Katharine McPhee is flaunting her incredible post-baby body north of the border! The singer and actress is currently vacationing in Canada, where she showed off her figure in a black swimsuit while enjoying the sand and snow at the Nimmo Bay Resort. She captioned the Instagram Reel, “canadian energy.” How does the Smash star maintain her fit physique? Read on to see 7 of Katharine McPhee’s top tips for staying in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. Exercise

McPhee is devoted to exercise. The star works out three or four times a week for hour-long workouts with trainer Simon Carter. "We’ll run and we’ll, like, in the middle of each intersection do, 20 push-ups or 20 jump squats, and then start running again, and go for four or five miles," the actress told Health, per Self, about their sessions.

2. Avoid the Scale

Katharine refuses to weigh herself, partly because she suffered from an eating disorder in her younger years. "I stopped weighing myself and doing calories a long time ago," she told Health.

3. Eat Clean

Katharine eats clean and healthy because it makes her feel good. “I love clean food; it makes me feel good,” she told Health. “But the idea that you can never eat a burger and French fries [without gaining] weight five days later? I just don’t believe that’s true.”

4. Indulge On Occasion

Katharine isn’t against the occasional cheat meal. "If there's somewhere special I wanna go - like for Mastro's butter cake or a pizza with some delicious red wine - I break every rule," she told Health. "I'm gonna have the appetizer, the entree, some of your entree, and dessert, just because I love food."

5. Eat As Plant-Based As Possible

After watching the documentary, What the Health, Katharine was inspired to eat green. She said, “it’s basically gearing everybody to be plant-based and vegan. I could never be vegan; I like milk and yogurt and cheese too much. But I’ve definitely moved more toward the vegetarian route.” Other plant-based food she loves? “Well, I love avocado toast. I know it’s super trendy but I love it for breakfast; it just feels so nurturing and wholesome and so good going into my stomach. I put a little bit of truffle oil over the avocado with salt and pepper on delicious whole wheat toast,” she told Health. “I also like big salads, like the ones at Sweetgreen. I love Sweetgreen.” Her favorite combo? “Kale, kale, kale, kale. I love kale. And then garbanzo beans, spicy broccoli, red onion, carrot, feta cheese, cucumbers, and then maybe something crunchy, like almonds. I like to eat a really hearty, full meal that’s rich in fiber with good fat, like an avocado, and proteins.”

6. Don’t Diet

Katharine avoids dieting. "I lost this baby weight without dieting. Zero. Diets are the worst and I've had zero pressure from anyone,” she said in a recent Instagram post. "I'll probably gain weight again at some point too. Who cares?"

7. Dance

Katharine loves blasting calories via a certain dancing workout. "More than just a fun workout, Zumba class is a safe space to connect with others, exercise my mental fitness & take my me-time to the next level," she wrote in an Instagram post for World Mental Health Day.

The Boys star Kristin Booth is showing off her gorgeous new LONDRE swimsuit while soaking up some Canadian sun. Booth, who plays Horse Tessa on the hit show, posted a selfie of herself wearing one of the company’s beautiful swimsuits and tagged them in the image, much to their delight. “Canadian girl summer in @londrebodywear And always sun protection by @sunbum in 50,” she captioned the post. “We love seeing you in your Londre. We'd be thrilled to share this beautiful image with our community,” the company responded. Booth has been acting since she was a young kid—here’s how she keeps a balance between work and down time.

1. Acting Dreams

Toronto,,Ontario,,Canada,-,September,8,,2019:,Kristin,Booth,AtShutterstock

Booth knew she wanted to act from an early age. “I always sort of loved performing for my family when I was really little,” she says. “When I was twelve, I auditioned for Huron Country Playhouse, which is a summer stock theater in Grand Bend, Ontario, and I was cast as an orphan in the musical Annie. It was that summer when I was walking into the first rehearsal and saw the adults there, and I don’t know why I’d never put two and two together before while watching TV, but it was like a light bulb went off for me, and I was like, 'Wait a second. You can actually do this for a living?' And that was it. And I was like, 'That’s what I wanna do.'”

