McPhee’s trainer Oscar Smith revealed some of her workout secrets to Life & Style. Smith says that they focus on one body part at a time during sessions. “For upper body, we would focus on a specific body part, then start off what I call ‘the Triangle,'” he says. “Some days with no weights would be 15 reps of assisted pull-ups, chin-ups, reverse grip pull-ups, close grip pull-ups, wide grip pull-ups, 50 dips, then 50 decline push-ups, 50 incline push-ups, 50 regular push-ups.

2. She’s Comfortable With Herself

After having her first child, McPhee’s perspective on her body changed. She opened up about this to People. "What I didn't expect was to have the baby and then be so at peace with my body," she said. "I had this, wow, like this huge appreciation of what my body had just done and given me that I wish that I'd given myself a little bit more of that grace through the pregnancy. I actually had this huge gift where I felt zero pressure to kind of get back to a certain standard. I was just like, 'Wow, this is such a moment in time to enjoy a new baby and give thanks to this incredible body that just did something so spectacular, like truly a miracle.' "

3. She Doesn’t Diet

McPhee tells Health that she doesn’t like to diet. "I can't do that, it's too restricting for me," she said. "Personally, juicing is not interesting enough for me; I like to, like, eat my food. I love salads, I love clean food; it makes me feel good. But the idea that you can never eat a burger and French fries (without gaining) weight five days later? I just don't believe that's true.”

4. She Works Out Her Abs

McPhee has amazing abs. She tells Health that she does a lot of core workouts. "I like a move on the bench where you bend. And the scissors are, like, crazy. It's the knees coming in and then out that works a different part of your lower abs. But it's really the number of reps that you're doing.”

5. She Takes Off Her Makeup

McPhee revealed some of her favorite skincare products to Glamour. She says that she always makes sure to remove her makeup. “My morning and night skin care routines tend to be the same. At night I am a big fan of Neutrogena wipes. I always have been. I also love the MAC wipes. I think they were the first to come out with those makeup remover wipes, and I've never had problems with breaking out with them. And there's just enough of a floral scent that it's pleasant.”

1. She Has Learned to Love Herself

“HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY ✨ Today is a day where we can celebrate us. I have so many women in my life who inspire me every day and I wanted to give a little something today that can hopefully inspire one of you. Loving our imperfections can be difficult, but when you learn to embrace them and realise that our imperfections don’t define us, they are just a part of us alongside everything else that creates you as a person. None of us are the same, and that’s a special thing. We are one of a kind 🤍 This picture shows me at my most vulnerable… but I’m learning to love myself, imperfections and all. And so should you,” she wrote once.

2. She Was Once “Unhealthily Skinny”

"I went from a size 10 to a six, and it’s the smallest I’ve ever been as a young adult. Because of my height, this made me look unhealthily skinny, of which I was (not eating barely anything, feeling ill all the time, tired, dizzy) and I remember looking at myself, I’d lost my boobs and my bum and those curves I once had and I missed them,” she wrote on Instagram. "The point of this [is], since coming out of Love Island, I found my love for food again and yes I’m getting back to my usual size."

3. She Likes a Nice Bath

“Drowning my sorrows in the bath because my Met Gala invite got lost 💔…,” she captioned one recent photo. Consider adding Epsom salt. “Pour about 300 grams (1.25 cups) of Epsom salt into a clean bathtub as it fills with hot water. (Avoid using Epsom salt in a tub with jets, a hot tub or a whirlpool bath unless the manufacturer says it’s OK.),” says the Cleveland Clinic.

4. This is Her Skin Icon

"At the moment the make-up I use does change fairly often, not necessarily my staples like concealer and foundation, but I do switch up the bronzers, blushers and mascara that I use,” she has said. Her icon? "Meghan Markle, her skin is absolutely flawless – her make-up always looks lovely as her make-up always looks lovely and natural."

5. She Has Had Acne

Pride Of Britain Awards 2021 - Red Carpet ArrivalsMike Marsland/WireImage

“I suffered from acne about a year and a half ago and then I started to work with a skin aesthetician, who helped me to find my skincare routine and helped me to start dealing with the breakouts. Now that my acne has gone, we are on more of a journey to find the right products; doing treatments like microneedling once a month to deal with the scarring. I am so happy with the outcome because the difference from what it was to now is just incredible. I genuinely used to think there was never going to be a time when I could get rid of the acne and I think when you are suffering you think it’s going to be with you forever. Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t an overnight process – it took me a year and a half to be acne free, but through a good skincare routine and using the right products it can be combated. My skin aesthetician advised me that the products you use to treat acne don’t start working for 4-6 months, so it took six months before I started to see a difference. The secret to good skin is also about good lifestyle, it’s all about looking after the inside to make your skin glow,” she told Hello.

