To prepare for the big shoot, she “didn't do an entire overhaul of my lifestyle, but rather focused on things that were already important to me! I ate a balanced diet, worked out, and prioritized my mental health and routine!” she told E! News. “When it came to my diet, I didn't want to restrict myself from indulging in foods and my normal diet because I wanted to focus on the habits rather than cutting off ‘bad foods’ cold turkey. I ended up giving myself a ‘kitchen curfew’ of 8:00 PM, so that my body could digest dinner before bed, making it easier to get a better night's rest and to wake up more energized!”

Slow and steady wins the race, according to Katie. “Every athlete starts somewhere. You don't have to jump right into an intense workout routine on your first day,” she told E! News. “Don't expect to lose 20 pounds in a week or run a marathon in a month. Set small, achievable goals that you can work towards over time. For example, aim to walk for 30 minutes a day, or to do 10 push-ups without stopping. Celebrate your successes along the way, no matter how small they may seem.”

6. She Suggests Getting a Workout Buddy

In a video she made with her daughter Teddy, in which they discussed workouts, Kelly said: “I've been studying, practicing yoga for a long, long time. And the great thing about yoga, even just the little moves that I incorporate in my workout every day, they really help with balance. And we're always talking about balance in our life and that's really what wellness is all about, is that creating that balance, not just with food, not just the emotional balance, but your physical balance. Like if you feel good and you're treating your body well, then you will have this balance that we're talking about.”

“So I've been doing a lot of walking,” Kelly said. “My oldest daughter and I have been walking all over Palm Beach and,” as a realtor, “I've been seeing the most beautiful houses. And it's been really interesting too, when you're walking, you're really in the trenches and it's incredible how each different community has such a different landscape. So it's been fascinating to see the West Palm Beach area by foot. That's been really, really great.”

“I jog like 25, 30 minutes a day. And the reason I started doing that was when I was a kid, when I was a swimmer, I needed to balance off my swimming.” How does that balancing work? “Because your body's using different muscles. And so when I would get into the water, I was faster and yeah, I used to mow the lawn before, like if I had a big meet, I would go for a run, I'd mow the lawn….Great core workout.” She adds: “What's great is that I really started running more when I was a model living in all these different countries all over the world. And it was just a really easy way for me to understand where I was, where I was going during the day. And just to get, again, like a different view of each city's landscape. And so I learned so much about all these cities and I was never intimidated by them because I would run them in the morning… I always say, you know, just put your sneakers on it. Doesn't cost a thing and you know what you get out of it.”

4. She is Thankful

“It's good to wake up that way in the morning if you stretch. That's one reason why I like to exercise in the morning. So I just get that. I mean, it makes me feel really, really good. St the end of my workout, I always do a headstand. And I used to do, when I was doing my headstand, I used to say what I was thankful for and what I was, and then I, and then I switched and then I was like, what I'm grateful for? And then I realized, I'm so incredibly lucky. I have most beautiful family. We're healthy. We’re well. I am so fortunate to be able to raise them on my own. And so now I just say like, who I'm thankful for. So the people in my life, when I pick three people a day.”

Who is she thankful for? It “depends on what person taught me a lesson or brought something new into my life or whatever it is. It's just like, I think it's just a nice gesture to put that out there. 1. She Doesn’t Take Things Too Seriously

Larson opened up about her stint on The Bachelor on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast. She says that she didn’t take the show super seriously, and just enjoyed herself. "I feel like a lot of the girls [on the show] were careful about what they said or [did]," she explained. "They wanted to present themselves well and like, yeah, I just wanted to have fun. It's a show. I wasn't taking it seriously. 'Cause, I mean, that's what it was."

2. She Sticks Up For Herself

Larson was subjected to a lot of criticism because of her time on The Bachelor. Unfortunately, that included some body-shaming. However, Larson made sure to defend herself. When her season’s lead, Matt James’ friends commented on her body, she immediately responded. Larson posted a photo on Instagram and captioned it, “Tell me again, how my body doesn’t look good?”

3. She Got Lasik

Larson revealed on Instagram that she received Lasik surgery. However, this wasn’t just to fix her eyes, but to help with her anxiety. She captioned her post, “Feeling ready for anything after my lasik!!!!! On cloud 9!!! Holy sheeet I can seee!!!! Thank you to Doctor Lessner and your entire staff. @havelasik I have severe anxiety and felt so comfortable trusting you to take care of my vision. 4. She Goes To The Beach

The Bachelor in Paradise home is a comfortable place for Larson. She spends a lot of time at the beach. Her Instagram is full of photos of herself by the water. Larson shared this adorable photo of her dog playing in the sand. On her Not Skinny But Not Fat interview, Larson revealed that she is working on being more positive. Ireland is very charitable. She has founded the Kathy Ireland Recovery Center, which helps people struggling with substance abuse. Ireland has also worked with her good friend, Elizabeth Taylor’s charity, The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation as an ambassador. Ireland also works with several cancer foundations.

In a 2015 interview with Parade, Ireland opened up about her wellness routine. She says that when it comes to exercise, she likes to do things with her family. “I love exercise when it comes from our family activities,” she says. Ireland is all about keeping her heart healthy. She tells Parade, “Cardio training is critical. Heart disease remains the number one killer in America. After menopause, heart attacks between men and women equalize. Congestive heart failure is tragically too common for seniors. Our hearts can be helped by activity, healthy eating, stress reduction and the most important thing of all…LOVE!”

5. She Spends Her Time Wisely

Ireland makes sure to spend her time wisely. She tells Parade, “We all get the same 24 hours every day. The question is, how do we wish to spend our precious time? She Lifts Weights

In her Instagram post, Speegle is seen lifting weights. According to ACE Fitness, doing this has a lot of benefits. “Using heavy weights increases intramuscular coordination, the number of type II motor units and the amount of muscle fibers engaged within a specific muscle. Have you ever felt your muscles shaking while lifting heavy weights? This is because you are recruiting and activating the larger type II muscle fibers, which are only stimulated to work when a muscle is challenged with heavy resistance or working to fatigue.”

Speegle likes to golf to keep herself in shape. She shared a video of herself on the course in this Instagram post. On a regular 18-hole course, most players will walk between four and five miles, burning up to 2,000 calories.”

She's Into Jumping Rope

Speegle shared this video on Instagram of herself competing in Crossfit events. In it, she is seen jumping rope. She Does Cold Plunges

Speegle makes sure to recover. One thing she likes to do is cold plunges. Speegle shared this video of herself jumping into a tub. According to The Mayo Clinic, these have a lot of benefits. “Research on cold-water immersion has found evidence that it helps reduce the degree of exercise-induced muscle damage that can occur after physically challenging activities. Less damage leads to less inflammation, which in turn reduces soreness and helps restore physical performance the next day. These benefits may be the result of rapid constriction of the blood vessels due to the cold water. Last year, Malik gave fans a look at her workout routine in an Instagram video, where she powered through hanging crunches, lunges, and weightlifting sessions. She captioned the post, “Got some major work to do before my next session,” proving that even elite athletes are always striving to improve. She Lifts Weights

Plus, you don’t need any fancy equipment to do a pull-up. Tree branches, scaffolding, and even door frames are all places people can do pull-ups.”

Golf is obviously one of the ways that Malik keeps herself in shape. Better Health says that the sport has a lot of benefits. “Golf can be good for your health and your heart. Walking an average course for a round of golf can be between five to seven kilometres. If you walk 18 holes three to five times a week, you’ll get an optimal amount of endurance exercise for your heart. If you pull your clubs or carry them, you’ll burn even more calories each round and benefit even more.”
