Katee Sackhoff is indulging in self-care in her swimsuit. The Mandalorian star shows off her incredible body in one of her latest social media posts, wearing a bathing suit at the spa. “Spa day….needed,” she captioned the Instagram snap. How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 6 ways Katee Sackhoff stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. She Exercises Moderately

In a YouTube video with her trainer, Katee explained how she changes up her routine depending on current tole. For example, while playing Lieutenant Kara “Starbuck” Thrace on Battlestar Galactica she had a more relaxed approach to diet and exercise. “Part of the reason I didn’t want to change [Starbuck’s] body from my own was because she and I were very similar in that sense. She drank a lot and smoked cigars. This is not a person who is like the epitome of staying in shape … She wasn’t eating salad,” she said.

2. She Consumes a Lot of Protein

PaleyFest LA 2023 - "The Mandalorian"Albert L. Ortega/Getty Images

While portraying Dahl in the sci-fi action film Riddick, Sackhoff, who stands at five-feet, six-inches tall, revealed, “I was 160 pounds in that movie. I wanted Dahl to look like a badass. Then they started hiring all of these men that were huge … No matter how big I get, I’m going to look like a peanut next to Dave Batista.” For this reason, she decided to replace her calorie-burning, slimming routine with heavy-weight training to “get as jacked as possible.” She also ate large quantities of food, especially eggs, and worked up to curling 35 pounds. “I was huge—for me,” Sackhoff recalls.

3. She Runs

For her role in Longmire as Deputy Sheriff Victoria “Vic” Moretti she traded in the gym for running shoes. “Vic is very sensual; Vic is curvier than me now; Vic is a little softer,” she explains. “In my mind, she’s the type of person that probably goes for runs, but she’s not really lifting weights that much. She had brothers so she’s probably pretty physically capable and active, but she’s not going to the gym.”

4. She Drinks Coffee

Katee loves starting her morning with coffee. “Early morning press day in the Big Apple 🍎Mama needs coffee 😬☕️ #justwokeup,” she captioned a post. A 2022 study published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology found that drinking two to three cups a day of most types of coffee – especially a mild to moderate intake of ground, instant, and decaffeinated coffee – may protect you from cardiovascular disease and an early death.

5. She Takes Baths

Katee also takes baths. How can baths do your body and mind good? They have been linked to better sleep and even found helpful to minimize anxiety and depression. One recent study even found that they may even boast cardiovascular benefits.

6. She Takes Saunas

Katee also loves taking saunas. “It quickly became my favorite place to memorize dialogue and relax after work. So many of you asked me why we invested in an at home sauna. First and foremost I love heat 😂 I’m like a crazy person and the hotter it is the more at peace I feel ( I’m from the PNW and think my body just boycotted 😜) but truthfully it’s for the health benefits. I live pretty hard and fast, always have. My body has taken a beating and as I get older I’m more focused on recovery in order to allow my physical frame to keep up with my spiritual one,” she said about the practice.

1. She Does Yoga

“You’ll find yourself in Bulgaria, and you don’t know anyone, and they’ll say, ‘Well, we have a trainer who’s available, and he’s literally called The Punisher,’” Kate told Women's Health. The magazine says she “packs yoga workouts recorded by Jessica James and Mandy Ingber.” “I haven’t been injured while doing an action movie, and I think it’s partially from practicing yoga," she said.

2. She Does This Exercise

Kate recently revealed some of the workout moves responsible for her famously fit figure and also showed off her majorly impressive flexibility. She started out by executing a series of hanging leg raises, followed by knee raises on a pull-up bar. Next up, battle ropes! However, instead of getting just a hardcore arm workout in, the actress added a side lunge to the mix. To complete the workout, Kate’s helped her do some stretches, revealing just how flexible she is. “Do you have any bones? Omg,” singer Peter Frampton commented. “Damn, the only way I could get either of my legs that far back would be to amputate it and hold it back there with my hand,” joked one of her fans.