Patsy Kensit was an “it” girl of the 1980s and 1990s, fronting the band Eighth Wonder and starring in beloved films like Lethal Weapon 2 and Angels & Insects, working steadily the whole time on television, as well (notably on Holby City, for example). She still performs regularly, but now this mother is also a health and wellness writer who just posted a swimsuit photo. “Missing the sunshine although it’s a beautiful day in London… 💛💛💛💛☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️,” she captioned it. So how does she stay so fit, mentally and physically? 1. She Advises Self-Care

“Give yourself the treats you love, and time to breathe wherever you can. If you're working, home educating and things are tough you need to care for yourself, to be able to help anyone else,” Kensit wrote about life during lockdown. And accept what you can’t change. “It's so hard not to be angry with the way things are and have been. But right now, it is what it is. Breathe and look to the future where you can, instead of living in fury right now.” She founded the Instagram community Conscious Plus with this dictum in mind: “Consciously connecting, communicating & celebrating what makes us amazing, at every age!” The following quotes are from her page.

2. Ask Yourself, “Is My Lifestyle Serving Me”

The Beauty Awards 2019Lia Toby/Getty Images

“THERE IS A REASON WE DONT TALK 'DIETS'...” Kensit captioned a post in January. “At this time of year, the messages around wellness and self esteem are overwhelming. On one side the billion dollar diet industry assuming that 'of course' your priorities are to drop pounds. The machine that is Instagram fitness has cranked up with ad after ad of bodies working up a sweat.

And the body positive community are pushing back - often rightly- with messages about health being more than scales, and attractiveness being more than thin. But sometimes that can come with pressure too - the pressure to accept a body that rightly or wrongly you're not comfortable in.

Firstly, we have every size on my team and I've been many sizes myself. We ALL have body insecurities and we ALL empathise with the desire to feel attractive and confusion about what that is.

My view is that ALL women are beautiful BUT everyone has a right to decide what healthy and well looks like for them. One woman's size 6 is another's 16 - and living a miserable life as either isn't worth it.

We will NEVER talk diets here but self esteem and joy matter. Ask yourself if your lifestyle is serving you. If not, change it however you can, with whatever tools you have available.”

3. She Says You’re Not "a Pain"

Marks & Spencer Launches Patsy Kensit X STUDIO10 CollectionMark Runnacles/Getty Images

“WE ARE NOT PAINS FOR...

Asking for a second opinion

Listening to our instincts

Expecting to be considered

Wanting to be heard

Feeling low

Needing reassurance

Feeling scared/sad/anything

Wanting educated

Interrupting

Changing plans

Not enjoying ANY experience

Having dietary needs

SO many of us feel like it's too much of us to ask for the above, that we're inconveniencing others. That we're a 'pain'.

We. Are. Not,” she wrote recently.

4. 'No Fear' is Her Mantra

Preciously Perfect By Patsy Kensit - Press LaunchShutterstock

Kensit recently shared a great quote from AbFab star Joanna Lumley: “"A lot of us are ruled by fear during our lives - afraid we'll get burgled, afraid a dog will bite us, afraid we'll get fat, afraid someone will leave us. Once you lose fear, life becomes sweeter, and that happens as you get older. I'm sure by the time I'm 80, I'll be able to do absolutely anything!” Kensit’s response: “LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!”

5. She’s An Advocate For Confident Menopause

London Celebrity Sightings - July 14, 2021Mark R. Milan/GC Images via Getty Images

Kensit recently shared the cover of a book called Perimenopause Power, by Maisie Hill. “THE MINDFUL MENOPAUSE...SHARING AGAIN,” she captioned it. “I devoured this the first time I read it so sharing again, because I'm reading it again!I believe that menopause is easier when we EMPOWER ourselves through it. Learning as much as we can allows us to advocate confidently for ourselves, make treatment choices that work for our bodies and make sense of the changes as they happen.”

