To Kelly, this is just how she's always eaten. "I eat very healthy all year round," says Kelly. "Cooking healthy, nutritious and delicious meals is one of my biggest passions so eating 'healthy' for me isn't 'eating healthy', it's just eating." Growing up, she had an incredible influence. "I've never actually known anything other than nutritious foods. I've grown up with a mother who is a doctor, dentist and cancer researcher who also happens to be an amazing cook," she says. "While I was growing up she always made me and my brothers healthy meals similar to what I eat today."

She will do a few things to prep for the show, after all her body is on full display during those specific shoots. She will generally cut out a lot of sodium from her diet and start making her morning tonics which involves mixing "cold water mixed with 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar, juice of 1 lemon, cayenne and cinnamon," she says, and have that before her workouts.

At times, she'll limit sugar and cut back even more than normal. "Four weeks before the show I like to kick it in high gear," explains Kelly, referring to the Victoria's Secret Fashion show. "I try to stay away from all kinds of sugars except for the sugars I get from the berries in my breakfast and coconut sugar from the occasional raw vegan chocolate bar that I eat."

She really enjoys juicing, and uses that for a burst of energy throughout the day with a little fruit. "I'll have my daily green juice as well with some fresh berries for breakfast," Kelly said. After fueling up with healthy juices, she'll go out for "a 25 km power walk followed by lunch."

She Loves Lean Protein and Veggies

"My lunch and dinner meals before the show include lots of vegetables and lean protein such as shrimps, scallops, egg whites, turkey breast and white fish," Kelly explains. "Dinner might be raw vegan Pad Thai. I make a great oil free cauliflower stir fry as well." The plant-based diet swaps have really been popular with the stars and have a lot of health benefits according to the Mayo Clinic.
