Kelsea Ballerini is embracing the changes in her life. The country star, who recently announced her split from husband Morgan Evans, shows off her fabulous figure in a swimsuit via her latest social media post. “But if one thing’s the same, it’s that i’m subject to change,” she captioned the Instagram post. How does she stay so fit? 1. She Exercises

Fitness is a big part of Kelsea’s stay-fit approach. “I have a trainer when I’m home in Nashville. Her name is Erin Oprea and she also trains Carrie Underwood and a bunch of other people. We do a lot of strength training and then when I’m on the road, we do circuits — sometimes with my band — or we’ll go to a class that’s close by, like if there’s a Soul Cycle we’ll go offsite to do that, which is really fun,” she told The Cut.

2. She Prioritizes Wellness

15th Annual Academy of Country Music Honors - BackstageJohn Shearer/Getty Images

Kelsea defines wellness as “Taking care of your health, body, and mind,” she told The Cut. “Ever since I started traveling a lot, I learned that if I don’t take care of my body, then I’m not going to be my best on tour or in the studio. When I take care of myself, I’m just better: I’m better as an artist and a person.”

3. She Follows the 80/20 Diet Approach

Kelsea is one of the many stars who swear by the 80/20 approach. “I try to eat really healthy 80 percent of the time, and then the other 20 percent of the time I’m eating cookies, pizza, and wine,” she told The Cut. Her cheat meals? “Chicken nuggets from Chick-fil-A or cheddar-jack grilled cheeses. Those are my two guilty pleasures.”

4. She Does What Works for Her

Kelsea maintains that people should approach health and fitness on a case-by-base basis. “You have to find what works for you and not compare your health or your workouts or your eating patterns to anyone else’s, because everyone is different and everyone’s bodies are different. Learn what works for you, and be happy with that,” she told The Cut.

5. She Recently Took a Break From the Gym

Kelsea recently took a hiatus from the gym. “As someone that's really struggled with body image my whole life, I really have to be checked in to, 'Am I doing this for the right reasons?' And I felt like by the end of that tour, I was starting to detach from the correct reasons for working out," she told Women’s Health. “I'll definitely start introducing cardio and strength training again so I can perform well, but I’ve been in a 'Season of Rest' before tuning up again.”

6. She Counts Her Steps

Kelsea told Women’s Health that she is all about the "really long, slow walks." Her goal is to hit 10,000 steps per day. “Just to get fresh air and get sunshine and move my body, but not move my body in a way that I'm feeling like I'm needing [to see] some results."

7. She Dances

Kelsea did “all kinds of dance” growing up, but recently started taking ballet classes a few times a week. “I started taking ballet again. I danced for 10 years when I was younger, and quit when I was 14. But I loved it so much. And then my path really shifted to music,” she explained. “I'm just trying to see what my body remembers and then and then relearn the art of it, because it's so beautiful," she says. "It's the little micro muscles in your ankles and in your inner thighs, and the (idea) that there's a string pulling you directly up to the ceiling while your toes are pushing down into the ground."

Kelsea Ballerini Welcomes 2025 with Growth and Gratitude

Kelsea Ballerini is welcoming the new year – in her swimsuit and workout gear. In a new social media post, showing off her gorgeous body in a variety of bathing suits and exercise clothes, the country singer reflects on 2024 and gets real about her struggles. “i spent majority of this year wildly uncomfortable. part of it intentional, knowing real growth and creativity (maybe even freedom) comes from pushing myself out of my comfort zone. i took the most time off the road that i have in 10 years, and had to rewire my brain to not operate from a place of scarcity from that. then sat in the space to try new things, then actually made the jump and did them. shaking in my boots then learning im more capable than i give myself credit for. and checking a few things off the bucket list along the way,” she writes, sharing a few thing she was “uncomfortable” about and how she found a “deeper gratitude for friendships and therapy. and good skincare. and sleep.” She continues: “uncomfortable in challenging myself to chill with the death grip on fear and settle into a new pace and level of steady love. not dashing during dust storms and enjoying the view even more when it settles. taking a magnifying glass to past patterns, and valuing, even protecting its place in my life. uncomfortable in the juggle of wanting more and wanting less, being the girl on stage and a dog mom, some days feeling new still and others spent precautionary plotting when the glitter won’t be as glittery. so i guess my goal for the year ahead is to try to find some comfort? in the loud and quiet, public and private moments. to still push and seek and want, but find comfort in being uncomfortable. don’t get me wrong, i love a little chaos. i just wonder how it pairs with a little more peace.” How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Protein and Salt