3. She Puts the Work In

One of Kate’s trainer’s Brad Siskind of Gunnar Peterson’s gym, revealed that Kate’s workouts are always this intense. "The whole hour is work," he told Women’s Health. She generally begins with a full-body workout composed of eight compound exercises, each working two muscle groups simultaneously—as can be evidenced in her latest workout video. Other moves include biceps curl as she squats, or situps with combination punches. Following the intense set she will complete 90 to 120 seconds of a cardio interval, like rowing or the VersaClimber, then repeat the entire circuit with heavier weights, added bands, or faster reps. Finally, following the 45 minute circuit workout, she’ll finish with a cardio interval using a rubber Inertia Wave, or one-leg pushes on a curved SkillMill treadmill. And, last but not least, she will do stretches.

4. Sometimes She Does “Two-a-Days”

"I wake up, eat something, and go straight to the gym," she told Women’s Health. "If I’m going to do cardio, I’ll do it later on in the day," she said.

5. Sometimes She Trampolines

1. She Golfs

Katie’s main form of fitness is golfing. “Golf date?” she captioned a post. Why should you consider picking up a club? A comprehensive review published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine found that golf's health benefits are extensive, including mind, body, and even lifespan. Benefits include improved longevity, decreased risk of developing heart disease or suffering a stroke, good mental health, and improved strength and balance.

2. She Wake Surfs

Katie recently started wake surfing, also called wake boarding. She captioned this post: “teach me how to wake surf.” According to the Australian government’s Better Health, surfing, which is similar to wake boarding minus the paddling, provides many health benefits including cardiovascular fitness, and leg and core strength. “Once you’re standing up on the board, strong legs and a strong core will keep you up,” they say.

3. She Jet Skis

Katie also enjoys jet skiing. “Be my travel buddy,” she captioned a photo of herself out in the water. According to Health Fitness Revolution, the average 150-pound rider will burn a surprising 238 calories during a half-hour ride. The sport is also great for cardiovascular endurance.

4. She Soaks in the Hot Tub

Katie loves soaking in hot water. “You’ll find me here,” she captioned a post. How can soaking in the hot tub, similar to baths do your body and mind good? It has been linked to better sleep and even found helpful to minimize anxiety and depression. One recent study even found that it may even boast cardiovascular benefits.

5. She Snow Boards

Katie also enjoys snow boarding. “Learned my lesson from last year,” she joked in this photo, wearing a swimsuit while on the slopes. According to the University of Rochester, snowboarding, like skiing, is a great cardiovascular workout. “Because they are also weight-bearing exercises, they strengthen your bones as they tone your muscles,” they say. “Cardiovascular or aerobic exercises also work to reduce your risk for chronic diseases, and lower blood pressure. They also help you maintain a healthy body weight. Through regular aerobic exercise like skiing and snowboarding, you lower your risk of developing conditions like diabetes and heart disease, having a stroke, and perhaps even getting cancer.”

6. She Works Out

Katie also relies on good old-fashioned exercise to keep her in shape. Physical activity is anything that gets your body moving. Each week adults need 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity and 2 days of muscle-strengthening activity, according to the current Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans.

One of Cuoco’s favorite ways to stay in shape is doing yoga. She tells Shape Magazine that she loves doing different types of yoga classes as often as she can. “Doing yoga five times a week has transformed my body. I love being toned and having muscle; it's so sexy and beautiful. And I owe it 100 percent to yoga. I go to a place called CorePower Yoga. One morning I'll take the Hot Power Fusion class, which is an amazing calorie burner. Or I'll take a Yoga Sculpt class, where we wear three-pound weights during yoga moves. The sculpt classes include 20 seconds of mountain climbing or jumping jacks between the poses, so I get cardio, too."

2. She Still Has Cheat Days

Cuoco tells Shape Magazine that she tries to eat healthy. However, she does still like to have a day that she indulges. "I have to have a cheat day. I know when I'm being good all week long that come Sunday, I'm going to lie by the pool, have a drink, and eat some pizza. Then I wake up on Monday morning and I'm all ready to start the week again. I'm just going to be in a bad mood all the time if there's no light at the end of the tunnel."

3. She Stays Hydrated

"It really consists of some bodyweight exercises and just fine-tuning and keeping her moving a little bit."

5. She Works Out Every Day

Sorensen tells E! News that Cuoco makes sure to get some type of workout every day, no matter how big or small. “It's just a matter of her just feeling good and waking up the next day like not being too sore and ready to hit it again," he said. “She gets 10,000 steps in a day. She always tries to do some sort of physical activity, whether it's with me, whether it's with yoga or riding horses."

