She Dances
One way that Kelsey has always stayed in shape is by dancing. "Get comfortable, being uncomfortable!" she captioned a post, motivating her followers to step outside their comfort zone. "I can remember my very first dance audition for Busch Gardens. I had NO idea what I was doing. They called moves I've never heard of before and I was SO uncomfortable. My number was called to perform the audition routine and I put the biggest smile on my face and repeated to myself 'fake it 'till you make it!' A few weeks later I was cast in my first professional performance role as a freestyle dancer… BUT WAIT, I hate freestyle. I don't even dance at parties – I get shy and uncomfortable. And so I had to push myself WAYYY outside my comfort zone and repeat to myself 'fake it 'till you make it!' I learned so much from that experience and grew to find this strange adrenaline rush in being uncomfortable. Since then I've continued challenging this "uncomfortable feeling" seeing how far it could take me, when I stumbled upon something else – CONFIDENCE! Don't be scared of being uncomfortable, embrace it! You are capable of so much! Believe in YOU!"
She Prioritizes Hydration
As an athlete, Kelsey understands the importation of drinking enough water. "@simonewilliams.xo trying her best to keep me hydrated on show days," she captioned an adorable Instagram video promoting hydration. According to the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine men should drink about 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day and women about 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids.
She Hikes
Kelsey also enjoys hiking. "Convinced @rhornack to be a little devilish with me," she captioned a post from one of her hikes at Devils Bridge Trail in Sedona, Arizona. "Hiking is one of the best ways to get exercise. No matter what type of trail you find yourself on, hiking is a great whole-body workout—from head to toe and everything in between," says the National Parks Service.
She Does Standup Paddle Boarding
Kelsey also enjoys standup paddle boarding. She recently visited Lake Powell in Arizona, getting some exercise while out in nature by doing a headstand on her board. "SUP?! (get it?!) " she captioned the impressive post. The American Council on Exercise (ACE) explains that paddle boarding is great for the core and also a great form of cardio. The water sport can burn an average of 385 calories for a 140 pound male and 436 for a female the same size, per a study conducted by Arizona State University.
She Takes Time for Self-Care
Kelsey is all about taking much needed breaks and indulging in self-care. "Lately I have been so stressed out and for no real reason. Nothing in my lifestyle or schedule dramatically changed, but I felt drained and overwhelmed constantly. This week I decided it was time to focus on ME and reset," she captioned a post, revealing that she allowed herself to be treated to a massage, facial, and pedicure. "We hear all about exercising our bodies so much, but don't forget about the importance of exercising your mind and soul. It's okay to take time for YOU. This week I reminded myself of that."