Kelsea also learned she wasn’t getting enough salt and protein in her diet. “I didn’t realize that you had to have salt to absorb water,” she said, revealing that she drinks electrolytes and water in the morning. She also eats more protein. “Chomps, cottage cheese, a good steak—that’s my trifecta right now,” she says. For breakfast she usually has a couple of scrambled eggs with chimichurri on top, a side of cottage cheese, and blueberries. For lunch, she makes her version of a turkey sandwich. “I do layers of turkey and cheese, with sprouts and tomato,” she says. “On one side, I put a little avocado. On the other, aioli.” Dinner might be salmon with zucchini or a skirt steak with asparagus.

A Gentler Approach to Fitness

Kelsea has shifted her approach to fitness. She recently explained to Women’s Health that she used to work out with a high-profile trainer, who “trained a lot of the really hot country girls,” doing four or five strength-training sessions a week. But after five years, she needed something different. “It almost felt like I was punishing myself to become what I thought I was supposed to be, visually, in my industry,” she said.

SoulCycle

She took a little break and then added gentle exercise into her life. One of the workout she did was SoulCycle, which she still attends from time to time. The Cleveland Clinic explains that biking, a low-impact aerobic exercise, is great for building muscle, improving strength and flexibility, and improving balance. It can also boost mental health and help other health conditions, including arthritis.

Lagree Method

However, it was the Lagree Method—a high-intensity, low-impact workout that incorporates a Megaformer – that she fell in love with and does three to four times a a week. “I do it as much as I can,” she said. “I love how it makes me feel doing it—I feel strong. Having a good relationship with how I’m moving my body has changed everything for me.” She adds that it also gave her a booty. “I’m proud of that ass!”

Walking

She also walks her dogs, including a nine-year-old labradoodle named Dibs, “the love of my life,” she says. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer in terms of exercise, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day led to a reduced risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

1. She Battles Anxiety

Kelsea discussed her mental health with Reese Witherspoon in a video discussing her poetry book. “I have anxiety. A lot of people do. We live in a very difficult time,” Ballerini confessed. “It’s something I talk about a lot: mental health and being able to feel safe.”

2. She Goes to Therapy

“I have been in therapy in and out my whole life,” Ballerini revealed to Reese. “It’s interesting, though, because when I was younger it was stuff that I was always made to do. It was all kind of forced upon me. So, I always had this stigma around it like, ‘this feels taboo. This feels like something other people want me to do.’ It wasn’t until the last few years that it was my decision that I was like, ‘I can be a healthier person.’”

3. She Strives to Be Healthy, Not Skinny

“I think for me, I’ve had to redefine I don’t want to be skinny, I want to be healthy,” Ballerini added in the interview “I want to be able to nourish myself and take care of myself, and that doesn’t just mean my body. It means my mind, it means my soul, it means my creativity. All of that. Nourishing those things makes me feel healthy. And when I feel healthy I’m a better wife, and daughter, and friend, and writer, and all the things that I actually care about way more than how I look.”

4. She Took a Break From Exercise

In 2022, Kelsea took a “season of rest” from her workout routine.

5. She Takes “Long, Slow Walks”

During her Season of Rest, Kelsea focused on doing “a lot of things to kind of reconnect with my inner child.” For example, she took really long, slow walks," and aimed for 10,000 steps per day. “Just to get fresh air and get sunshine and move my body, but not move my body in a way that I'm feeling like I'm needing [to see] some results."

6. She Dances

Kelsea did “all kinds of dance” growing up, but recently returned to classical dance. “I started taking ballet again. I danced for 10 years when I was younger, and quit when I was 14. But I loved it so much. And then my path really shifted to music,” she told Women’s Health. “I'm just trying to see what my body remembers and then and then relearn the art of it, because it's so beautiful. Ballerini tells The Cut that she loves to listen to music in order to get herself through a workout or gym session. She says that her go-to workout songs are anything fast with motivational lyrics. “I usually listen to rap or EDM or anything that makes me want to actually push myself. I love anything Drake; I like Kendrick [Lamar] a lot. As for EDM, I like Zedd and Chainsmokers; anything with a beat drop.”

3. She Believes in Moderation

Ballerini says that she’s all about moderation when it comes to her diet. She tells The Cut that she lives by the popular “80/20 Rule” when it comes to food. “I try to eat really healthy 80 percent of the time, and then the other 20 percent of the time I’m eating cookies, pizza, and wine. I’m a red wine person.”