1. She Listens to Music When She Exercises

Celebrities Visit Build - October 7, 2019Jason Mendez/Getty Images

Kate doesn’t workout regularly, but when she does, she stays pumped with tunes. “Um, what is this strange word ‘workout’ you speak of? I don’t really exercise that often (okay: more like never) but I am obsessed with music. I usually listen to a mix of hip hop and deep house mostly. Drake, Disclosure, Flume….I like to keep it pretty mellow,” she told Bravo.

2. She Is a Foodie

Kate loves herself some gourmet food. “I was lucky enough to go to Per Se a few months ago and that was unbelievable; refined defined. Thomas Keller is a genius. On an every day basis though, my first choice will always be sushi,” she told Bravo about her dream meal. When she was in Thailand she also indulged in the food. “I got Pad Thai yesterday and I think it was the first time since Thailand,” she told Decider, revealing that she ate a ton of it while there. “I think I’ll still wait another six months [to have it again].” She added: “I usually get chicken because I’m too lazy to go dog food shopping so I give some of the chicken to my dog.”

3. She Gets Deep Tissue Massages

Kate is all about a “good, deep tissue massage, although I don’t see it as that much of a splurge,” she told Bravo. “It’s more a medical necessity than a luxury. I carry all of my stress in my shoulders and if I don’t have it corrected after a while, even just sleeping can be a real pain in the neck. (awful pun, I know….couldn’t help myself).”

4. She Takes Me Time

Woman's Day Celebrates 17th Annual Red Dress Awards - ArrivalsBryan Bedder/Getty Images

When Kate needs a break she takes a break. “I felt the same way I do every season, like, what just happened, thank god it’s over, get me to a hotel. I stayed in Thailand for about a week and just chilled out. I know it was an expensive hotel, I had a private pool, I just needed seven days before I went back to the real world to decompress,” she told Decider.

5. She Drinks Espresso Spiked Martinis

Kate stays energized by adding a jolt to her alcoholic beverages. "Espresso martini in every country I visit," she wrote in an Instagram Story. "While past studies hinted that coffee might have a dark side, newer research suggests that it may actually have health benefits," says the Mayo Clinic. "Why the reversal? It's hard to look at just one aspect of diet and connect it to a health condition because so many other factors that could play a role. For example, early research on coffee didn't always take into account that heavy coffee drinkers also tended to use tobacco and be sedentary. When newer studies adjusted for such factors, they found a possible association between coffee and decreased mortality. Coffee may offer some protection against:

  • Parkinson's disease
  • Type 2 diabetes
  • Liver disease, including liver cancer
  • Heart attack and stroke."

Leonie Hanne is living her best life in Thailand – in her swimsuit. In a new social media post, the German model flaunts her fantastic figure in a $750 Missoni bathing suit while enjoying a boating day in the tropics. “She dreamed of a tropical adventure 🦋,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. “Stunning,” commented one of her followers. ”So beautiful,” added another. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Coffee

Leonie enjoys the perks of caffeine. In one of her posts from Thailand, she drinks a cup of coffee at the poolside. According to the Cleveland Clinic, drinking coffee in moderation has several benefits. “It acts on your brain to improve memory, mood, reaction times, and mental function,” they say, citing a study finding that caffeine can improve endurance and performance during exercise. It is also antioxidant-rich, can ward off diabetes, prevent neurologic disease, lower cancer risk, and ward off depression, they point out.

Pilates

Leonie does Pilates at the super exclusive London studio Pilates in the Clouds. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress, and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

At-Home Workouts

Leonie tries to get a workout in daily, preferably in the morning. I still try to get up early to maintain a sense of routine. I start every day with a quick at-home workout and a homemade acai bowl, before starting work on emails and content creation. I’ve been getting really into TikTok lately, it’s funny and keeps me feeling energised!” she told Arcadia.

Community

It takes a village, according to Leonie. “Community is key! The people you surround yourself with are more important than ever, as we are all trying to find ways to stay connected without being physically present. Speaking to people either on the phone or through social media can shift your mindset and motivation more than ever before,” she says.

Small, Healthy Habits

Leonie focuses on maintaining small, healthy habits. “Do something every day that brings you joy. Even if that means having something small to look forward to, like having your favourite snacks around the house or changing into an outfit that makes you feel good about yourself,” she says.

