And the great thing about yoga, even just the little moves that I incorporate in my workout every day, they really help with balance. “I jog like 25, 30 minutes a day. And the reason I started doing that was when I was a kid, when I was a swimmer, I needed to balance off my swimming.” How does that balancing work? “Because your body's using different muscles. And so when I would get into the water, I was faster and yeah, I used to mow the lawn before, like if I had a big meet, I would go for a run, I'd mow the lawn….Great core workout.” She adds: “What's great is that I really started running more when I was a model living in all these different countries all over the world. And it was just a really easy way for me to understand where I was, where I was going during the day. And just to get, again, like a different view of each city's landscape. And so I learned so much about all these cities and I was never intimidated by them because I would run them in the morning… I always say, you know, just put your sneakers on it. Doesn't cost a thing and you know what you get out of it.”

“It's good to wake up that way in the morning if you stretch. That's one reason why I like to exercise in the morning. So I just get that. I mean, it makes me feel really, really good. St the end of my workout, I always do a headstand. And I used to do, when I was doing my headstand, I used to say what I was thankful for and what I was, and then I, and then I switched and then I was like, what I'm grateful for? And then I realized, I'm so incredibly lucky. I have most beautiful family. We're healthy. We’re well. I am so fortunate to be able to raise them on my own. Beckinsale explained herself in this Instagram post. “I was asked multiple times in a recent interview if knew my IQ. I didn’t answer the question the first few times, but I did tell the truth that my mum had had me tested when I was young,and that it was high. I didn’t remember the number,and after being pressed several times to call my mother and ask her, I did. Here’s the dilemma: Tell the truth? Refuse to answer the question? Lie? Pretend it was lower? I told the truth and some journalists have been triggered by this. Are we really jumping on women for answering a question truthfully about their intelligence or education? Are we really still requiring women to dumb themselves down in order not to offend?”

"I think obviously some of it is a genetic thing, although you can mess that up. I didn't see sun for the first several decades of my life, and that's probably been a big help. A great deal of it was geography [growing up in England], but the otwas on the very rare occasions when we would go on a family vacation somewhere hot, I was paranoid that I would get freckles in a mustache formation on my face. "Which is really annoying because I could get a hotel room and it'll have cockroaches and go, 'Okay, fine,' But if [the room] doesn't have a bathtub, I'll be like, 'Sorry, can I move?' I really need to have that every day, no matter what. Even when it's Oscar night and you're getting home at seven in the morning once you've been to 15 parties. I still have to go through the whole bath thing."

In the interview, she revealed that she was taking supplements to help her skin stay healthy and keep up on her diet. “I’ve really just been focusing on being healthy from the inside out, because I really think that that’s the future of beauty products. Sydney has been water skiing since she was a toddler. “The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what’s called a U-board to learn how to ski,” she told Women’s Health. “I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma’s or my cousin’s house, I’d wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

Mariana relies on old-school strength training to keep her body toned. “Training till failure instead of reps + taking my ab routine up a notch by incorporating weighted exercises,” she wrote about one of her workout tactics. “I can feel my muscles being challenged and am in tune with my movements.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently.
