body toned. “Training till failure instead of reps + taking my ab routine up a notch by incorporating weighted exercises,” she wrote about one of her workout tactics. “I can feel my muscles being challenged and am in tune with my movements.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Other healthy habits? “Prioritizing digestion,” she writes in the same post. “Making sure I get enough fiber & starting off every morning with a juice cleanse. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”

Hiking

Mariana enjoys hiking. “Elevation therapy,” she captioned a post from one of her fitness adventures. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of some respiratory issues

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Emsculpt NEO

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.