How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

She Doesn't Go Under the Knife

Sophie claims she hasn’t gone under the knife. “It’s your own body, you can do what you want to,” she told Grazia, weighing in on the show’s reputation for girls getting work done. “I wouldn’t have surgery myself; I don’t want it. I’ve got such a low pain tolerance as well; I’d be squirming around.”

She Gets Her Steps In

Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Sophie loves paddle boarding. The American Council on Exercise (ACE) agrees that paddle boarding is great for the core and cardio. Water sports can burn an average of 385 calories for a 140-pound male and 436 calories for a female of the same size, per a study conducted by Arizona State University.

She Skis

When Sophie hits the mountains, she throws on a pair of skis. “Ski club,” she captioned a photo. Research has linked downhill skiing to several health benefits. In addition to promoting physical fitness, it may decrease the risk of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Studies have also found that the more frequently a person skis, the prevalence of known hypercholesterolemia, systemic hypertension, diabetes, the frequency of mental stress, and the occurrence of memory deficits decline.

She Loves Group Fitness

“You’ve got to be body confident,” Sophie told Grazia. One of her favorite sweat methods? Group fitness. “A few gym classes can’t hurt,” she said.

She Goes Snorkeling

On her recent Maldives vacation, Sophie and Josh snorkeled in the crystal clear water. Surprisingly, putting on a snorkel and fins and swimming through the water is a great workout. In addition to being a great aerobic exercise and burning calories, other health benefits may include improved cardiovascular function, stress reduction, mood enhancement, and muscular toning.

Tammy Hembrow is a fitness influencer and expert. She has her own app, called Tammy Fit. Hembrow has a lot of challenges on her app. Recently, she advertised a challenge with a workout video on Instagram. Hembrow captioned the post, “We are 3 days into our first @tammyfitapp challenge of the year & I am more motivated than everrrrr. (Sign ups are still open if you haven’t joined yet - there’s still time to catch up!! - link in bio). Soooo happy seeing so many of my girlies (and guys) in this challenge doing it with me!! And I CANNOT wait to see everyone’s results at the end of the 8 weeks. We got thissss 💪🏼”

She Does Pulldowns

Hembrow is seen doing pulldowns in her Instagram video. Piedmont reports that pulldowns have a lot of benefits. “The lat pulldown is a fantastic exercise for strengthening the latissimus dorsi muscle, the broadest muscle in your back. This muscle promotes good posture and spinal stability. Form is crucial when performing a lat pulldown to prevent injury and reap the best results.”

She Lifts Weights

Tammy Hebrew is seen using dumbbells.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen doing a lot of exercises with weights in her Instagram video. ACE Fitness states that using weights to workout has a lot of benefits. “Strength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle’s appearance.”

She Tracks Her Meals

Hembrow likes to track her meals on her app. She talked about the benefits of this in the caption of this “What I Eat In A Day” Instagram video. “Make sure to take advantage of the calorie/macro tracking features in the @tammyfitapp during this challenge guys. It can be really helpful in reaching specific goals quicker. And it also can help educate you on your food choices when it comes to nutrition, ratios, hidden calories, overeating or under eating etc. honestly I’d recommend any beginner try it out just to get a good feel for how you’re fuelling your body!! I feel like when people think of ‘meal tracking’ it can be seen as something that seems restrictive or something only bodybuilders do. When in reality it can be such a helpful tool and you can learn things that will actually encourage long term habits 🫶🏼🫶🏼”

She Loves Bananas

Tammy Hebrew has a banana snack.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen enjoying bananas in her “What I Eat In A Day” Instagram video. The Cleveland Clinic states that bananas have a lot of benefits. “A single medium-sized banana offers about 32 mg of the mineral magnesium, which fulfills around 8% to 10% of your daily magnesium requirement. Magnesium is involved in many processes in your body, including: Blood pressure. Blood sugar levels. Building proteins. Maintaining bone. Muscle function. Nerve function.”

She Loves Cottage Cheese

Tammy Hebrew's snack the contains banana and cottage cheese.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen enjoying her bananas with cottage cheese in the previous Instagram video. Cottage cheese is very healthy. UCLA Health reports, “Cottage cheese’s protein content and low calories make it an ideal food for weight management. Research shows that whether you are trying to lose weight or reduce your risk of overweight or obesity, eating a high-protein diet can help you feel full and satisfied for longer.”
