She Loves Red Wine…But Gave It Up for Health
Recently, Kayla amped up her devotion to health, giving up one of her vices. "Only reason I'm working out so hard is because @WWEgames is giving the world unrealistic expectations. I haven't had red wine in 3 months, dammit!" she captioned a post. "Red wine, in moderation, has long been thought of as heart healthy," says the Mayo Clinic. "The alcohol and certain substances in red wine called antioxidants may help prevent coronary artery disease, the condition that leads to heart attacks."
She Drinks Coffee
Kayla also enjoys the perks of coffee. Science continues to prove that drinking coffee is great for your health. In fact, a new 2022 study published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology found that drinking two to three cups a day of most types of coffee – especially a mild to moderate intake of ground, instant, and decaffeinated coffee – may protect you from cardiovascular disease and an early death.
She Hikes
One way that Kayla stays in shape? Hiking. Here she is in Los Angeles by the Hollywood sign. "Another asshat has found their way to Hollywood," she captioned the post. "Hiking is one of the best ways to get exercise. No matter what type of trail you find yourself on, hiking is a great whole-body workout—from head to toe and everything in between," says the National Parks Service. Some of the physical benefits include building stronger muscles and bones, improving your sense of balance, improving your heart health, and decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems. It also offers many mental health benefits, according to a Stanford University study.
She Hydrates
Kayla prioritizes hydration, especially when she is exercising a lot. According to the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine men should drink about 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day and women about 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids.
She Works Out
Kayla also spends a lot of time in the gym. "Back when @torriewilson kicked my butt at the gym 💪🏽💪🏽 Lets do it again, mk," she captioned a post. Physical activity is anything that gets your body moving. Each week adults need 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity and 2 days of muscle-strengthening activity, according to the current Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans.
