1. She Doesn’t Need A Gym To Exercise
McDermott has become a fitness guru over the years. One of her philosophies is, you don’t need to go to the gym to workout, you can workout anywhere. She tells Women Fitness that she does a lot of at-home exercises, and workouts that don’t require a machine. “The good thing about my workout routine is that all the exercises you can do literally anywhere, no gym machines are needed.”

McDermott has an impressive set of gams, and she has them for a good reason. She tells Women Fitness that she doesn’t skip leg day, and loves doing an extensive lower body workout. “I love leg day. So my go-to routine is lunges, walking lunges, squats, squat holds, jumping squats and then ab exercises (crunches, v holds and sit ups).” McDermott’s favorite leg workouts are very effective. This post on leg exercises from Duke recommends squats and lunges as great leg and lower body exercises.

McDermott broke down some of her go-to meals to Women Fitness. She says that she usually eats pretty healthy, especially on weekdays. “A healthy breakfast for me always consists of eggs, a white egg omelette with spinach and tomatoes is my go to. Dinner is always mainly chicken based, I love a chicken stir fry or chicken fajitas.”

McDermott has gorgeous skin and dark hair, and she tells Women Fitness that she makes haircare and skincare a priority. “I’m obsessed with skin care, always making sure my skin is cleaned and moisturized. Hair care routine is my redken shampoo and conditioner and the redken all in one treatment spray. The night before I will always put coconut oil in my hair and wash it out in the morning, keeps it so soft and shiny!”
5. She Loves Yoga

McDermott is a big fan of practicing yoga, and she makes sure to do so regularly. Even when she’s on vacation, she loves to do a yoga session. She shared this reel on Instagram of herself doing poses on a balcony, while on her resort vacation in Cancun. She captioned the reel, “Yoga mornings.” Practicing yoga has a lot of benefits. It works out your body, it relaxes your mind, and it’s easy to do. According to the Mayo Clinic, “Yoga is a mind-body practice that combines physical poses, controlled breathing, and meditation or relaxation. Yoga may help reduce stress, lower blood pressure and lower your heart rate.”
