Now, she's making another splash. Gillan is on the cover of Women’s Health, and just posted a new set of photos from the shoot on her Instagram. In it, she posed in a maroon bathing suit top and green pants. "It felt good and actually rather cathartic to open up to @womenshealthmag about self care and dealing with anxiety," she captioned it. 1. She Jumps Rope

Gillan works with a personal trainer, Scott Pearlman, to help her get in shape for the Jumanji movie. Pearlman broke down some of the actress’ fitness routine to Healthista. “I love the jump rope. The beauty is you can take it anywhere to get an effective fat burning and toning workout. I also like to incorporate rope skipping into my circuit training. I usually incorporate it into my interval routines.”

2. She Interval Trains

Pearlman tells Healthista that he and Gillan do a lot of interval training. “A great workout to do might be 15 push-ups, 25 lunges, 25 squats, one minute of rope skipping and then one minute rest,” he said. “You should repeat that three times.” "Interval training enables you to complete an effective workout in less time than a standard cardiovascular workout. For example, you might complete a workout in about 15 to 20 minutes or less instead of 40 minutes," says the Mayo Clinic.

3. She Mixes Up Her Workouts

Pearlman likes to do a lot of different workouts with Gillan. He told Healthista, “Karen and I focused mostly on weight resistance and core training, we did lots of plank variations. She also attended several of my box-fit and HIIT training classes.”

4. She’s On The Keto Diet

Gillan revealed some of her wellness secrets in this video on her YouTube channel. To prepare for a role, Gillan took on a popular diet. “I’m on the keto diet, which I know nothing about,” she jokes. “I’m in ketosis.”

5. She Has A Personal Chef

Gillan has a busy schedule, which means she doesn’t always have time to eat healthy. Gillan doesn’t always have time to cook her meals, so she turns to a chef. “Luckily, I have someone who is making it for me,” she said on YouTube. “I truly don’t know if I’d be able to do that if I was left to my own devices.”