2. Her Perfect Saturday

Booth loves to just relax on the weekends. “My perfect Saturday would mean slightly sleeping in—to like, 10 a.m. I’d get up and have an almond milk latte that I make here with my little Nespresso machine that I love,” she says. “Then my husband and I would get the dogs all leashed up and go for a walk. We’d come back and probably go out for brunch to Bonjour Brioche—it’s on Queen Street East. My husband and I both love pancakes so we’d probably end up having them with fresh squeezed orange juice or something like that. Maybe a side of bacon, too—gotta have some protein!”

3. Horror Movie Fan

Scared,Girls,Hiding,In,Blanket,While,Watching,Horrors,On,TvShutterstock

Booth is a big movie buff, enjoying both rom coms and scary flicks. “I have my favorites that I watch: The Princess Bride and Bridget Jones’s Diary,” she says. “Those are two of my go to feel-good movies. My best friend and I have a bit of a weird obsession with horror films, so generally when I’m at home she’ll come over and all three of us will sit around and watch really bad horror movies, like the remake of Nightmare on Elm Street. It’s so bad. It’s awful. But then there are some really great ones. We just watched the original—I think it’s Swedish—of Let the Right One In. I like to be scared—to sit for two or three hours on the sofa with my stomach in knots.”

4. Playing Ethel Kennedy

Los,Angeles,-,Jul,26:,Kristin,Booth,At,The,HallmarkShutterstock/Theo Wargo/Getty Images for RFK Human Right

Booth once played Ethel Kennedy on The Kennedys and took it seriously. “Well, you know, the first time around, it kind of haunted me a little bit–I’m not gonna lie,” she says. “And even almost more so the second time. You’re portraying someone who lived this life, who is a part of history, who is still alive, and you obviously want to do them justice and portray them as close to who they are or who they were at that time as possible. I pored over biographies and books about the Kennedys, videos and all sorts of research material in order to create this character who then became Ethel Kennedy.”

5. Bubble Baths

Booth sometimes enjoys a bath as part of a relaxing Saturday. “Sometimes I’ll take a bath before bed—I do enjoy a good bubble bath,” she says. “I like lavender essential oil in it to help me sleep. But usually it’s just us crawling into bed and passing out. I’m sort of religious about washing my face before I go to sleep. But I will admit that on more than one occasion on a Saturday, I will skip that. That’s why I have towelettes on my nightstand!”

1. She Listens to Music When She Exercises

Kate doesn’t workout regularly, but when she does, she stays pumped with tunes. “Um, what is this strange word ‘workout’ you speak of? I don’t really exercise that often (okay: more like never) but I am obsessed with music. I usually listen to a mix of hip hop and deep house mostly. Drake, Disclosure, Flume….I like to keep it pretty mellow,” she told Bravo.

2. She Is a Foodie

Kate loves herself some gourmet food. “I was lucky enough to go to Per Se a few months ago and that was unbelievable; refined defined. Thomas Keller is a genius. On an every day basis though, my first choice will always be sushi,” she told Bravo about her dream meal. When she was in Thailand she also indulged in the food. “I got Pad Thai yesterday and I think it was the first time since Thailand,” she told Decider, revealing that she ate a ton of it while there. “I think I’ll still wait another six months [to have it again].” She added: “I usually get chicken because I’m too lazy to go dog food shopping so I give some of the chicken to my dog.”

3. She Gets Deep Tissue Massages

Celebrities Visit SiriusXM - January 6, 2020Dia Dipasupil/Getty Images

Kate is all about a “good, deep tissue massage, although I don’t see it as that much of a splurge,” she told Bravo. “It’s more a medical necessity than a luxury. I carry all of my stress in my shoulders and if I don’t have it corrected after a while, even just sleeping can be a real pain in the neck. (awful pun, I know….couldn’t help myself).”

4. She Takes Me Time

Woman's Day Celebrates 17th Annual Red Dress Awards - ArrivalsBryan Bedder/Getty Images

When Kate needs a break she takes a break. “I felt the same way I do every season, like, what just happened, thank god it’s over, get me to a hotel. I stayed in Thailand for about a week and just chilled out. I know it was an expensive hotel, I had a private pool, I just needed seven days before I went back to the real world to decompress,” she told Decider.

