She Doesn't Diet
"Dieting is hard for me," JoJo once confessed to Us Weekly. "I love food too much. … I love Mexican food and truffle mac 'n' cheese — anything cheesy!" "Fad diets are plans sold as the best and fastest approach to losing weight. Yet some of these diets involve eliminating foods that contain necessary nutrients that your body needs to maintain good health. Some diets claim particular hormones are to blame for weight gain, suggesting that food can change body chemistry. Often these diets aren't well researched, or the research is faulty," says the Cleveland Clinic.
She Cooks Her Own Food
JoJo makes sure she is eating healthy by staying in control of her food in the kitchen. "I cook more now that I'm getting older, because you can't eat out every single day," she told Us. "It's easy to grill a piece of chicken and steam broccoli. I eat healthy, and then I'll have a cheat day."
She Exercises
JoJo, who was an athlete in her younger years, exercises. "Growing up I played basketball and volleyball, and I ran track. Now I go to the gym a couple times a week," she told Us. "I do a lot of cardio, like the StairMaster and spin classes." "Yes. Climbing stairs is an example of a practical, everyday physical activity that provides health benefits. It can also burn off calories — about 65 calories in 15 minutes. Going at a faster pace or carrying heavier items can burn even more calories," says the Mayo Clinic.
She Enlists the Help of a Canine Companion
Jojo also loves outdoor workouts. Lucky for her, she has a pal who also loves to get out and play. "I'll take my dog [Jackson, a German shorthaired pointer] to the park and run with him. That counts!" she told Us. "It probably doesn't come as a surprise that owning a dog requires a little bit of energy. Dogs have to be walked and exercised, which means dog owners are out there getting more physical activity than people without dogs. Older people are more likely to take regular walks with a dog than they are with a human, according to one study. Another found that 60% of dog owners who took their dogs for regular walks were considered to get regular moderate or vigorous exercise based on federal standards," says the Animal Health Foundation.
She Stays Active Outdoors
Another outdoor activity JoJo enjoys? Hiking. "Mt Shasta… you are gorgeous mystery," she captioned this photo of one of her expeditions. She also enjoys horseback riding, playing tennis with Jordan, and skiing. The couple regularly share photos of their activities together.