“Women start perimenopause at different ages. You may notice signs of progression toward menopause, such as menstrual irregularity, sometime in your 40s. But some women notice changes as early as their mid-30s,” says the Mayo Clinic. Added Kensit: “@_maisiehill_ Peri Menopause power is a brilliant chance for women to do just that. It's accessible, clever and thorough - brilliant. Must read! Love, Patsy xx”

1. She’s Happy to Be Where She Is

Demi's approach to life? "It's about embracing and no longer looking for what's wrong and really being in acceptance of everything. Gravity is going in directions that I'm not so fond of. I can look in the mirror occasionally and say 'you're lying, I don't look like that.' but the reality is the comfort I feel in my skin is the greatest gift. I wouldn't trade it. I'm just happy to be where I am," she told InStyle.

2. She Knows Things Change

Celebration Of Women In Cinema Gala Hosted By The Red Sea Film Festival - The 78th Venice International Film FestivalDaniele Venturelli/Getty Images

“Things do change,” Demi told W Magazine not too long ago. “The biggest difference, I think, is that I’m not in nearly as good shape physically as I have been before, and I have skin going in a direction that I would prefer it not go. There are things that just come with getting older. But I think my big mantra for this year is about acceptance. I was reading this book that was written around 1919, if I am remembering correctly, and it was very of its day. It was discussing all the ‘female’ concerns. There were some horrific suggestions on how to take care of yourself, including putting some kind of acid on your skin. But there was one thing I took away, because I think it’s true—the author said not to frown because at a certain point it will stick. And what speaks to me here is that I do believe that when we hold upset, anger, hurt, pain or bitterness, it ages us and we wear it. That isn’t to say we are always going to feel happy. But it’s important not to hold on to things.”

3. She Was Once a Workout Obsessive

Harper's Bazaar Exhibtion At Musee Des Arts Decoratifs In ParisPascal Le Segretain/Getty Images

When getting ready for certain revealing scenes in movies, “I cut out carbs, I ran, and I biked, and I worked out on every machine imaginable. I didn’t feel like I could stop exercising,” she wrote in her book. “It was my job to fit into that unforgiving military uniform I’d be wearing in two months in A Few Good Men. Getting in shape for that movie launched the obsession with working out that would consume me over the next five years. I never dared let up.”

4. She’s Used the Mirror

Tom Ford AW20 Show - ArrivalsMike Coppola/FilmMagic

Now Demi is more likely to use the Mirror, the workout device that is an actual mirror on your wall, with built-in videos that play on it. "15 min at level 1 that’s doable … right? I am stalling!" Demi wrote once in a post. "This is going to be my next jam. Okay, here I go, wish me luck."

5. She Loves Andie Swimwear

"Demi was an early investor," Andie's founder and CEO, Melanie Travis, told InStyle. "We've always talked about what would make sense to do together, and then back in December of 2020 — in anticipation of a successful vaccine rollout and then what would hopefully be a great summer of friends and family, being able to travel, and get together again, across the United States — we felt like this could be the perfect summer to do a campaign together."

For Hewitt, fitness is all about variety. “I try to switch it up a bit,” she told OK! I’ve been doing pilates, I’ve been doing yoga, I’ve done just plain old walking. I wear 10 pound weights on my ankles while I’m working just so that as I’m moving during the day I’m constantly building muscle. It’s not great for your back but I’m doing it anyway. I do a booty workout thing that I just did for Shape, which was really fun. And I do Zumba. I have DVDs and I dance around like a crazy person in my house.”

In addition to her impressive acting ability, the star is a total bombshell and has one of the fittest figures in Hollywood. Here are the top 5 habits that help her stay fit at 27.

Water Skiing

Sydney Sweeney arrives to "The Road to the Golden Globes Party"

Sydney has been water skiing since she was a toddler. “The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what’s called a U-board to learn how to ski,” she told Women’s Health. “I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma’s or my cousin’s house, I’d wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Morning Workouts

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

One of the ways she treats her anxiety is by spending time outdoors with her dog, Tank. She takes him on walks or hikes. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

Strength Training

Mariana relies on old-school strength training to keep her body toned. “Training till failure instead of reps + taking my ab routine up a notch by incorporating weighted exercises,” she wrote about one of her workout tactics. “I can feel my muscles being challenged and am in tune with my movements.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Other healthy habits? “Prioritizing digestion,” she writes in the same post. “Making sure I get enough fiber & starting off every morning with a juice cleanse. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”

Hiking

Mariana enjoys hiking. “Elevation therapy,” she captioned a post from one of her fitness adventures. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of some respiratory issues

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Emsculpt NEO

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.