5. She Drinks Espresso Spiked Martinis

Kate stays energized by adding a jolt to her alcoholic beverages. "Espresso martini in every country I visit," she wrote in an Instagram Story. "While past studies hinted that coffee might have a dark side, newer research suggests that it may actually have health benefits," says the Mayo Clinic. "Why the reversal? It's hard to look at just one aspect of diet and connect it to a health condition because so many other factors that could play a role. For example, early research on coffee didn't always take into account that heavy coffee drinkers also tended to use tobacco and be sedentary. When newer studies adjusted for such factors, they found a possible association between coffee and decreased mortality. Coffee may offer some protection against:

  • Parkinson's disease
  • Type 2 diabetes
  • Liver disease, including liver cancer
  • Heart attack and stroke."

According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Emsculpt NEO

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.

She’s Consistent

Last year, Culpo was preparing for her wedding. She told E! News that she made sure to be consistent with her wellness in order to prepare. “Really trying to dial in [on] what I eat, how I workout, the workouts that I do. Trying to get them in consistently because you only get married once and I want to feel my best. But this past season it was just hard being so far away from my normal routine and where I typically live."

She Keeps Her Skin Healthy While Traveling

Culpo has amazing skin, and she makes sure to take care of it, even while traveling. “I don't wear any makeup when traveling," she says to Travel + Leisure. "That's one rule because I do feel like you will have a higher chance of breaking out if you are wearing a full face of makeup. A few things I always have with me is some sort of a spray. I love Dr. Barbara Sturm or Caudalie or La Mer. I also absolutely love traveling with a makeup wipe, the Neutrogena wipes are great. Something to just take off the sweat you build up.”

She Keeps Her Skincare Simple

Culpo shared her skincare routines with Byrdie. She says that she keeps her morning and night routine simple. “I am always trying out new products, so what I gravitate toward is often changing. At night, I usually use an oil and a serum. Right now, I love the Clarins Double Serum. In the morning, I use a Vitamin C serum and an SPF, and, typically, I just rinse my skin with warm water instead of using a cleanser. It is something I swear by—it allows for the oils on my skin from sleeping to absorb naturally.”

She Uses Products With Vitamins

Culpo shared some of her favorite skincare products with Byrdie. She says that she uses ones that have vitamins in them. “I have noticed a huge difference in my skin with vitamin C and E. I love the Good Janes H2OMyGod Moisturizer—it's sort of an all-in-one moisturizer that has vitamin C and collagen peptides. As for vitamin E, I actually just purchase the oil from the drugstore. It is super cheap and great to put on any red marks I may get from an occasional breakout. The healing process is so much quicker when I am using Vitamin E oil.”

She Packs Healthy Snacks

Culpo makes sure to eat healthy. She shared some of the snacks she packs with her with Travel + Leisure. "I love the Kind bars. I love any sort of nuts, to be honest with you. They are a go-to snack for me. I would say Peroni Nastro Azzurro 0.0% and some almonds would be perfect! Also, electrolytes to stay hydrated or some sort of collagen beauty powder or something."

While it’s not “rocket science,” she does use the MyFitnessPal app to track her eating. “I’m the type of person who likes to eat what I want. The app can help anyone do that—you can still eat great food, you just eat less of it,” she added New Beauty.

Abigail is a fan of Pilates. “Group workout classes are so big right now, but I always get nervous around other people in settings like that. I have to go at my own pace without a bunch of distractions so, for me, Pilates with a one-on-one instructor works best. It’s not cheap, but then you also aren’t tempted to skip,” she said She added to Men’s Fitness via Muscle & Fitness that the workout “keeps you long and lean” — and the Mayo Clinic agrees. They say it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, relief from stress and back pain, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

“I love green juices and smoothies. Sometimes I’ll put some protein powder in the morning—I feel like the mix of vegetables, and vitamins and stuff that’s in them, really gives me a lot of energy in the morning. I love BBQ food—my ultimate cheat is a pulled pork sandwich, sweet potato fries, and macaroni and cheese from this great place in LA,” she told Men’s Fitness.

Strength Training

Ratchford also lifts weights. “Initially, I made the mistake that a lot of girls do and I was only doing cardio. I just really didn’t see too much change in my body. I’ve been listening to my girlfriends who are in great shape and they say you have to do weight training, you have to go in and do squats. That’s my new thing—I’ve been doing some resistance training, circuit training,” she told Men’s Fitness. The Mayo Clinic explains that strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

Develop strong bones

Manage your weight

Enhance your quality of life

Manage chronic conditions

Sharpen your thinking skills