4. She Knows What Works For Her

Ballerini tells The Cut that she doesn’t listen to other people’s workout and wellness tips. She says that she knows what works best for her and sticks with it. “You have to find what works for you and not compare your health or your workouts or your eating patterns to anyone else’s, because everyone is different and everyone’s bodies are different. Learn what works for you, and be happy with that.”

5. She’s All About Endurance

Ballerini tells Shape that she does a lot of endurance based workouts, like running. She says that she does these types of exercises because they are the most helpful to her in her daily life. "I love to move around on stage. I love to be animated and run around. So being able to sing and breathe at same time, you need endurance. I work out on tour, off tour, and to get ready to tour. I recently took up running and cycling for endurance. I want to break a sweat every day."

Kaitlyn Bristowe is pontificating about life in her swimsuit. The Bachelorette alum shows off her incredible figure in a bathing suit via one of her latest social media posts, getting deep about life. “A few thoughts from the last 10 days,” she started the caption, adding a few of her beliefs like “Red wine and noodles forever,” “True Self care is how you get your power back,” and “Aging is not scary, the alternative is.” How does she stay so fit? 1. She Dances

Kaitlyn, who competed on Dancing with the Stars, has been burning calories by cutting a rug since she was a kid. “I have always been a very healthy person. I started dancing when I was three years old, and was dancing at least six times a week until I was about 19. Then I moved to Vancouver where I was cheerleading and dancing a few times a week,” she told Elle Canada.

2. She Spins

David's Bridal x Daniel Diamond 2022 NashBlast Hosted By Kaitlyn BristoweJason Kempin/Getty Images

It wasn’t until Kaitlyn moved to Germany when she was 26 and realized that she “needed fitness” in her life that she started working out. “I wasn’t dancing anymore. I had never stepped foot in a gym to lift weights, so that was very intimidating,” she told Elle. “When I moved back to Vancouver that’s when I got my certificate to teach spin, so I started doing that before the show. For me, it wasn’t really about losing weight or anything like that, I was pretty happy in my own skin. I just loved the feeling of getting stronger.”

3. She Works Out Wherever She Is

Celebrity Sightings In Los Angeles - September 8, 2020APEX/MEGA/GC Images via Getty Images

Even when she is traveling, Kaitlyn prioritizes fitness. “I do try to workout wherever I go. If I am just there for a couple days, I pack one cute outfit and then all of my Reebok clothes so that I am ready to workout when I can. At the airport I make sure I am not taking the tram to each gate and I will walk. I try and be very cautious of making small decisions and small goals for myself to keep me active,” she told Elle.

4. She Got Super Strong for DWTS

To get ready for Dancing with the Stars, Kaitlyn majorly revamped her approach to fitness. "I’ve been working so hard on my mental and physical health over the last 14 weeks," she captioned an Instagram photo documenting her progress over 14 weeks. "Reading, meditating, resting, working out, lifting heavy, Pilates, boxing, going to physical therapy for mobility and strength, getting sports massages, dry needling,” she said about her routine.

5. She Indulges

"Anything I do in life, I always want to work hard, play hard and so I'm still drinking my wine, I'm still eating my McDonald's on Sundays, but I am working hard through the week," Kaitlyn told E News. “I always eat pretty healthy. I worked with this girl named Massy Fit. To be honest, I've been just eating way more than I'm used to. So, definitely more carbs, more protein, which is hard for me because I'm a pescatarian. Sundays are my day I just go like headfirst to McDonald's.”

Sydney has been water skiing since she was a toddler. “The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what’s called a U-board to learn how to ski,” she told Women’s Health. “I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma’s or my cousin’s house, I’d wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

One of the ways she treats her anxiety is by spending time outdoors with her dog, Tank. She takes him on walks or hikes. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

Strength Training

Mariana relies on old-school strength training to keep her body toned. “Training till failure instead of reps + taking my ab routine up a notch by incorporating weighted exercises,” she wrote about one of her workout tactics. “I can feel my muscles being challenged and am in tune with my movements.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Other healthy habits? “Prioritizing digestion,” she writes in the same post. “Making sure I get enough fiber & starting off every morning with a juice cleanse. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”

Hiking

Mariana enjoys hiking. “Elevation therapy,” she captioned a post from one of her fitness adventures. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of some respiratory issues

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Emsculpt NEO

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.
